Default Evidence and Pensieve Rooms

EVIDENCE & PENSIEVE ROOMS
The evidence and Pensieve rooms in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement are critical facilities within the Ministry of Magic, meticulously designed to house and manage crucial evidence related to magical crimes. Here evidence is cataloged with precision using enchanted tags and meticulous record-keeping spells, which allows for seamless tracking and retrieval during investigations and trials.

It features rows of enchanted cabinets and shelves that organise and catalog evidence, from enchanted objects to written testimonies, each protected by specialised containment spells. The ambient lighting, provided by floating, ever-glowing orbs, ensures that the room remains well-lit, allowing for meticulous examination of evidence without the risk of degradation from traditional lighting sources. Adjacent to the main area is a smaller, private chamber where lies a grand Pensieve, an invaluable tool for delving into the memories related to ongoing investigations. Shelves filled with labeled vials line the walls, some empty while others contain memories awaiting review.

Employees from other Ministry departments are strictly prohibited from this area, ensuring the utmost confidentiality and security of all stored materials. Protective enchantments and complex locking mechanisms guard the entrance, requiring specific authorization spells and identification charms to gain entry.

Damocles stepped up the magical door of the Evidence Room and tapped the magical lock with his wand. It began to rattle and grind until finally it unraveled and retreated into itself. The door then popped open with a click.

Damocles walked into the room, carrying two evidence bags. One was very small and transparent; containing a small black fiber. The other was large and made of manila paper. When he reached the appropriate shelf, he placed the evidence in its basket and waved his wand to enact the protective charms that would prevent others from tampering with it (even if they did somehow manage to get into the room itself).

Damocles then walked over to the other side of the room and opened a large filling cabinet. He flicked through the arrest files for about 20 minutes until he had pulled out a small stack and set each aside for further consideration.

He took his short list of criminal files over to a desk and chair. Taking a seat, he opened the first file and began to read. He was looking for any passing reference to magical creatures or theft of such. Most files to put aside. However, three of the files seemed to have peaked his interest because he retained them and put them into his work bag. The other files he returned to the filing cabinet with a flick of his wand.
