Enough of my chit-chat, here's more: --- : Dear Ginny: Soon, it was October 30th. While Ginny spent time with Draco… time seemed to pass quickly. Hogwarts was going to have a huge Halloween feast, as always. “Are we gonna go out to the lake?” Draco asked Ginny turning potions the day before. She sighed. “I dunno… it might be a nice way to spend Halloween… but I do love the feast.” Draco nodded in agreement. “How ‘bout we stay for the first half of the feast, then leave when it gets boring?” he asked. “Sounds like a plan,” she answered. It was Halloween, and time for the feast. Ginny socialized a little, saying hello to fellow Gryffindors. Quietly, she ate and was relieved when she saw Draco leave the table. Ginny was quick to follow, not quite taking the normal five minutes before leaving. Once she made it to the tree and Draco came to her, he immediately hissed, “You were early.” “Sorry,” she shrugged, “I couldn’t wait.” Draco smirked at her. Ginny rolled her eyes. The two talked a little, mostly about how much everyone else in the school basically sucked and how vicious they could be. They laughed a little too, and soon it was late. Ginny gave Draco an awkward hug before leaving. He was slightly surprised and patted her back twice, even more awkwardly then her hugging him. She broke away, cheeks pink, and went back to the Gryffindor common room. She went up to the dormitory and undressed. As soon as she had slipped her nightgown on she heard clawing. “Simone?” she asked the cat who was clawing at the window. At the window there was something tapping. Picking up Simone, Ginny opened the window and a teeny brown owl fluttered in crazily. “Pig!” she squealed happily. “Pig! What’re you doing here?!” she asked, as if the little owl could answer. Of course, he couldn’t, and just stuck out his leg. Ginny nearly dropped Simone in order to hastily untie the letter. Simone didn’t like that much, and went right onto Ginny’s bed, spreading out and taking as much room as he possibly could. Ginny untied the letter tied to Pig’s foot. Oh, it would be great to hear from Ron, Harry, and/or Hermione. She wondered who had actually written. Dear Ginny, Hermione is telling me not to write to you, that it’s too dangerous… but I have to. I miss you so much. I figure we’re in a pretty safe spot now… and I’m sending Pig instead of Hedwig… less noticeable. Anyways… we’re doing alright. Sometimes going a little hungry, but nothing really tough so far. We think we’ve discovered where another horcrux is, but we’re still checking up on that. Can’t say much about it before Hermione kills me (though of course, she says hello and says she hopes Hogwarts is good and that she misses you). Ron also says hi and that he misses you, but I swear I miss you more then the two of them together. Please do send me a letter back (Pig knows to where), but keep it short and not TOO detailed, incase it gets intercepted… I hope you’re enjoying Hogwarts. Wish I was there. Love, Harry P.S. Please don’t tell your mother about this letter, she’ll know it wasn’t safe to send either… Ginny read it through a few times. Wow… funny enough, she had almost fogotten about Harry, Hermione, and her brother. Of course, they were always in the back of her mind, but lately she seemed to have stopped worrying about them, and missing them all the time. Getting the letter was a huge surprise. It took her a while to decide what to say to write back. Before she wrote the letter back, she thought about whether or not to tell Draco. Ginny was SURE Draco wasn’t part of the dark side anymore… but he never did like the ‘Golden Trio’ in the first place… |
HARRY'S LETTER TOTALLY RUINED IT!!!!! GOD! Ginny, just throw it in the fire and go kiss Draco. PAMS! Amie |

--- :Have any answers?: “What’s the harm in telling him? He doesn’t know where they are anyways.” Ginny finally decided, taking the letter with her to dinner. “Draco…” she said softly. “Mmm?” he asked, watching the lake. “I got a letter from Harry,” she said. Draco was instantly snapped to attention as he whipped his head to face hers. “What?” he asked. “I got a letter from Harry,” she repeated. Draco thought about this for a moment. “Why are you telling me this?” he asked. “I have no idea,” Ginny admitted. Draco thought for another moment or so. Ginny realized that Draco was actually quite thoughtful and sensitive, if he wanted to be. “Did you tell me because you want me to help you decide what to do? To write him back or not? Or what you want to feel? If you still love him or not?” he asked her. Ginny sighed. She didn’t know. “Have any answers?” she asked. Draco smirked and shook his head. “Sorry, but I don’t.” he shrugged. Ginny pouted, but Draco didn’t give him. She sighed and giggled a little bit. “I s’pose it was worth a try,” she shrugged. Draco shrugged in return. “Well, you better get back to writing to Potter.” As usual, he said ‘Potter’ very distastfully, though for some reason