| | | fona's Blackforest Gateaux with Cream SnitchSeeker is proud to reintroduce the Member of the Week Interviews!
This week's interview was with Hufflepuff's: fona Interviewer in green and Intererviewee in navy. Would you like to be the first Member of the Week on the new and improved SS? uh? You've never heard of the Member of the Week? :o I'm not too surprised since we haven't done a member interview since before the switch to the new server. ok. No I hadn't. What do I have to do? Answer my questions. *contemplates running* *evil* Eh ok, sure why not? Cool. *takes out dusty interrogation lamp* Darn, the bulb’s broken. Anyway… lol First things first: What is your rank and serial number (aka: username and house)? fona, and eh, Hufflepuff How did you first stumble across SnitchSeeker? Google searching for a way to get secrets on JK's site. What was your first impression of the site? First impression? Fun users, easy to get round the site, informative. What do you like best about it? Now? or at first? Why not both? LOL ok *prepares self* At first, I suppose I most liked the user base. Its a very diverse group, encompassing all ages and also all ideas and backgrounds. The debates are interesting because there are such interesting ideas.
Now... I guess I like the RP section. The above all still stands, but the RP section would be my favourite. Mine, too. *hands you a glass of water* *gulps* ah good lol If you could, what one thing would you change/add about/to the site? hmmm *thinking face* Nothing I can think of really. The site meets any needs/preferences I have. The most important thing is always the people involved. On other forums I post to, the users seem to be perpetually at war with the mods and admins, but here, everybody seems to get on. So I wouldn't change anything. That's awesome to hear. Speaking as an admin, myself, I love that statement because we really do try to have a helpful, friendly, staff. It's good to hear that we are doing a good job (at least on the public relations end of things LOL). Yup. Ye all are doing a great job *nods* Now, let's get down to the good stuff. *rubs hands* We know you must love Harry Potter because you wouldn't be on the site if you weren't. However, we don't know how you first got into Harry Potter. So, would you care to tell us how your obsession began? Ah, the long one.... Hence the glass of water earlier. I'm fairly new to HP fandom. I'd tried to read PS several times but couldn't. After I saw the first film though, I found it easier to get through the first two books and I was hooked. My housemate lent me the books, and I sorta stoped doing anything for a week and just read them. As soon as I got my own copies [about a week later as a present] I started rereading them obsessivly, until I knew them inside out. Dropped everything for a week, huh? Sounds like me. LOL Now that you know them inside and out, who is your favorite character and why? hmm difficult I'm evil; in case you hadn't heard. How minor/major does the character need to be? It doesn't matter. Who ever your favorite is. Lupin I guess... My other favourites are far too small, and I'd need more info before choosing them. Oooo... That sounds so interesting, though. What small characters are among your list of favorites? Bellatrix, Snape, Tonks I love them all. *hugs them, especially Snape* lol What makes these characters your favorites as opposed to... Harry, for instance? Not that I dislike Harry, Ron or Hermione... but they are a bit sickly sometimes. Bellatrix is intriguing to me. I'm interested in her story, simply because I empathise somewhat with her. I could easily see myself in her shoes. Interesting; I don't think many people would empathize with her. lol, yeah, I'm a wee bit strange. Aren't we all? lol Snape, lets face it is one of the most fascinating characters in the series, we know so little about him, but I'm dying to find out where he truely stands. Not to mention yours and Emma's influence. LOL w00t!!!!!! *puts another checkmark in the converted column* Did you know our goal is to make the world a bunch of Snape-lovers? I think our current conversion count stands at 5 now... Maybe more... not bad Now that we know your favorite, how about the character you relate to most? My friends think I'm most like a mix of Hermione's bookishness, and Luna's weirdness. What do you think? I agree with them, but I also relate to Tonks. She seems a bit of both of them, and clumsy to boot. If she turns out to be slightly ruthless, it'd be a plus but, I guess it’s Tonks. Nice analysis; I can see Bellatrix peaking out. LOL Do you have a favorite quote? From the