HISTORY:
Advika was born to Ishir and Idika Yadav in Mumbai, close enough to the Aurangabad ruins where they were living for her dad’s archeological research. From a young age, Advi was taught to love the past. Ishir would bring his wife and daughter with him to work - where he would teach his young daughter all about ancient history, give her small brushes to ‘assist’ with unearching rocks while he pulled up treasures (under the careful eye of her mother). A passion for history and ancient artifacts was established and she’d decided at age 8 she wanted to pursue something similar. Advika, born to two muggles, had had no idea of her magical heritage and intended to go to muggle schools to study - but at age 11 she received a letter from Koldostov inviting her to study there. She was not interested, and wanted to just attend muggle school, but with great difficulty her dad was able to figure out there were other options for her - such as an exchange program at Castelobruxo in Brazil.
Advi was still nervous to go, even more so now that she would be traveling so far from her parents, but the amazon rainforest where Castelobruxo was located held such promise of ruins and study that most interested her, she decided it was worth a shot and agreed to go. She spent the majority of her first year pouting, as the ruins she’d been most excited to see ended up being the magic castle she now called home and a ruse for non magical like she had believed herself to be. But as the year went by, she found a passion for the different subjects offered as a witch - particularly an interest in the foreign languages and ancient runes.
By the time her first term ended, she was in love with the school without a doubt in her mind she would be returning. And such went on her school years, with friends coming and going and every summer spent taking muggle classes in order to keep her options open in terms of higher education. She knew she wanted to do something founded in archeology, but was torn between journalism, participating in digs, or research on what had already been unearthed. Curse breaking was something of interest for her for a while as well, but she steered away from that the more her interests focused in research and journalism.
By the time she had graduated, Advi had decided on Euro-Glyph School of Extraordinary Languages where she would major in Hieroglyphics and minor in a journalism program offered. For her study, she chose to remain in South America and relocated to Caracas, Venezuela in order to attend the campus there. After two uneventful years of study, she applied for a few internships and was astounded when she was offered a paid position assisting at her Dad's old dig site. She accepted immediately and put in for a transfer to Wizarding University in Mumbai to finish out the remainder of her studies. The best decision, as this was where she met her now husband, Suresh.
Now that the couple has moved to Wales, Advi found herself a position as a researcher with the National Museum of History, specializing in hieroglyphic translation.

She'd often heard other couples complain about how the words 'I love you' could start to feel rehearsed in a long term relationship. That because it was just something that was expected to be said between two people who were committed to each other, that it started to become as much of an instinct as when people asked 'How are you?' in other social situations. What she loved and appreciated most about her and Suresh - there was never a moment that she did not feel his words were meant with 100% sincerity. While he was open with expressing his affections often, she also felt how much he meant the statement every time he did. And she too, whenever she said it, she felt it. Like in this moment especially, watching him with their daughter. In her eyes, Suresh was perfection - the example of what men should be.
Smiling even wider as he started to return to her side with their little one in his arms, Advi beamed before leaning over to place a loud kiss on the little girl's cheek. Exaggerating the noise greatly, knowing how much it tended to make her giggle. "Are you ready to decorate and eat some cookies, little love?" She asked, running her hand through the girl's hair trying to smooth the nap away.
Maa always said it was naps that gave her the extra energy, though the little girl still felt suspiciously like that was just something that was said in an effort to convince her to sleep when she didn't WANT to. Her excited little bounces did not stop now that Baba was holding her, though she did let go of his neck with one arm in order to accept the kiss from Maa. At the loud POP of the kiss on her cheek, the little girl squealed and giggled before hiding into her father once again."Cookies! Cookies!" She repeated again, using one finger to point towards the door way while she patted Baba's shoulder to get his attention to go that way.

Advika would be right: their ‘I love you’s along with the couple’s other routines were not at all stale. Suresh was not bored with his family life in any way; he expected that his goddess of a wife felt the same way because he was quite sure she would talk to him about it if that happened to be the case. Suresh suspected that his silly little antics helped to keep Advi’s interest alive. There was a love that ran deep and there was no doubt it would trickle down to their child or children {Suresh did hope that they would have at least one more}. No, no. He just tried his best because Advika deserved the best hubby! If he ever failed to continue giving her that level of himself, then he could definitely be considered a failure.
