Hello there! First of all, welcome to SnitchSeeker. I'm Anna, a Gryffindor, as you can tell. I told myself that I would stay out of this discussion and simply let it run its course, however, there are a few things I feel like I really should say before I let it go entirely. I would go on and on and tell you that 'you will learn to love your house, etc., etc.,' but I do believe our fellow Snitch Seekers have already done an awesome job explaining that to you. For the record, though, I agree with them wholeheartedly. Regardless of how the separate houses are portrayed in the books and in the movies, you'll find (if you give the roleplaying game a chance) that all houses are equally nice, intelligent, and accepted here on Snitch Seeker.

A true Hufflepuff, as you state you are, is defined as being 'just, loyal, and patient.' If it's Hufflepuff that you truly feel you belong in, then I challenge you to go out there and be the most 'just, loyal, and patient' person you can be. While it won't change the house you've been sorted into, it will certainly be a true depiction of the Hufflepuff you say you are. [Roleplay] actions do speak louder that [typed] words, so I invite you to take the energy you are putting into posting about being so upset, and use it instead to enjoy the site to its full potential.

I'd also like to respond to your comments about purposely losing points for Slytherin house. I think it should be pointed out to you early on that there are steps and measures put into place that will not allow you to carry out that idea. Losing points through various means of roleplay interaction is one thing; however, setting out to lose points on purpose is another entirely. Your character can, and quite possibly will, end up in detention, which means that you will not be allowed to roleplay in the school (other than the area you are serving detention in) until your time of punishment has ended. This is not hurting Slytherin house, as I can assure you that your housemates will continue on with their exciting roleplay with or without you joining in on all the fun. I've witnessed detention lasting anywhere from a few days to a full month, and it would really be a shame to miss out on all the excitement of the roleplay just to prove a point and land your character in detention.

There are lots of wonderful Slytherin members here on Snitch Seeker, and none of them should be subjected to stereotypical name-calling and labeling. They are intelligent, friendly, talented roleplayers who deserve to be told what a great job they're doing. In my opinion, any true Hufflepuff would be honored to call one of our Slytherins (yourself included if you're willing to give the roleplaying game a fair chance) a friend. So, come on. Bring your 'just, loyal, and patient' character into Diagon Alley and give roleplaying a go. After all, that is what a true Hufflepuff would do, right?

As a Slytherin, I'm proud of my house and will not stand for people being rude and making unnecessary comments. I mean, if you don't like the house you're in, suck it up and deal with it. Don't make comments which will lead you down a road of trouble, just have fun RPing and getting to know the other members. Slytherin in my opinion has some of the most creative and amusing people I've ever had the pleasure of RPing with.

Well you are still a Newbie, you have to graduate out of Platform 9 and 3/4s with 10 posts to become a Member, then you can do the sorting quiz.

You may have ten posts, but you need to wait for the server to refresh and change you to a light blue (member). It'll be about an hour or so, so you just need to wait. Don't worry, there is still loads of time to be sorted, so no big, k? (FYI, your ten posts need to be legit. I notice that you be losing posts, so your wait's going to be longer now.)

Wowwowwow! Major flashback from last term sorting with a girl who was sorted into Hufflepuff and she wanted so badly to be a Gryffindor. Poor girl. But she really did well in her sorted house.

Most of my friends are in other houses actually. About half and half and...um, half. I have more buddies from other houses than in Slytherin. *coughchriscough*

Just because you are sorted into a house different than what you would like, doesn't mean you can't hang out and become friends with other houses. My previous character had a major crisis when she started to believe that she didn't belong in Slytherin. All in all, I had her realize (after several fits) that it was where she belonged. Self preservation was her thing. (Not jumping head-first into danger like all of those crazy Gryffindors!)

I can't tell you how shocked and hurt I am that you just honestly hate something I love so much. I've been RPing for almost 5 terms now and I have met so many wonderful Slytherins (I am one!) Thats my RP experience has only been enhanced by my Slytherin friends. We've won the quidditch cup, the house cup and the gobstone championships!

Half of the SS staff are former Slytherins.

There are a bunch of mods and admins that are and were Slytherins!

We've had some of the best and the worst, but that is like any other house.

And at first when you don't get what you want it can be a shock to the system. When I first got sorted into Slytheirn I was like whoa! I wanted Ravenclaw, but once I jumped in and started RPing it felt so natural to wear that silver and green.

I just wish you would come at this with a open mind and willing to test the waters and then if we aren't up to snuff then feel free to think what you want. But give us a chance at least.

If you wanted to be in Hufflepuff, then make your charrie act like a Huffie...just don't ruin your rp experience by getting into detention or losing points that your house has so proudly been gaining from hard work, like homework or anwsering right. Just have fun and enjoy being in Slytherin. Slytherin is in my oppinion, a cool house. I wanted to be at first in Gryffindor,*who wouldn't? ) but then when my friend was sorted into Ravenclaw I was really hoping to be in that house. I've learned to love being in the Ravenclaw house and I'm sure you'll come to loving Slytherin as well. So, just be happy and like darkangelmandy said, "suck it up".
