Hearing very faintly a knock at the door she gave James a final shove then shut the door and hurried to the front room. Right before opening the door she took an extra second to compose herself and get her hair straightened. Okay, now she was ready. She swung the door open. "Alex!" She said with a wide grin before pulling him into a hug. She was glad to see him again.
| Alex smiled at the sight of Lizzie and kissed her cheek as she hugged him. "I've really missed you." he said, squeezing her tightly. Once he let go, he handed the flowers to her. "I got these for you." he said with a smile. |

| She could feel her cheeks getting warmer after his kiss, Merlin, you think she'd get used to it by now! She released him and took a look at the flowers he had. "They're beautiful! I love them." Taking them from him she gestured for him to enter before going into the next room to find a nice vase. Maybe she would put it somewhere that wasn't so easily accessible to the other occupants of the manor. "So how's your brother and the baby?" She called to him from the next room. She might as well had started some small talk to fill the space that would otherwise be silent as she searched. |

| "Oh there you are." She said, sounding a little startled at turning and suddenly finding him standing there. This quickly disappeared as she grabbed the now potted plant and held it towards him. "What do you think?" At this point she was beaming just a bit at finding the right pot.
"And I'm glad to hear that! That baby really is precious you know..." She mused, making her way over to him. Once she was close enough she took hold of his hand and gave a subtle tug; an indication for him to follow her. "I have some lunch prepared for us in the kitchen." |

| Just as she thought; she did find the perfect pot, which was evident by his answer. She did have a way of finding things like that so it came as very little surprize to her and she set it on the table...for now anyway...
A reflective smile crossed her face at his enthusiasm for his niece. It wasn't very often that you saw a man being so crazy over children that's for sure. Eventually the conversation would come up and she was going to ask him his stance on the whole parenting thing.
Lizzie's face went bright red when he kissed her cheek again. At this rate she was going to have to go to her room and apply some extra makeup. The thought of blushing through the entire lunch was ridiculous! For now she would see how it went but if he got all romantic then she was going to have to excuse herself for a bit. Right, so with that decided she led him to the kitchen where there were plates of food set out. She took a seat then gestured for him to do the same. |

Lizzie opened her mouth to respond, feeling her cheeks burn again. She knew the reaction was coming the moment he finished his sentence but she was hoping she could have delayed it until she was safely upstairs. "I'm glad to hear that." Her lips curled into a shy smile as she pushed a few loose strands of hair behind her ear. Was she supposed to admit to the same thing? She didn't want to seem obsessed or anything. That might have made him leave and she didn't want that. |

After a while, he blinked, realizing he had been kinda...staring at her. Gah. What was his problem?! This was so embarrassing. He quickly turned to his food, taking another bite. "Um..." he began, wondering what to say next. He finally went with "H-how have you been?", his voice a bit shaky. Huh. Why was he so nervous all of a sudden?! Something really was wrong with him. "Oh I've been pretty good actually." It was nice to hear someone taking an interest in her for once. Dia wasn't bad when it came to that but the boys were another story altogether. She rolled her eyes at the thought of it. They were a hopeless case completely. "Been keeping busy when I can." And having strange thoughts but she wouldn't tell him that.
She watched him take a bite. "So what do you think?" Because she had spent hours on it. It wasn't normal for her to feel so weird about asking for an opinion. She was a realist. Things were pretty black and white and she could handle criticism fairly well but for some reason she knew that she would have felt terrible if he didn't like it. Her eyes latched on to his face, waiting for his response, hoping he couldn't see how anxiously she was waiting to hear what he thought. |
