*taps mic* Hello? Is this thing on? Great! Helloooooo and welcome to another Member of the Month interview. This month we have the delightful Ginevra with us! Would you mind introducing yourself and telling us a bit about yourself?
Well, hello everyone. My name's Ginevra and I was named after the Da Vinci painting "Ginevra de Benci." I am 34 and I live in Western Australia.

You were?! If I’m being honest, I always assumed that your username was just a little twist on Ginny’s name in HP. But now I know the true meaning and it’s so much cooler! What’s it like living in Australia? I’ve always wanted to visit so I'm a bit jealous that you live there ngl.
Thank you, hon. Some have assumed over the years that I was named after Ginny Weasley, but I point out that I was born 10 years before the first book was published. Australia’s weather is complicated. All four seasons can happen in one day. Here it is Autumn at the moment and it is quite cool temperature-wise. Sadly, there have been fires and floods over the past few months. The resilience of Australians is just amazing.

Mmm that’s true. If anything, she’s more likely to have been named after you! That does sound quite intense with the weather changing so often. And it is truly heartbreaking about the fires and floods; I definitely agree that the resilience of Australians is just incredible! <3 While we’re still on the topic on Australia, what would you say is your favourite thing about living in Australia? Is it the people, the food, the nature, something else entirely?
She was named after me. I'm kidding! Favourite thing about Australia? I like the sense of humour and spirit of many of the population here. We will help others in times of need. The food is great because Australia is a multicultural nation so there is food from all sorts of nationalities. The animals are great too. Have you heard of quokkas? Go look up a pic of them and feel your heart melt.

Rea- Oh, I almost believed you! Lol. That’s a wonderful thing, and I’m definitely curious about the food. I haven’t heard of quokkas. I will look them up immediately! *does that* Okay. SO. I had no idea what to expect but they are SO DARN CUTE. Everyone, you must look them up now, too, and bask in the cuteness! Okaaay, I don’t have a cool segway, so I’m just going to dive into one of the questions I want to ask you haha. Whaaat are some of your hobbies? In other words, what do you enjoy doing when you’re not on SS?
Well due to my health issues I can't do much, so my hobbies are reading, watching TV/films (I'm obsessed with WandaVision), listening to music and playing with my cat. Those activities help me with my mental health, which has been crucial considering recent times.

Those are still great hobbies, though, and definitely ones that help with my mental health as well! Except playing with your cat, of course. Sadly I can’t do that. I’m sure everyone who’s reading this would looove to know a little more about your cat, though. What’s their name and breed? What are they like? And also, because I love music SO much, who are your favourite artists?
My cat is named Blossom and she is a domestic short-haired cat. She has black fur with bits of white fur on her belly, under her chin, chest and paws. Blossom loves her tummy rubs, cuddles, playing with her toys (especially the ones with catnip), sleeping and food. My favourite music artists are The Beatles, The Mamas and The Papas, Cass Elliot, Weyes Blood, Queen, Pink Floyd, David Bowie (just to name a few). Oh, and I love the song "Agatha All Along" from WandaVision.

Aww, Blossom sounds like an absolute sweetheart! Those are some great artists! There are a couple that I’m not as familiar with so perhaps I’ll check them out later. And “Agatha All Along” is a great song - it cracks me up! Aaaaalrighty then. I have some SnitchSeeker related questions for you now. The people want to know! How did you find our wonderful site, and what was it that made you stick around?
Blossom is part of the family and very loved. I recommend you listen to the song "Andromeda" by Weyes Blood. I listen to it constantly. How did I find SnitchSeeker? Honestly, I can't remember. It was probably in order to find fellow fans at the time. I've stuck around because everyone here is really nice. I've made friends and the RPs (Hogwarts/Ministry) are fun.