One of the best things Suresh ever had the fortune of taking in? His Queen and Princess interact. Each interaction was beyond cute, beyond adorable. You know that fuzzy, warm feeling you got when watching cat videos? And that smile they always put on your face? Those were exactly what Suresh felt every time. “Daddy, daughter and sheep are ready to devour all the cookies! Here’s to the sugar rush!
“She’s going to have a sweet tooth,’’ Sur continued to Advika before bursting out into hearty laughter as Lakshmi’s tiny finger pointed to the door. “Someone's eager as she’s bouncy! To the kitchen then.” It would be rude to deny a lady her little heart’s desires. “Maa’s made enough cookies to last you for days,’’ the man informed the child as he set off.
Because she was lucky enough to have a spouse that was very encouraging with open communication, had she ever felt dissatisfied or upset with anything in her and Suresh's life together, she would have gone to him. But it was perhaps that he was so communicative that she could not come up with very many instances in which anything had to be addressed. She was a very, very fortunate woman.
And the way that Suresh felt about the interactions between herself and their daughter? That was exactly the emotions invoked for Advika whenever she watched the loves of her life together. They were so cute, and it was so abundantly clear how enthralled with being a father Suresh was. Advi definitely wanted at least one more at some point or another as well. "With the stomachs on you, my loves, I'm worried Maa did not make enough!" She replied, giggling as she followed the pair of them. She paused to playfully tap the top of the sheep's head. "I think it's Lambie who will eat the most though." She winked at Suresh, before another soft giggle escaped her at his words. "I wonder where that might have come from." She teasing, giving his arm a soft squeeze as she passed them to enter the kitchen first and pulled out her list closer of the neighbors and family she had been hoping to give cookies to as gifts. Quickly separating a couple of tins, she double checked the list once more to make sure she had enough, before readying the rest for her husband and daughter's consumption.
When Baa started moving towards the kitchen, the little one just flailed around even more excitedly in his arms, before SQUEEEEEZING her sheep extra close to get out some of the emotions. Her little mouth was already salivating at the idea of all the cookies. And even more so when the door swung open and she could see all the ones Maa was sorting out. She nearly protested as some of the cookies were put away, considering throwing a temper tantrum about wanting a very specific gingerbread ninja, when she saw the loot her that was still left for her and Baa and decided against it. "Stoo! Stoo!" She cried instead, patting her Baa's shoulder and then pointing at the stool that Maa usually set up in the kitchen for her to 'help' at.

That was probably because Suresh rarely let anything he wanted to say stay hidden in him. He had been very vocal from a very young age, a trait which stuck with him as he aged. Use it well was something he had been able to do, use it to his advantage. That and the fact that he wore his heart on his sleeve. The two worked simultaneously for him.
Being a husband and a father were definitely his favourite. It was the love for the two occupations that Advika saw whenever she became occupied with watching him. Suresh in turn became occupied with admiring his goddess the moment she started those cute giggles. Did he also need to say that her own interaction with their daughter was absolutely superb? Because it was! Suresh winked back. “I have no doubt that Lambie wil. If need be, we’ll have to make little Lambie some extra cookies.” Sur playfully scoffed at Advi’s joke. “I no not what you speak of, dear.” Chuckling, he peered down at Lakshmi and looked on in high amusement as she squeezed the figuratively speaking life out of the toy.
Like their little girl, Suresh was remarkably pleased to see the huge amount of cookies that would be left for the three of them. There would be cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner, yes? Just kidding. Laughing, Suresh obeyed the instructions - the pats on his shoulder and the rather demanded cries for the stool - by carefully placing Lakshmi on it. “Are you and Lambie comfortable then?” To Advi, Sur said, “Let the decorating begin!”