Ginny thought she heard a little bit more disgust then usual. “How do you know I am?” she asked spitefully. “Because you want to,” he told her, slightly sadly, getting up. Ginny sighed. “Yeah, but I have no idea what to say.” “How ‘bout you start with ‘Hey Harry, I’m running away to elope with Malfoy… later’.” He grinned at his own joke, and Ginny rolled her eyes. “Besides not being true, that might just give him, and my brother, and Hermione a heart attack.” Draco shrugged. “You’ll have to fit me in there somehow,” he told her. She knew he was right too, but didn’t admit it. “God, you have some ego,” she said instead. Draco smirked. “Comes with the charm,” he told her. Ginny laughed. “I s’pose I should go write now…” she said. Draco agreed as he helped her up. They hugged. It was slightly less awkward now. As she walked back to the common room, there was no doubt in her mind… Ginny liked Draco. “Dear Harry,” she began. |

Here's my next post. --- :Gryffindors and Slytherins can be friends: Ginny rewrote the letter several times. Finally she ended with what she thought was at least… acceptable, even if it wasn’t a great letter. “Dear Harry, do say hello to Hermione and my brother for me. And I wish you all luck. I miss you as well, of course, I think about you all the time… I’m finding no friends at Hogwarts anymore without you guys. Your friends aren’t my friends anymore, I’ve grown apart from my old friends… and you’all are gone… I s’pose… that’s what drew me closer to someone else… You’d never expect who it was. Again, luck to you all. xoxo Love <3, Ginny” she wrote. It wasn’t at all specific about Draco. She couldn’t bring herself to do it. She wasn’t embarrassed of him or anything, but it just wasn’t something the trio would approve of, and she didn’t want to worry them. Harry’s letter also said not to be specific anyway… Ginny was just taking that to the next degree… And sure, she lied a little bit about missing him all the time and all, but that was alright. It was a little white lie. Nothing that would harm anyone. --- “You didn’t tell him?!” Draco nearly exploaded. Ginny had sent Pig off last night with the letter. Ginny shrunk where she stood. “I couldn’t do it! You know what his reaction would be! And he said not to be specific anyways!” Ginny tried to excuse herself. “Ginny… are you embarrassed?” he asked her, perfectly calm… a weird change from only a few seconds ago. “Well… no, but… how many people have YOU told we’re friends?” she challenged him. “No one, but no one’s asked either.” “He didn’t specifically ask about you.” “No, but he asked what was going on. Us going from loathing each other to becoming friends is certainly SOMETHING,” Draco reminded her. Ginny was ashamed. “Look. I couldn’t do it. What would happen if he got distracted and died? I’d feel terrible. And yes… I know that’s a little… far-fetched… but honestly, you know how he’d react. I don’t know what he’d do,” she sighed. This was certainly not an answer, solution, or the end in anyway, but Draco was giving up for now, and Ginny was greatful. She sighed and sunk down near the tree. It was mid-November now, and awfully cold. Ginny had to wear her warm robe over all her outfits to keep warm, and often a scarf as well. “We need to find a new spot,” she said desicively. “Hm??” Draco asked her. “Yeah, it’s cold out here… we need somewhere indoors.” “How ‘bout the Room of Requirement?” Draco offered. Ginny nodded. “Sounds good. Just think… ‘I need a place to go where Gryffindors and Slytherins can be friends’. No one else is bound to be there, anyways.” “Good idea. See you there tomorrow,” he helped her off the ground where they sat and pulled her into a hug. Dinnertime was always their time to meet and talk, she’d see him tomorrow. |

--- :He wasn’t a Malfoy: The day was boring. As usual, the most interesting part was potions… which was odd, considering when Snape was professor she hated it. Of course, then there was dinner… which was pretty interesting. She walked past the Room of Requirement thinking ‘I need a place to go where Gryffindors and Slytherins can be friends.’ On her third time by, a door appeared. She balanced her little tray of food between her hand and her hip while she opened the door. Draco was laying on a little couch lazily. “You’re late,” he told her idly. “Sorry,” she mumbled. Draco yawned. “What took you?” he asked her, moving over and making room for Ginny on the couch. There was a nice little table to put her food on. “Rachel,” she said, sighing. Rachel was one of Ginny’s old friends. Now, she did nothing but give Ginny a hard time. “What’d she do this time?” he asked. Draco was familiar with Rachel by now… through so many conversations he and Ginny had had. “She comes out of the Great Hall with me asking where I go everyday. And I said ‘out’ so she asks if I go with you, since you leave every day too… and I asked why it was any of her damn business and she was just