I have no doubt that she is! Ooooh, okay, I’ll definitely do that! I think that’s the same for many of us who have been around a while, honestly. I don’t really remember the specifics of how I found SS either but I’m so glad we both found it and are here doing this interview now. *wipes a tear away* For sure! The community we’ve created here is something rather special, isn’t it? Would you say the Hogwarts and Ministry RPs are your favourite areas of site? If so, why, and if not, what is your favourite area of site?
Aww, I know what you mean, hon. The SS community is like another family, you know? I love the Hogwarts and Ministry RPs because I can be creative, or at least I can try. I also like playing the games at WWW as it keeps my mind active and relieves boredom/stress.

It really is. The WWW games are a great way to relieve stress and boredom, so I can deeeefinitely understand that. And I’ve read some of your RP posts and they are so creative! Speaking of RPing, your character, Daisy Swann, recently made the ultimate sacrifice in our recent Third Wizarding War plot. That must have been such a difficult decision to make and it made me tear up reading that post! Do you want to talk a little about Daisy and what she meant to you and what she stood for? <3
Thank you for your lovely comment about my RP posts. You're very sweet. It was a bit of a difficult decision to sacrifice Daisy, but then I thought to myself, well she was a very brave young woman who fought Inferi when she was in her Fourth Year so she would sacrifice herself to protect/help others. Daisy may have been a Hufflepuff, but I feel that she was an amalgamation of all the houses. Her biggest trait was her loyalty which is why she was a Hufflepuff but she also had the intelligence of a Ravenclaw, the bravery of a Gryffindor and there was a bit of the cunning associated with Slytherin. Miss Swann was hard-working, loyal and a dedicated woman and that showed when she was a student and when she worked at the Ministry. There were tragedies in her life, but she persevered until the very end.

My pleasure! Our characters are all very dear to us so I can imagine it was, but I can understand how you came to that decision. What a beautiful tribute to such a wonderful and brave character!! I. Am. Emotional. R.I.P. Daisy Swann ;____; <33 Making a bit of hop now from SS characters to HP characters, whoooo are your favourite characters from the series and why?
My next student character might or might not have a connection to Daisy, but I've only just started forming them and I've sort of hit a bit of a snag, but I'm determined to work it out. Favourite characters? Oh, goodness. I love Andromeda Tonks because she married for love and she showed tremendous bravery and strength when she lost her husband, daughter and son-in-law. I actually became a fan of Andromeda's when I saw a HP fan video. I am also a fan of Nymphadora who was such a fun, brave young woman that I still miss.

Really?! That’s exciting! Oh, I hope you manage to work that snag out, I’m so looking forward to meeting your next student character! Both Andromeda and Nymphadora are excellent characters who I wish we’d seen more of honestly and I love your reasons for why they’re your favourites. Tonks (Nymphadora) was one of my many favourites growing up, too, because of how quirky she was. In terms of the book and movies, each format has its pros and cons, but which do you prefer, and why?
Thank you. With the question about my preference between the books and the films, I think the books just beat the films because for example there was a lot more Tonks (and Remus/Tonks) in the books whereas in the films there was not much. It is a hard question to answer, honestly.

Yeaaah, I know what you mean. It is a pretty difficult question to answer. There are so many factors to consider! It was definitely nice that we got more of Remus and Tonks in the books, though! I was always a huge Ronks shipper. ;_; Do you have a favourite HP book and HP movie? If you do, why are they your favourites?
I don't have a favourite Potter book/film, I'm afraid.

That’s a great word, I love that choice! Whaaat is your favourite word and what does it mean?
Wow! Fantastic question. My favourite word is Petrichor which is the smell of the earth when the first rain has fallen after a dry spell.

*sighs dreamily* That’s a great word and I looooove the meaning of it. It’s such a nice smell! What is the square root of awesome?
The square root of awesome is WandaVision or more specifically The Scarlet Witch + Vision + Agatha Harkness.

Or rather, our previous Member of the Month has a question for your. Jay would like to know… Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I've had such a fab time talking to you, hon. Thanks for the question, Jay. In 10 years I (hopefully) see myself happy and having achieved my aspirations.