Those were both traits Advika truly admired in him. She'd always been a quieter child, and she often had denied herself things that she'd wanted in the pursuit of a bigger picture. Though considering that 'bigger picture' could have made her lose something that meant the world to her now, their family, she had learned to say yes and live in the moment. It was the simple things like that that she had learned from her husband, but that had become such invaluable knowledge to her now.
They were both clearly adjusting well to life as parents. Were they perfect at it? Probably not, but the most important thing was how much they loved little Lakshmi and how committed they were to doing right by her and each other. "Thankfully for Lambie, I did freeze some extra dough juuuust in case it ended up being needed later." She added, another little giggle as she reached over to gently tweak Mi's nose. Hearing their daughter's demands as well, she moved to adjust the stool closer to the counter top. "Of course you don't, my love." She replied, looking over at Suresh with a teasing glint to her eyes.
Grabbing a couple plates, she loaded them with undecorated cookies - slapping some frosting on Lakshmi's first before setting it down in front of her with plenty of sprinkle options for the little girl to begin with.
Cookies for every meal might have been something Baa was joking about buuuuuut... if it was offered, Lakshmi would gladly take him up on it. Cookies were the greatest meal ever, didn't her parents know? "Tank you!" She chirped, beaming at her father as he set her down on the stool before dancing excitedly as cookies were set down in front of her. Her little head nodded at the questions of comfort, before she dove forward to grab a package of sprinkles with the permission of her parents and haphazardly shook it around. Some of it was aimed at the cookies, but there was also a bit that was shaken in the direction of her parents as well.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
How fortunate it was for both of them that Advika had not stubbornly stuck to her focus on the bigger picture. Otherwise, there wouldn’t have been no them, no little family, no happy devouring of Christmas cookies; not to mention there would be none of their future moments. But everything had worked out for the best and for that, Suresh was eternally grateful and happy for.
Advi the Loveliest would be correct there: the pair weren’t perfect parents but to Sur, it was a wonderful adventure to learn parenting together. By the time they were ready to be parents again, they both would have far more experiences. “Lambie has the most thoughtful grandma,’’ Suresh told the toy and Lakshmi. And that right there was one of the best parenting skills - to indulge their daughter just a bit. He in turn chuckled at his wife; how he loved their humorous moments!
With Lakshmi and Lambie secured at the counter, Suresh drew up his own stool. But… HOW ADORABLE!!! His heart melted at those words of gratitude. “My little princess is always welcome!” He had opted to sit right beside his daughter so that he could admire her making a mess of things up close. And my, my! What a good choice he had made! Never mind that the majority of sprinkles got thrown over him and Advi. Suresh was soon in a fit of laughter; he found it all too funny. “Do you think I’ll have to head out to the store to get more sprinkles, Advi?”
Fortunate, indeed! Advika thanked the universe daily for not letting her remain in her stubborn ways and sending her husband her direction. Since the birth of their little, she even thanked the universe twice daily. She was so grateful for their family and she’d be happy to grow it even further later, but for the time being… she was quite content to just enjoy the time she had as a family of 3 first.
The term ‘grandma’ in reference to her in regards to Lakshmi’s lamb made Advi giggle, as she paused to indulgently scratch the stuffy’s head before pressing another kiss to her daughters head. “We can’t let anyone feel left out, can we?” She replied, winking at her husband. She hadn’t needed to read her parenting books to know the importance of imagination and that fostering it for children was vital for their development. Particularly when they’d not yet made a ton of friends with kids at Lakshmi’s age for her to play with. Encouraging a friend, no matter what form that friend took, couldn’t be a bad thing.
She went back to further preparations for them to continue the task at hand, when the showering of sprinkles drew a soft yelp as the woman had to shake herself like a pup to try to get some of them off of her. Probably only managing to spray more her husband’s direction. “Thankfully I considered that and we have sprinkles that should last a year!” Emphasis on the should, because now she was questioning if she’d have to go through all the other holiday ones she’d purchased in a day. Though, if she did it would be well worth it.