films... "Why don't you run along and play with you're chemistry set." I love that line! How about from the books? "Kill the spare"-Voldemort in GoF about Cedric. w00ps, scared Kris... lol That was a good one. Which was your favorite book and which was your favorite movie, so far? Favourite film, hands down, PoA. Favourite book, OotP. I love OoTP. Now that we've gone through your love affair with HP, tell us a little more about yourself. Well, ok. I'm 21, from Ireland. I'm a final year Astrophysics student in N.U.I.Maynooth. I'm hoping to go on to do a Phd in Quantum Information Technology. Finally, someone studying something that sounds more complicated than my course of study LOL Interests: reading(obviously) HP, Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles, H2G2, LOTR; swimming, rollerblade, amateur astronomy OMG! I love the Vampire Chronicles, too! music: all sorts, Moxy Fruvous, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Counting Crows, Rammstein. I'm in a death metal band called Funky Moose Chicken with my mates and my boyfriend Dave. So, what does it feel like to be a future astrophysicist? Kinda wierd. *looks at self* somewhere in the last few years I turned into an adult, but I still don't feel like one. But is is kinda cool to be able to tell people that you're doing something which passionately fascinates you. Do find people automatically assume you are super intelligent when they find out what you are studying? (not that you aren't super intelligent LOL) Yup. They all step back and go 'whoa' with the "wierd brainy person" look. It gets old very quickly. Astrophysics isn't that far out there. It's just a fancy name for a branch of physics. Yeah, I know. For some reason people think biochemistry is some big deal or something when it isn't. Though, physicists are generally looked at as really brainy people. Astrophysics just sounds so much more fancy and... I don't know. But, I also get people doing double-takes, I guess it might be because it's still one of those fields that women are just getting into. Possibly, all the big names are male, always have been, so i guess that could explain some of it. But, anyway, I think you pretty much covered everything with that concise list of interestests. LOL Our previous Member of the Week (back in September), Jennifer_W asks: "If you could live anywhere else in the world where would it be? And no, "I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else" garbage! " Scotland. My family is from Scotland a few generations back, and I've always felt some sort of pull for there. Otherwise, it'd be Mauna Key in Hawaii. Ever been there? Nope, just my uncle lived there, and his stories. Taking a holiday there soon hopefully; Scotland, not Hawaii. Nice. I promise we're almost done. LOL What one question would you ask the next Member of the Week? Which is your least favourite book of the Harry Potter Series? [You have to pick one] WOW; that's a different question. I might have to include that in all my new interviews. lol Okay, final question: If you could be a dessert, what kind of dessert would you be? Blackforest Gateaux with cream Why did you pick that? Its so rich and gorgeous, by far my favourite dessert. Very good. Well, that concludes our interview. Sorry I didn't have the blinding spotlight working. I promise to get a new bulb for the next interview. lol okay *takes deep breath* |

Kinda wierd. *looks at self* somewhere in the last few years I turned into an adult, but I still don't feel like one. *sighs* I think that will be me in a couple of years! Good for her for choosing something she loves so! All my friends are in sciences, I'm the only one in Arts! Scotland. My family is from Scotland a few generations back, and I've always felt some sort of pull for there. Otherwise, it'd be Mauna Key in Hawaii. Ohhh, go to Maui's Kihei, too, it's loverly!
Loved all the answers! Very nicely done. Glad to see the MotW back, thanks Kris!

*raises hand and admits that he was one of the Snape converted people by Kris*
Awesome interview, Fona and Kris.
Hehe, that's mostly my reaction too, the "taken aback" one, when I hear someone having a fancy name for a job or anything...
Wow, you live in Ireland. I think that is one of the places where I would want to live apart from where I am now...
I hope your rock band will always do well...

Heh...these are neat. I didn't notice these on the old site. *shrugs* I found SS off of Google, also. I agree that it's nice to know about the other SnitchSeekers, besides the fact that they're rabid Harry fans (of the books, at least). We are rabid Harry fans, but we're more than that.
