In fact, it was nice to not have to pick apart someone’s guarded words for a change. ”Aye,” he nodded in response to her comment about his favorite job. ”’Twas a fun job,” and just for the briefest of moments, Conley’s Scottishness was really noticeable. ”It was the challenge that was fun. But it was also dangerous.”
There was nothing wrong with a desk job, but he completely understood her hesitations for the work. ”Well, you’re in a good place to start. I’m sure you can learn a lot from working with Miss Bones. She afterall,” The lift doors opened and Conley motioned her through ”Works with a lot of departments. Perhaps one of them will catch your fancy.”
Conley followed Ashery into the lift and grabbed hold of a handhold as the doors closed. He shifted the scrolls around again, making sure they were still snug under his arm. He began to answer her question as the doors closed. ”It has its moments,” he said dryly. In fact, dealing with the Minster’s behavior and its effects on their political allies was one of them. But how to really answer her? ”I was looking for a challenge of a different sort,” he proffered up as the doors closed and the lift began moving.
The traveling time gave him some time to think. Not that it was a long time. The lift zoomed around quickly and soon they were coming to a rather abrupt halt. As the doors began opening, Conley decided it didn’t hurt to be honest. ”And for family reasons. Less traveling, more availability.”

Hogwarts RPG Name: Kassandra Sutton Graduated | | Ravenpuff | Part Ninja | Boat Rocker | Exhausted Pigeon | She listened and nodded as he spoke, following him to the next lift and continuing on with their journey. She wondered who would have ever wished to design such a strange method of getting from one floor to another. Sure, the building was big and there were a lot of departments, but in all the years the Ministry had been around, some brilliant witch or wizard could have come up with a better way. "It will be nice being able to check out so many different departments." She held on as the lift zoomed on its path. At the mention of family, she wondered what it would be like for her when she had a family. She'd have to find a boyfriend first, but she did hope to one day have kids. "Do you have a large family? With kids and all?" Maybe he even had a crup or another fun pet. She'd always wanted a pet crup, but her parents never really allowed pets in the house. It was hard enough talking them into letting her keep her owl inside on the cold winter days. "I can see why you wouldn't want to travel as much, or have a dangerous job, with family at home." Just as she finished, the lift came to a stop and the doors opened once more. She peered out into the corridor, but had no idea where they were, so she decided to wait for Conley to lead the way.

[color=sienna]Conley exited the lifts, shifting around the catch of parchments under his arm. "This way," he said turning to the left. He began walking down a long corridor.
A frown crossed his face as Ashrey asked about his family. "No, not particularly." In fact, in his own home, there was just him and his owl. Conley didn't like talking about Elodie. After all, how did one talk about their deceased wife without bringing a huge damper on the conversation? "My elder brother just had a baby. That will make three...nephews, I mean." He cleared his throat, a tick he had when uncomfortable with his own emotions. Time to change the subject. "What about you? Big family? Any brothers? Sisters?"
Conley began to climb up a set of stairs.