Truly, the little girl was interested in decorations but she was MORE interested in the idea of just EATING everything they had laid in front of her. Which she did help herself too, as her parents busied themselves with sprinkle shower she swiped a handful and licked it out of her hand - managing to just turn her cheeks and palms a sticky colorful mess that clearly showed the evidence of her attempted stealth. It was lucky they always had assumed she’d dirty the pretty little white lamb and placed charms to keep it from getting dyed. “More sprinkles, more sprinkles!” Lakshmi chanted, only catching the tail end of Baba’s question, before she picked up a tube of frosting and very kindly aimed that at baba as well in his seat next to her. She was especially glad he’d chosen to sit there so that she could decorate HIM just as much as the cookies.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Things were as they were meant to be; it was all Suresh could have asked for life to be right now. He was content, he was happy. He also knew that Adviks felt the same and if she wasn’t ever happy now or in the future, he was always approachable for a talk on the topic. He was rather open to discussion on all topics with the wifey. He was, of course, always open to playfulness when it came to their daughter. “Right! No human or sheep left behind!” Sur could not agree more about fostering Lakshmi’s imagination. From what he saw, the little girl had a great deal of it.
If he was laughing before about being bathed in sprinkles, it was nothing compared to what he was doing now. Because Advika’s little yelp had been hilarious to him so now he was doubly cracked up. Tears of mirth sprang into his eyes as he worked to swipe away the sprinkles she too had gotten on him. “Is that where our Christmas bonuses went? Towards a horde of sprinkles?” Suresh was joking of course, but now that his laughter had calmed a little, he was back at cracking jokes.
The man had every intention of following in Lakshmi’s footsteps of wanting to eat everything but naturally he was sidetracked by the cute mess she was making - and becoming. He grabbed his phone. “Look, Advi! Doesn’t she look extra adorable?” Don’t mind him, snapping away like crazy as Lakshmi licked sprinkles. “Better out the rest of the sprink-”
SPLAT!!!
Well aimed frosting landed smack on his cheek leaving Suresh mildly surprised.
She couldn't fathom a world in which she wasn't happy with her husband, but should the unthinkable ever occur - she certainly wouldn't have been shy in having a discussion with him. As she hoped he would do the same.
As Suresh cracked up from his spot next to their daughter, she simply shot him a faux glare. There was no realness to it though, and considering what a poor actress she was she was certain he saw straight through her and straight to the amusement she also felt. She'd be showering off sprinkles later to be certain, but that didn't matter. The family was having fun, that was the important thing! At his question, she gave a giggle. "Yes, both of them. I had to spell a separate pantry just to hold them all." She could tease too. (Even if she DID spend a pretty galleon).
Grabbing another plate full of cookies to bring to the table for them to work on, Advi turned when her husband asked about their daughter looking particular adorable. Which she always though Lakshmi was particularly adorable. But still, she looked to see what he was seeing and merlin was she glad she had as one moment she was looking at her daughter - and the next she was watching a glob of frosting sail through the air and land itself on her husband's cheek.
She was quiet for a moment, but then her own giggles were uncontrollable as she gripped the counter. "She has good aim."
While she was very, very busy with the sprinkles currently coating her fingers, Lakshmi still took a moment to pose for her father and the snapping photos, before her attention had once more turned to the tube now clutched in her chubby hands. Her little eyes widened for a moment as it shot out and hit Baba, but then the silliness of how he looked, coupled with Maa's giggles from the kitchen - the little girl couldn't stop herself from squealing and clapping in delight too. "Mo! Mo!" Could she keep decorating him then?
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Advi was always approachable. Suresh honestly could not recall a time when she wasn’t. Perhaps this was part of the reason he had never given up in pursuing her. Or maybe if she had made herself unapproachable back then, he had utterly failed to notice. Ah well. And excuse her but he saw riiight through that glare. It was so adorable and sweet that he simply grinned. “A good idea! Now Lakshmi can have her pick from an entire collection of sprinkles!’’ Sur continued playing right along.
