She sat down in a chair across from her friend. After he spoke about how he was, she scanned his face. Something could've been amiss there..

But she dismissed it. If he didn't want to tell her, she wouldn't push. "That's wonderful, got a flat and everything?" She mentally slapped herself. Of course he had. It had been over a year. It's not like he had been out on the streets causing trouble, because if he had, MLES would have picked it up somewhere.

She then laughed lightheartedly at his memory. Boy, was it a bad one. "Law Enforcement, the enforcement squad." She had finally gotten used to the place, just as the action slowed down. Bugger. It would pick back up during the school term though, she'd be ten Galleons it would.

Taking a long sip of his coffee, he nodded his head. "With a friend not far from Diagon Alley." Speaking of, he needed to stock up on supplies for Kat and thier pets. Maybe he would stop by her floor before heading back to his own. Hmm. "What have you been up to since I last saw you?"

Law Enforcement, that's right! They must be as busy as his own department was what with all the crazies running around London. "All is well on the second floor I hope?" Hogwarts let out soon didn't it? They would be busy soon if they already weren't.

Violet was taking another break. Things always seemed to drain her while at work...I mean don't get her wrong Vi LOVED her job, but after a day of just paper work and answering the cries of forgein countries Violet just needed a minuet to herself. She grabbed herself a bup a coffee and made her way to a empty table with the daily prophet in her hand. She was ready for a nice relaxing half hour break before she went and answered the cries of the Goblins in Nepal. Violet pulled a chair out of her self and took a deep breath and sat down.

"Well, well!" Asher called out as he entered the room. "It's the woman who ran into me earlier this week." He chuckled as he got himself a mug of coffee in his purple coffee mug his sister had made him all those years ago.

"How's it going today Violet?" Ash asked her as he turned around from the coffee station and headed toward her table. He pulled out the chair across from her and sat down. Her name was Violet, right?

Violet almost blushed, she had nearly knocked this man down the last time she came in contact with him. Clearly he had not forgotten about it, but he didn't seem mad either. "Hello Asher." Violet responded and put down her Daily prophet. It was rude to read the newspaper while she had company. "I'm doing fairly well. Kale's back from Hogwarts now, so things are pretty busy at home to." Violet wondered if she had ever told the man about her son. She couldn't remember so well.

Asher chuckled as he took a sip of his coffee and smiled back to Violet. "Kale, a brother?" Asher questioned her in a light conversational tone, he wanted to get things straight before he got confused. Because that happened quite often. Very often. "Sounds like you and I both are busy with the homecomings of family." Asher told her nodding his head a couple of times. "My sister just came home lastnight from a year in Greece." He shared with her.

Violet smiled at Asher, he was rather cute, Violet thought her self, but to her dismay he was engaged. "No Kale is my son, he just finished his fourth year at Hogwarts." Violet had gave her age away again by telling Asher how old her son was. She often got looks when they found out how old her son was. But Violet wasn't embarassed anymore. After pretty close to 15 years, the fact that Violet had a child young was her business and her business only. "Well that's great that your sister is home. I take it the two of your are close." Violet wasn't sure what else to say becuase she didn't know him very well....yet.

Asher could feel his ears turn red. "Oh, I'm sorry." Asher said getting quiet. There was a reason why he had asked...so he could get it straight now...and then forget later. That's how he and his brain worked. "Fourth year." Asher repeated quietly while nodding his head. Violet was suddenly a role model for him. If he had calculated correctly, she had Kale when she as young, and that made Asher giver her a lot of respect. Oh, they were back to the topic of Zi. "Yes, very close." Asher said nodding his head lightly before taking another drink of coffee.

"Oh please don't be sorry, most people who mett me do not expect me to have a son so old." Violet smiled, Kale would be angry if she heard people apologize for him. Kale was proud of his mother, "I wish I had siblings that I was close to! I have and two older sisters and one younger sister. But lets just say we don't get along very well." In fact Violet couldn't even remeber the last time she had talked to Rose or Lily and Iris only sent and owl once a month if that. "If you can image we are all named after flowers." Violet smiled she always thought it was interesting with her family, all the girls were often made fun of for it when they were much younger.

Asher nodded his head, though he still wanted to say he was sorry. Because, he was, it felt bad for mistaking her son as her brother. But alas, they had only met briefly a few days ago. So anyone could have made that mistake, right? Right. "I have three, well, two. But I consider the other a brother as well. There's Ziva, the baby, and then Devon who is a cousin who I've brought up along with the others, and then Corbin." Asher paused to take a drink of coffee. "I've raised all three, and we're oddly close." Asher told her, half hoping she wouldn't ask the reason for having to raise the three. "Well, flowers are quite nice." Asher chuckled.

Violet thought briefly about the fact that he had to raise three children that were not his. Maybe if she got to know him a little better the story would be told. "Well I couldn't image raises three! My one was a hand full." Violet remembered Kale's terrible twos and how the lasted untill he was at least four. "I always wanted more children, but my husband passed away before we are able to have more." Violet felt proud of herself, she had mentioned Corey and had not even teared up, she hadn't been able to do that before. She took another sip of her coffee, "So it's be just me and Kale for the last ten years." Violet couldn't believe it had been ten years already since Corey died.

"It had it's ups and downs." Asher chuckled. Remembering the time that Ziva refused to go to bed until the cat was washed...and it was Asher who had to wash it. They had never seen the cat since, but it was a memorable experience...both painful and enjoyable to see her laugh considering the current situation they were going through. "They were behaved as they could be." Asher admitted, the Holdens had always been a very well behaved family. And even Devon, who was a distant cousin was still very well behaved. "Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss." Asher told her in a comforting tone. At least she had Kale though, to hold on to when the going got tough. Just like how he had Ziva and the boys. "But it sounds like you and Kale are doing well." Asher pointed out before taking another drink of coffee.