picking a fight, so I pulled out my wand on her, and she runs to get Professor McGonagoll…. I ran the over here,” Ginny ended in sobs. The girl wouldn’t stop tormenting her, even with stupid little things like that. “Shhh,” Draco said, wrapping her into a hug, “shhh.” Ginny’s cries were muffled into his shoulders. “It’s alright… she’s nothing,” “I thought she was my friend,” Ginny finally said, her voice still stifled. Draco eased up on her a little, but still kept his arms around her. It was comforting to Ginny, Draco was strong, and he held her like he could protect her from anything in the world. “No. She’s nothing,” Draco told her again. Ginny couldn’t help but smile. “Thank you,” she said softly. Draco nodded at her. She snuggled her head back onto his shoulder and closed her eyes. Draco looked at Ginny longingly. He didn’t say anything, only breathed, watching her head move up and down on his chest. He hated to admit it, but there was just something about Ginny that attracted him to her. Perhaps it was that even underneath all the bitterness she harnessed, she was still good at heart… or maybe it was just the way she expressed that sourness. Or maybe it was just that she was absolutely gorgeous… how could he have not ever seen that before?? It was so… evident now. Draco then thought about his family. They couldn’t really care… Ginny Weasley was from a very pureblooded family after all, even if they were ‘blood traitors’. And with Lucius in Azkaban… well, Narcissa wouldn’t mind much. Draco held Ginny closely. What’d he care about family and bloodlines anymore, anyways? Absolutely nothing. He wasn’t the bad boy anymore, he wished he could shed the name of ‘Malfoy’ but he very well knew he couldn’t. He would stay a Malfoy by last name, but at heart, he wasn’t. Draco didn’t know what he was, but he wasn’t a Malfoy. |
Stupid Rachel. I love that name, but the girl sucks. PAMS! Amie |
That was so sweet. GOOD DRACO ITS ABOUT DANG TIME, you should have noticed you didn't want to have the last name malfoy ages ago you shouldn't have thought o f that now. but you should have known that Ginny was a great pure blood earlier. but none the less i love the chapter, Oh and i hope harry dosn't come into the picture. -sarah |

And the next chapter... --- :What would her mother say?: Ginny was, to say the very least, confused. She loved Harry, but she found herself having to remind herself of this more and more often. Harry wasn’t there when she cried, Harry wasn’t there to kiss her good-night, or to help her with her homework. He wasn’t there when she just needed a hug. He wasn’t ever there, but that wasn’t his fault. He was out saving the world… muggle and wizarding from the worst Dark Wizard in history. That was something, wasn’t it? Ginny stayed in her dormitory that Saturday and cried. Of course it was something that he was saving the world, and even though she knew it was selfish… she wanted more. She wanted a boyfriend to be there. Sure, Harry was noble, but he wasn’t THERE. Oh, it was so confusing. Not that it really mattered much anyways. Draco didn’t like her as any more then a friend. Plus, what would her mother say? Ginny Weasley dating a MALFOY?! Oh, she’d never hear the end of it. If not from her mom, her father or brothers would complain… especially Ron. And Harry, what would it do to Harry? Hermione would never approve either, but what did Ginny care if they approved? Who she dated was her business… and if she had any shot with him… Ginny would allow herself to like Draco as more then just the friends they admitted to being. Ginny and Draco had no idea that they were the sole basis of each others’ thoughts for the next three weeks. Now it was mid-December. The pair continued to see each other twice every day, in Potions and at dinner. Draco couldn’t get enough of her, he wanted to see her more. “Hey, how about we start eating lunch together?” Draco asked her. This completely shocked Ginny, but in a good way. “Sure,” she said happily. It wasn’t like she talked to anyone else anyway. It was almost Christmas and everyone was getting into the spirit, especially the Gryffindors. The common room was already decked out in it’s green and (mostly) red splendor. It was almost Christmas break. Ginny was trading between plans… to stay at Hogwarts, bored to death, or to go home to the burrow, bored to death. Not much of an option. Draco, of course, would be going back to Malfoy Manor. That would leave Ginny alone for the holidays. Home wouldn’t be much better though, but maybe if she went home she’d be allowed to visit Fred and George. As she was debating on what to do, she heard a tap on the window and saw Simone scratching at the window. The last time this happened… Ginny jumped up and scrambled to open the window. “Pig!” A letter from Harry! The little bird fluttered around the room. Ginny swore it was like a rabbit on crack. Finally, Pig settled down, Ginny laughed at him. She