That was one hundred percent the truth! They had made quite an adorable baby; Papa Nadeem doubted that she’d ever lose that adorableness as she grew. Their baby was going to be a heartbreaker! But DEAR MERLIN! She was cheeky! And no, there was no pun intended there!
He lifted a finger to scoop a dollop of the goo from his face at the moment Advi erupted into giggles. “She does,’’ Suresh replied innocently. Then he flicked the frosting in her direction. Why was he not surprised that Lakshmi wanted more silliness with the frosting? “Do you need some help, my little love?” Sur held out his hand for the tube. He was more than happy to help…
That was a sweet notion from her very sweet husband. Or perhaps she was just bad at giving cold shoulders, because she’d certainly done her best to be as unapproachable as possible when they’d first met. Though perhaps the fact she didn’t REALLY want to stay away from him kept her from being super successful in that regard. She knew he’d be able to, which is why she also dropped it so quickly and instead gave a giggle as she grinned back at him. “There is no shortage of choice.”
She WAS rather cute. Advika was forever pleased that she could see so much of Suresh in Lakshmi’s adorable features. His face shape, his eyes, that adorable smile. She knew most parents wanted a kid that was a carbon copy of themselves but Advi? She’d wanted a mini-Suresh and that was exactly what she’d gotten. And while yes, the girl was probably going to be a heartbreaker, she’d prefer to NOT think of all the future headaches that would be impending for the pair of them. Yikes.
Watching the pair of them, she didn’t even attempt to cease her giggles, avoiding the flick of frosting her way from the covered Nadeem patriarch. It was only when he offered to ‘help’ Mi that her eyes went wide. “Ah, no little, it’s a trap!”
Lakshmi wasn’t born YESTERDAY (it was over a year ago), she knew very well Baba was setting a trap. And she was preeeeetty sure she could figure out who was the recipient of the trap, which is why with a cheeky grin towards her Maa she passed over the tube. “Ba! Ba!”
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
If by ‘unapproachable’ meant that Advika was being cuter, then sure. That was definitely the word to use! Sur always knew that his determination, charm and good looks would eventually win her over. The fact that they were now married and had a little human of their own proved it.
It was true: Lakshmi DID look like him! Though Suresh would have been just as happy had she taken her mother’s features. It rang true, at least in this case, that first born girls looked like their fathers. Basically, Suresh was looking at himself had he been a little girl. It was quite amusing when he thought of it that way and it further amused him when it hit that he’d still be looking at a female version of himself as Lakshmi aged. But yes, poor Suresh was bound to be all worked out from any situation that involved this precious bean breaking hearts.
But for now, Advi’s own headache probably involved her husband and daughter gaming up on her for some fun!
Lakshmi, his little co-conspirator, paid no heed to her and Suresh was grinning wickedly. Aiming the tub ah his goddess, it was squeezed so that frosting went flying in her direction. Laughing, the man lifted a hand for Lakshmi to high five him. “Do you think Maa will be mad at us?” Sur then tilted his head at Advi, surveying mischievous damage he may have caused.
She certainly hadn’t thought she’d been being cute. And her back then would have been aggravated to know that’s what he thought, except the her now was just relieved. Suresh had certainly been the smarter between the pair of them and she thanked the universe daily that that had been the case. No amount of determination or whatever she’d been telling herself before she needed to have would have been worth the loss of love he’d brought to her life.
Her warnings to their little clearly fell on deaf ears. Actually, that wasn’t true - they’d fallen on uncaring ears, as the little girl grinned wickedly at her and gave the tube to Sur. Advika knew then what was coming and yet she still was not fast enough in her retreat from the room. Frosting came flying at her and she shrieked as it splashed on the front of her shirt - some of it flying up and onto her face at the impact. The shriek was not from anger or anything, simply surprise at the pair of her trouble makers. With wide eyes, she looked at the mess before back at the pair of them. “I hope you two know what you’ve unleashed!” She said, grabbing some of the sprinkles and putting a small handful into her palm - before sending them careening towards them.