"Well it's great that you have some one as well." Violet finished her last sip of coffee and considered getting a new one. "Yes Kale and I have managed so far." Violet hadn't talked so much about Corey since before he had passed away. It felt good to finally be able to talk about him with out crying. "It was pretty rough the first two or three years after Corey passed, but we got accostmed." Violet smiled, "This may seem forward and please don't take it the wrong way, it's just I haven't had anyone to talk to expect a my son the last few years." Violet took another deep breath, this was it. She hadn't done this is in years. "Would you like to join me for lunch. Just as friends." Violet added the last bit knowing he was engaged or at least in a relationship.

Asher nodded his head as he took a large drink of his coffee. He sat his cup down and flicked his tongue out of his mouth a few times. "Hot coffee." He chuckled, he hated burning his tongue like that, that's why he had always sipped his coffee...he just got distracted talking about family and took a large drink.

"I imagine." Asher told her, he knew what it was like losing family. He lost both parents at the same time...literally, LOST. "You're a tough woman Violet, and I have a high regard of respect towards you for that." Asher told her patting her hand gently. Asher already felt like he was a brother to Violet and this was only their second time meeting. Violet was yet another special woman in his life along with his mother, Maudi the maid, Chloe his fiancé and of course Ziva his little sister.

Asher gave her a warming smile and nodded. "I'd love to have lunch with you." Asher told her, he would never turn down someone who wanted to talk, especially someone like Violet who was willing to talk about something so hurtful to her. "As friends." Asher chuckled with a smile patting her hands again.

Violet let a out a sigh of relief..well at least she was turned down. Violet wasn't sure she would be able to handle that. Even though she wasn't looking for anything more than friendship she still didn't think she could handle rejection. That's probally why she hadn't made any new friends or had any boyfriends since. "That's great. Where would you like to eat lunch?" Violet was trying to think of all the places in Diagon Alley that they could eat lunch. "Would it be too much to ask if my son joined us?" Violet didn't want to push the matter, but she thought it would be best for Kale to get out and meet new people as well. Even if it was just a friend from work.

Lunch, lunch. Home. No, too soon to bring a friend home for lunch, it'd be weird. And Ziva was going through one of her moody moments again about their parents, so that would definitely not be good to bring home guests unplanned. Muggle place wouldn't be a good idea either. And, though he didn't want to go to the Leaky now the kids were out for summer, Asher knew he'd end up choosing the Leaky anyway. "How about the Leaky?" he asked her before taking a sip of his coffee again. "Oh, sure! Bring Kale." Asher exclaimed, he was starting to get anxious for this lunch now, but it was a good anxious. "How about we meet at eleven thirty later?" He asked, though he was pretty flexible with time.

Violet smiled and nearly jumped out of her seat she was so happy. "Sounds great, I'm sure Kale won't want to stay long. Spending the day with his mom probally isn't his favorite thing to do." Violet giggled and then got up from her chair. "Well then I will see you at 11:30" Violet smiled one last time and then returned to work!

Asher stood up when Violet jumped up suddenly. He reached down and picked his purple mug up from the table as he scooted the chair in with his leg. "That's alright, it'll be great to meet the boy." Asher said nodding his head as he headed to the door behind Violet. "Yes, 11:30 it is." Asher nodded as they went their separate ways.

Ariadne Fischer walked into the break room. She was hoping to see a few people she knew on her Level, but no friendly faces so far.

Alex walked into the break room and needed a coffee. She got a coffee and her homemade biscotti, an Italian coffee cookie, and sat down. She waved to Ariadne, whom she knew.

Ariadne waved to Alex. She had met Alex a few days earlier, in the work cubicles. She grabbed a coffee and doughnut and came to sit with Alex.
Hi Alex, how are you? she asked.

" I am good, very busy though." she said. She took a sip of her coffee, mm coffee. "I wish they had espresso here." she said. "it is just great!" she added. "How are you?"

Bambi walked into the break room feeling tired and nervous. Despite having worked in the ministry for several months she still didn't know many people here. She looked around the room for a familiar face and unsurprisingly found no one. Sighing she sat down at an empty table, trying to look invisible. The others around her were chatting pleasantly but she was alone... as she had been since school. She shook her hid to rid herself of that thought as it brought back unpleasant memories, taking a sip of her coffee she pulled a copy of Time magazine, a muggle magazine to which she had become addicted to in her years living in the muggle world, out of her bag and began to read.

"Mmmm.... Expresso!" Ariadne exclaimed. "Yum. Have you heard of a muggle place called Starbucks? I go there a lot, they have the best cappuccino!" Ariadne hated making small talk, though she was surprisingly good at it.

"Hey, did you see that girl walk in?" Ariadne asked. "I don't want her to be alone; I didn't want to when I was new here. Remember, you came and talked to me? I think I'll go meet her, you should come!" Then Ariadne left the table and walked over to the unknown girl

"Hello!" said Ariadne. She had brought her donut and coffee over to where this girl was sitting; She was eager to make new friends. "I'm Ariadne; I work in the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committtee," she blabbered. "What division are you in?" Ariadne didn't think to pause to let the other girl talk, she wasn't anywhere near finished. "Ooooohhh, is that Time magazine? I read that all the time! What's in there today?" Ari finally pulled herself together, and paused to sip her coffee while waiting for the other girl to speak.
