There will be times when the workload may be overwhelming and employees might be required to stay over and complete certain tasks. Never fear, though! An area has been set up off the Atrium employees to nap and get their required sleep (because the Ministry cares about their employees. Ideally shaped, each individual "sleep pod" resembles an upright egg, filled with cushions, pillows, and blankets; the perfect picture of comfort in a setting away from home.

You know what was better than sitting at a desk doing paperwork? Not doing it. Without a doubt in the mood to procrastinate a little bit longer, the Senior Auror had preoccupied himself with enjoying lunch in the food court and was taking the 'long way' back to level two. He had stopped to look at the fountain and then aimlessly perused the gift shop, ultimately coming out empty-handed as his blue eyes fell upon the relaxation area.

The area was something he typically avoided simply because he had plenty to do at his desk or out in the field. Today, however, the sleep pods were beyond tempting. Surely a little power nap would be fine. The paperwork could wait another twenty minutes or so.

Nonchalantly, Frankie walked beside one and clambered inside. Within minutes he had dozed off, snoring like a graphorn.

A moment of peace was all this Ministry worker needed. It was, as to be expected, extremely noisy in the daycare at despite Allie loving the bubbling atmosphere and being a extrovert there were times when she just needed to settle down in the quiet and reset. She was therefore grateful that the Ministry provided these relaxation pods for that exact purpose although napping wasn’t on her agenda.

She had nestled herself in one of these pods during her hour lunch break and was gently perusing a wedding magazine she had brought along with her for inspiration. The former Gryffindor wasn’t much of a reader in general, she much preferred to be active and sporty and would often be found playing Netball with her local women’s team, but with her upcoming nuptials and still so much planning to do she felt that at least getting an idea from the picture perfect weddings in print would help in some way.

Only her peaceful planning time was being disrupted by the loud snore coming from the pod next to her. She let it go on for a while, everyone deserved a decent rest after all but once it had been ten minutes and the snoring was only progressing she felt the need to gently knock on the side of the egg.

The snoring carried on as he progressed deeper into slumber. Soon enough the blond was dreaming; one minute he was scaling a mountain in Tibet, the next he was enjoying a fancy meal with his wife, and after he was in the middle of a forest tracking down a dark wizard. Then the knocking came, which did seem a bit odd given his current location. But the man pressed forward... then there was that knock again... not a door in sight... and yet another knock... what if...

Blue eyes slowly opened, the snoring coming to an end. The cushions, pillows, and blankets within the sleep pod were a stark contrast to his dream world, and it took a moment for him to get his bearings. He then poked his head out of the pod, instantly taking note of the younger woman who was standing there.

"Oh, umm, sorry," Frankie said to her. "Were you waiting for this pod? Hopefully I wasn't in there too long."

Allie wasn’t usually one to complain, she worked with children after all and having a high tolerance and a lot of patience was pivotal in getting through the day. She WAS however a former Gryffindor and approaching people wasn’t something she found particularly difficult to accomplish. Extroverted in nature and confidant around people, Allie was the sort of person who could start a conversation with any old randomer on the street. She would, if she was in his position, want to know she was creating a racket and disturbing other people’s peace.

But then again a lot of people weren’t like her and might get offended by the truth.

Waiting for the pod she was not, in fact she was quite content in her own little cocoon. It was more a concern for him and his rather loud nasal cavities that had her knocking for his attention. “No I’m not waiting” she smiled in an attempt to soften the blow of what she was about to say. “It’s just you’ve been snoring.. loudly. I was making sure you were aware.” She followed the statement up with a laugh to show that she wasn’t exactly mad about it. Maybe the Ministry needed to soundproof these things but then again it wouldn’t be helpful during an emergency should there be one.

“It seemed like it must’ve been a great dream though.”

A fleeting look of puzzlement appeared on his face when the woman stated that she was not, in fact, waiting on him to depart from the pod. There hadn't even been mention of him being in there for too long, and a quick glance down at his watch confirmed as much. He had only been in there an extra five minutes longer than he had intended. So what was the purpose for -- Oh.

The blond too couldn't help but laugh, joining the younger woman. "Yeah, my wife comments on my snoring all the time," he responded, not at all bothered that the woman standing before him was another person that had pointed out such a thing to him. "Apologies for the loudness." His words were sincere. Not everyone was accustomed to such hoarse sounds, and it especially wasn't meant to be heard in an area meant for people to take a little snooze in peace.

"Yeah, it was," he replied. "But it was about time I was woken up anyway. The paperwork I have still to do isn't going to do itself, unfortunately." He then held out a hand. "Frankie Paton, by the way."

“Thankfully my fiancé has never mentioned me making any unnecessary noises in my sleep otherwise I think I’d be mortified” she laughed. She’d think that perhaps Matty was just being kind and saving her the embarrassment but then again it was the sort of relationship where they could tease one another without judgement. “It’s okay, I thought I’d save you the trouble of having to face the next angry worker trying to sleep.” She was sure there were some types around here who wouldn’t take too kindly to their naps being disturbed.

“Oof paperwork” the young woman grimaced. “Thank goodness I don’t have to do much of that.” It was more about the entertainment of the children, enriching their days with fun and games and making sure everyone was happy. A desk job could never be for her but that being said she was particularly good with communicating with others, just perhaps more talking and less of the writing. “Perhaps someone ought to create a method of doing paperwork in your dreams.” Imagine how much productivity would increase if that were the case.

As for introductions? The blonde leaned over and shook the gentleman’s hand with her own, her handshake surprisingly firm for a dainty looking blonde. Perhaps it was the numerous years playing netball and rounders that did it. “I’m Allison McKinley. Most people call me Allie. I work in the daycare.” She felt that was pertinent information when meeting others who worked under the same roof.

His laughter continued when the woman mentioned that her fiancé hadn't divulged any odd noises sounding from her while sleeping. "Sounds like the man is completely enchanted by you, noises or not," he commented lightly. "And thank you for the wake-up call. Handling angry Ministry workers is not something that is in my job description. Already busy enough with apprehending angry criminals."

Seeing the grimace on her face was something that he appreciated. He felt the same way about the stack that was sitting on his desk. Frankie truthfully hoped that he'd be called onto the field by the time he made it back up to Level Two. "That would be a live-saver, that would. Maybe the Experimental Charms Committee can develop that, or just create a spell that'll make the paperwork do itself."

The handshake had more of a grip than he had anticipated, but no signs of that realization were shown on his face. "It is nice to meet you, Allison. How are things going at the daycare? It's been a while since I last stepped in there, with my kids all now being at Hogwarts."
