Welcome to Diagon Alley, Middle Welcome to Diagon Alley, Middle! Diagon Alley is well known as the major magical shopping district for the United Kingdom region. Unlike its “sister” district Knockturn Alley, Diagon Alley is a family friendly spot for taking care of all ones needs pertaining to the magical realm. Diagon Alley can easily be divided into three parts, beginning at its entrance (the north end), and ending at the south end, with an area in the middle containing fewer shops than it does other types of businesses. In this area one can find a great number of important places. Gringotts Bank boasts its presence, and a short ways away you can find the Owl Post Office. The headquarters of the Daily Prophet, the Wizarding World's premier news source, can be found in this area as well. Wander down the street, treading lightly at the Corner of Knockturn and Diagon Alley. Should your thirst swell suddenly, take pause at the Cafe with the Coloured Umbrellas and get yourself some refreshment. Be careful to not step on any toes in the crowd on your daily wanderings!
The following links will guide you on your way through this area. Knockturn Alley With dimly lit streets, dark wizards, and child-eating creatures roaming about, Knockturn is without a doubt the darkest part of Diagon. If you didn't feel the change of air when standing at the entrance, you certainly will once in the street. It's best not to venture down here if you have no business, else you'll find there's no returning to Diagon. Gringotts Wizarding Bank The currency of the realm is currency nowadays. But do you have the right currency? The Wizarding World deals in Galleons, Sickles and Knuts, not Muggle money. Stop in at Gringotts to exchange whatever money you may have pocketed on your travels for its weight in magical money. Or make a withdrawal from your vault, should that better suit you. Either way, be careful to not cross the goblins. They won't like it. The Daily Prophet The headquarters of the paper with the name known all over the United Kingdom (and possibly the world). Journalists and photographers bustle in and out as their assignments demand, but if you're lucky you might manage to catch the Editor-in-Chief before he disappears after another lead. Owl Post Office The British branch of the Owl Post Office has been servicing witches and wizards without owls of their own for centuries. The building perpetually smells of owl poo no matter how hard the staff works to keep the place clean, and owls of all breeds can be found flying to and from the building on a constant. Stop by to get your mail sent off, or just to visit the owls. Just don't ruffle any feathers, or you just might get bit. The Middle of the Street Somehow managing to be clean and rather nice despite the heavy traffic through it, this area of the street begins at the mouth of Knockturn Alley (stray not, unless you're aware of the consequences) and ends at the Owl Post Office; past this, there is the South End of the Street. Pause at the small cafe, if time permits. Corner of Knockturn & Diagon Alley Arguably the darkest place in all of Diagon, this corner carries the tension of a thousand awkward conversations. One can practically feel the change in the air as they pass by the meeting point of these two magical shopping areas; take care not to accidentally venture down Knockturn. You may not return. Cafe with Coloured Umbrellas A lovely little corner cafe with many tables set up outside for passersby to rest and recuperate at. Sit beneath the coloured canopies and sip on a beverage, or nibble on a small snack before heading back into the crush of the crowd on your way to work. Please remember that Snitchseeker Site Rules, as well as Diagon Alley Rules, apply at all times. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the Diagon Alley Questions thread.