untied the letter and sat on her bed. Simone came over to her and sat on her lap while she read. Oh, Gin… this trip is unbearable without you. The only thing is that I’m comforted by knowing that you’re safe. Who’s the new friend? Nevermind, you don’t have to tell me, if you don’t want to. Our search is going well, but I can’t say to much about it. I miss you more then anything else. Of course … I have Ron and Hermione, but upon finding out that they’re dating, they’ve mostly taken to snogging in their spare time. I s’pose that’s to be expected though. Anyways, how’s Hagrid and the other professors? Expect they miss Hermione most of all… haha. I hate making you wait for me, but I do love knowing that you’ll be there when I come back. Sorry so short, but Hermione’s yelling. I love you, Harry Ginny sighed. She needed to write back, but didn’t know what to say. She took the letter to Draco. “Lucky,” Draco muttered. “What?” Ginny asked. “That he didn’t ask you about your ‘friend’ or you know I would have insisted you tell him,” he said calmly. “When did you turn so honest?” Ginny asked him jokingly. Draco smirked at her, handing Ginny a piece of parchment and a quill. “Write,” he told her, “don’t keep Potter waiting.” Ginny nodded in agreement. “What should I say, though?” Draco shrugged. “Tell him about classes,” he suggested. Ginny thought that was a good start. Harry, I miss you too, of course. Sorry about Ron and Hermione, but you knew that would happen sooner or later. She couldn’t help but think bitterly that at least they had their lovers. I’m glad your quest is going well, the sooner it’s over with the sooner you’ll be back. The battle will all be over soon, I’m sure of it. The cities are already starting to prepare. We all have faith in you, Harry. In case I don’t hear from you, have a Happy Christmas. I’ve enclosed a small gift… it’s a very thin necklace. I know you’re not much into jewlery… but I thought you’d like it… it has a snitch on it. Enjoy. xoxo <3s Ginny Well… she almost meant every word. After enclosing the small necklace with the letter in an envelope, she tied it to Pig’s leg. She kissed the top of his feathery head and whispered in the little hole that was his ear. “Bring this to Harry Potter, and have a safe trip.” After that, he was off. |
Oooh, Harry Potter with a necklace. Sounds interesting... even a little hot, haha. PAMS!! Amie |

--- :Mm, hold on to me: Two days before Christmas. Ginny still had no idea what she was doing. Mrs. Weasley begged for a decisive letter, so she could see another child if Ginny wasn’t going to come. Ginny decided just to let her parents go. They’d go see Bill, or Charlie, or just visit the twins. She’d just… stay at Hogwarts. It was dinner time, time to talk to Draco about the day’s daily horrors. She sat on the couch of the Room of Requirement. It wasn’t often that HE was late, normally Ginny was later (though they stopped worrying about the five minutes between leaving ages ago). Draco came in, without food, breathlessly. “What’s wrong?” Ginny asked. Normall, Draco wasn’t hassled. Being a seventh year… and a convicted as a felon, she could see exactly why. “You’re staying here for Christmas, right?” he asked, still out of breath. She nodded. “How about- would you like to-?” “Yes?” she asked him, not quite understanding. “I had a thought… Would you like to come to Malfoy Manor for the holidays with me? It won’t be my family… my mother will be, er, visiting my father the whole week… but I’m still going home,” he finally spluttered. Ginny was speechless. After a few minutes, Draco had finally built up enough anxiety to last the rest of the year. “Well…?” he asked. Ginny hadn’t even realized she hadn’t answered. She blushed a little, but smiled. “I’d love to,” she finally answered. Draco broke out into a grin. “I’m glad,” he said, with a sigh of relief. --- The students got off school a day before Christmas. Ginny had finished packing her trunk, and she wheeled it down to the Great Hall, where she was meeting Draco. Lucky for them, Draco already had an apparation liscense. Even luckier for Draco was that after his crime he was still allowed to use it, being under age and all. Though, now he was of age, and able to use the liscense freely. Worked out perfectly. Draco offered to take Ginny’s bag, but she declined. He was taking her to his house, she could take her own bag. They walked outside the Hogwarts gates (since of course, they couldn’t apparate inside them) and traveled to Hogsmeade with the rest of the students going on the train. Once out of the remains of the magic barriers at Hogwarts, Draco turned to Ginny. “Mm, hold on to me.” He said, rather quietly. Ginny smirked. She took his hand willingly, and held her suitcase in the other. There was an uncomfortable squeezing feeling and a pop. In a flash, the sensation was over and there was another pop. Draco whispered softly in her ear, “Welcome to Malfoy Manor.” |