Lakshmi giggled and squealed and clapped her hands in delight as her father sent frosting towards Maa. And she was even more tickled when it made impact and the look of SHOCK on the woman’s features. She looked at her father’s outstretched hand, not quite grasping the idea of high five yet and instead headbutting his hand with her small head in delight. “Again, again!” She cried. Before her chant could really ramp up however, Maa had already started her revenge and there was sprinkles coming their direction. “EEEEE!”
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
It had all worked out the way it was supposed to. Suresh had no complaints about how all his and Advika’s journey had gone. Perhaps all of that had aided in their relationship being such a healthy one. At least neither of them had become a bitter partner throughout their years together; they both seemed to get more childish and lively as time progressed. Needless to say this served them excellently since they got to be adult-children with their tiny human.
Suresh burst out in laughter at that shriek. Naturally, he recognised it as one being anger-free {he doubted Advika was capable of getting angry}. “What? An adorable mama monster?” he just had enough time to playfully ask before a handful of sprinkles were sent his and Lakshmi’s way. Rather than ducking out of the way, Sur opened his mouth wide and was able to snag some of the sugary stuff.
Of course, of course. Little Lakshmi had not yet grasped the concept of the esteemed fistbump. Suresh would have to ensure this was remedied. He was just as delighted to settle for the headbutt though; Lakshmi’s movement reminded him of cats and kneazles. “Open wide, Laksh! Like this!” Suresh demonstrated the not-so-elegant art of snagging food with one’s mouth wide open. It wasn’t elegant because sprinkles had landed all over his face in the process.
Scene VI Summer 2113. Advika has a pleasant surprise for Suresh, take two.
This moment was inevitable, considering Advika and Suresh both had already discussed and settled on the idea of having another one together when Lakshmi was a little bit older. But it had never been set on any specific timeline by the pair or even discussed planning for baby number two now. And yet… as she stared at the small stick in her hands, two tiny little pink lines blinking back up at her, Advi knew very well what that meant and that the time for preparation was upon them.
Starting with, of course, the preparation to surprise her husband with the news.
She already knew exactly how she wanted to this time. Nothing too lavish or as large as when she'd first told him about Lakshmi. She didn't need to go big and over the top, because she knew even if she didn't do anything except say the words, Suresh would be incredibly happy. So her preparation was quick. A simple stop at a store, a quick photoshoot with her little love, and then their daughter was on her way to an overnight at Advika’s parents so she and Sur could celebrate.
Next was dinner, which she was currently still in the process of making - though apparently pregnancy brain was already upon her, considering the task at hand was attempting to salvage the burnt naan she’d somehow forgotten about.

Being called away unexpectedly to work during his leave was unexpected. However, Suresh had agreed with the coworkers’ decision when he arrived and understood that there had been a chest brought in from Argentina by one Hartley Stonewall. Apparently the Argentinian Ministry could not make heads nor tails of the relic and at Hartley’s suggestion, had agreed to let it be looked over by British Cursebreakers. Obviously this included him. And now he was wondering if he should cut his leave short since the foreign Ministry had given them a short timeline to crack the case; this was something he would want to discuss with Advika first.
Suresh entered their house to the smell of something burning. His first thought was that Advi had inadvertently fallen asleep and had left something on the stove. The thought had him rushing into the kitchen, wand aloft, all set to extinguish whatever calamity he found waiting for him.
What he found was Advika and an absolute pristine kitchen. “Where’s the fire?” he asked comically. “I swear I smell something burning.” Excuse him, he hadn’t yet noticed the wife’s attempts with the naan.
She was so intent on the (impossible) task at hand that Advika hadn’t heard the door open or shut, signaling her husband’s return home. It took him rushing into the kitchen - which she could assume was only the smell of the burnt yeast in front of her - for her to realize he had arrived. She offered a small smile at him, hoping the scent hadn’t worried him, before glancing down at the pan in front of her and giving a wave it’s direction. “Well… your nose has not failed you. I forgot about what I put in the oven.” She’d save herself from saying what it was - perhaps he could have guessed.
Giving up on her task at hand, she took of the gloves she’d donned while working with the food and left them on the counter, striding over to her husband instead to greet him. “How’s take out sound for dinner tonight?” She was taking the fact she wasn’t having a melt down at this stage as an optimistic sign - perhaps this pregnancy wouldn’t be nearly as emotional as the last.
Or at least one could hope for both of their sakes.

The scent had worried him. Very much so that he was more than prepared to go into overprotective mode. When it finally sank in that it was a simple cooking mishap, he visibly relaxed. Reholstering his wand, Sur wrinkled his nose quite obviously, he peered over at the pan. “Are you okay?” the concerned man asked. “Didn’t burn yourself, did you?” Advika’s safety was what was most important. And their little one, of course, but a quick surveillance of the kitchen told him that Lakshmi was not present.
As Advika reached him, Suresh give her a kiss. It was a lengthier one than usual but his relief that nothing had happened to her was channelled into it. “I’m happy with that,’’ he replied, smiling reassuring in case Advi was feeling down about her dinner-making attempt. “Anything in particular you’re craving? And do you need help clearing up?” Because this man was only happy to manage both tasks!
There was a twinge more of regret when she noticed how concerned he was, and in an effort to assure him, she snaked her arms around Suresh 's waist, standing in tiptoe to press a kiss to his cheek. “I'm entirely okay. I'm sorry I worried you, love.” At his glance around the room, she answered what she assumed would be a question coming eventually. “My parents have Mi for the evening. I wanted to surprise you with a nice dinner for just us.”
Which… they could still have, it just wouldn't be something she prepared any longer. Returning the kids, Advi put in as much fervor, trying to assure him as well that she was strong and entirely fine and even more in love with him than she'd been the day before. In most circumstances, she probably would have been upset. Her pregnancy with their daughter? Her emotions would have made her inconsolable. But thankfully, thus far, her hormones were far more stable this go around. Besides, she was so excited to tell him how could she be sad? Hmm… “Samosas. And buttered chicken. What would you like?” She was already disentangling herself to retrieve a menu from one of their favorite spots. “That's okay! If you’ll order the food I can get this cleaned up real quick.” And then they could sit and she could give him his gift.

Advika’s strategy worked. Suresh immediately felt the worry and tension ebb away. His serious expression was replaced by a relaxed, happy one complete with a wide smile. Especially when that kiss was planted on his cheek. “That’s okay. The important thing is that no one’s in danger.” Thank Merlin for the mercies of life! “I bet they’re spoiling her rotten,’’ he joked. But truthfully, his own parents were not that different. The man would never understand why grandparents were seemingly weak when it came to their grandkids. “Well, I can say I’m at least surprised.’’ A small laugh accompanied these words but he was not laughing at Advika. Now that it was established all was good, he was laughing at the situation.
There was something different about this kiss. It was true that Advi was always passionate but Suresh felt there was something more this time around. He watched her head for menus afterwards. “Hungry, are we?” Nope, this fella hadn’t the foggiest about the secret currently being kept. “Paneer curry and naan for me.” Sur eyed Advi. “Anything else for you? Something for dessert?” The list was being made mentally.
She smiled a bit wider at her kind, understanding husband, unable to stop herself from another cheek kiss - this time the opposite one. One couldn't feel left out, could it? At the comment, she giggled and gave a nod of her head. "I've already received photos of at least 2 new coloring books and 1 new stuffy. Which she apparently hugged once and then abandoned for lambie." Their young one certainly had her preferred attachment. Advi wondered if the second would as well. "Well, at least I was partially successful! I have another surprise for you later too." And even if it was not presented perfectly, she knew he'd love it.
"Famished, actually." She replied back, pulling out the desired menu in order to take it back to him. At the question of dessert, she knew she probably should have said no because more reason to be healthy for herself now and yet..... "Maybe an order of kalakand? I'm feeling a bit of a sweet tooth." The cravings were already coming in strong. She was just thankful she hadn't had morning sickness to the degree as before. Although, if she had, she supposed she and Suresh would have figured out her current condition far earlier. With her selections made, she went to work on quickly cleaning the kitchen - throwing away all of the now ruined food before using her wand to clean up the dishes and put them away.

Suresh always appreciated kisses, and Advika was wise to be considerate about the next cheek. Now it didn’t feel left out at all. And he himself certainly did not feel left out as news of their daughter’s antics was relayed. Obviously what he heard was highly amusing and led him to a bout of hearty laughter. “Let’s hope she doesn’t lose interest in the book as well.” But any young human’s attention span was that way, he supposed; they were excited about something one second, disinterested the next then interested once more sometime later. “Oh? Can’t you tell me now? Please?” Excuse him while he even batted his lashes at her.
With his curiosity peaked, Sur cast Advika one last questioning look - for now - before raising his hand in a jovial salute. “Your wishes are my command, My Queen.” Leaving Advi to her task, Suresh headed off to place their orders then to change into his comfortable homewear. The man marvelled at how quiet and empty the house was without Lakshmi; what this how it had been before she came along? However, it was rather nice to have an evening off from parenting.
Once changed, Sur headed back downstairs. “How’s the cleaning coming along, Advi? Almost done?” he called from the living room as he checked the time. How much longer until the food got here?
Advika giggled, nodding her head in agreement. She often wondered how school would go in future years for their easily distracted little, but at least Mi did have some consistencies. "I think as long as there are still rainbow crayons available, she'll be interested in the coloring book." If however she lost them all? She was sure their little would be begging her grandparents for something else to do. He was incredibly cute and as much as she wanted to tell him the news now, she refrained. Instead just reaching both of her hands up to his cheeks and giving him a quick kiss. "Patience is a virtue, my love."
Winking at Sur as he left the room to take care of their order and she presumed to change into something comfortable, Advika got to work with quickly cleaning up her earlier mess. A few spells here and there and the house was looking as it had before her previous attempts. With a little time left as well, she went ahead and grabbed the bag with the wrapped gift she'd prepared for Suresh, leaving it on his usual seat. With that all completed, she was just going to sit in the living room for a spell when she saw he had already reappeared. "All done." She replied, smiling at him as she moved to the couch to sink into one of the spots for a spell.

Their little one would never be out of rainbow coloured crayons even if they got misplaced. One look at the pleading and adorable face, and the grandparents {definitely the parents too} would be getting that kiddo was going to present her cutest pleading face that would make anyone give into her demands. Suresh was just not ready for his tiny human to grow up. Ever. He reckoned he would feel the same about any other child he and Advi had.
Yet he hadn’t the slightest clue of the news she wanted to break to him.
“Just in time then,’’ the man remarked cheerfully. “Food should be here within five minutes.” But being hungry as he was, Sur pulled aside a blind to check out the window for signs of the delivery being made. Finding none, he moved towards Advi. “Do I get to know what the surprise is now?”
It was true little miss Lakshmi had all of the adults of the family wrapped tightly around her little fingers. Spoiled probably was a word that could have been used, but Advika didn’t think of it that way. They were all just so pleased to have a child in the family to love and dote on, and they didn’t excuse bad behaviors so what was wrong with showing a little extra love and affection, even through gifts at times?
Thinking of all that just made her even more excited for the incoming baby. She was certain he, or she, would get the same type of adoration that their big sister did.
Now from her seated spot, Advi watched her husband wander to the windows to peek out after he’d declared when food would be arriving. She was likewise hungry, so a fond smile settled on her face at his actions as she sat up a little straighter to see if she could see any lights from outside as well. None, too bad. But that was okay, because the quiet moment was perhaps perfect for the reveal. “If you would like to, yes. There’s a gift on the table for you. You can open it up whenever you’d like.” It was just a small brown bag, with white tissue paper poking up from the top. Once he opened it, he would find a small white onesie with a sunflower on the front with words “here we grow again”. The pregnancy test she’d taken too was underneath that, and she’d done some spellwork to make the shirt she’d changed into charmed to also show a sunflower over her belly once the other was touched.
