As we all know by now, J.K Rowling wrote the fantastic Harry Potter series.
I got some of my inspiration from the book "Mrs Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children".
She watched as the children walked down the grey, cobblestone path that led to the future. Ms Verecent dabbed her eyes and waved to them solemnly as a new herd of young Peculiars raced into the Home. After a few minutes, when the old children were merely dots on the road, she turned to take care of the new children that had come to Ms Verecent's Home for Peculiar Children.
The children were happy that they were getting out of the time loop that kept them forever young and childish, but they were afraid to see what would happen outside. People might recognize them, even after fifty years. They walked hand in hand, to the invisible line they knew was there. Then the children crossed, and saw a busy street where their Orphanage used to be. The youngest one, Olivia, burst into tears.
It has been two years since the Peculiars left the Orphanage that had been standing fifty-two years ago. Now it is demolished, but stays strong in the time loop. Since then the children lived in a shabby hotel, fending for themselves with their powers and skill. Then, one day, they all got a letter that accepted them into Hogwarts school. Overjoyed, the children left for the Magical boarding school, never thinking that somebody could suspect them of being Peculiars, even though they had waited until all of Britain had forgotten about them.

SPOILER!!: Things You NEED To Know!
Alexandria Bloom can make fire in her hands, and walk through fire without getting burnt. She is the oldest of the Peculiars, being fifteen.
Vivienne can become invisible, but her clothes aren't invisible. She is fourteen.
Kiera is a mermaid, but only when her feet get wet. She is fourteen years old.
Victor Priestley looks normal enough - they all do - but he can lift anything from a feather to a house. And all at the age of thirteen!
Olivia can fly, but she hasn't learned to control herself yet. So she wears shoes with lead soles. Being the youngest, she is eleven.

But I Set Fire To The Rain
When Alexandria was little, she toured with her family in a circus. The act they did was called Bloomin' Magic! and featured the whole family. Her mother would first fly around the tent and hover above the audience, while her father did simple magic spells like dissapearing hats and turning brown hair purple. Then Alexandria would come out, making fire on her hands and dancing around. As the grand finale, Alex would walk through a large mass of fire while her father made himself dissapear, as well as her mother. They made quite a living out of that, but her father died when an elephant got loose. Her mother couldn't hide Alexandria's powers like Alex's father did (wiped their memories) so she left her daughter to the same secret school for Peculiars that she went to.

ATTENTION: We are starting!
Alexandria walked around the grey room that was accepted as the living room. There was a television and a lumpy couch with a stained coffe table in front of it, as well as a window that was so small, one could only see two stars when it was nighttime. There was also a small bed that Olivia occupied, the girl-shaped lump in the duvet breathing heavily. Alex looked hopefully at the red door that led to the room Vivienne, Kiera and herself shared... but it did not open.
Soon Victor would come bounding out of his room, since he was always the second to wake up. Alexandria walked into the kitchen that was once white, but now held a colour the shade of curdled cream. She mixed some instant oatmeal with water, and put the pot on the stove. None of her adopted siblings had experience in the kitchen - much less her - but at least Alex could never get burned if she used the stove. Besides, she had accumulated the skills to make instant oatmeal, tea, grilled cheese sandwiches and how to defrost a frozen pizza.
When the oatmeal had acheived it's potential consistency-wise, Alexandria spooned it into five bowls, adding what each person wanted. She loved cinnamon with oatmeal, Vivienne wanted lemon juice, Kiera liked hers watered down, Victor prefered slices of orange or apple, and Olivia needed a lot of sugar or honey. Alex set the table, and warmed the oatmeal up every few minutes with her hands.
Don't Cross the Book | who turned out the | Lights Lennox
For the first time in living memory, VivienneContinent was up before the others. Long before Alexandria had woken, Viv had slipped out of bed, stuffing pillows under her duvet to make it look like she was still asleep, and carefully climbed out of the window onto the roof. She loved sitting up there, and often did late at night. This was the first time she'd come up in the morning. She hadn't been able to sleep at all.
Viv sat there, still and silent as a statue, completely invisible, until she heard Alex get up and clatter about in the kitchen. Then she quietly went back down into their room, got dressed and went out into the kitchen brushing her long hair back, visible again. She didn't bother with a greeting, just sat down at the table and pulled her bowl towards her, pushing the oatmeal around with her spoon and occasionally taking a moody bite.
I will edit this post with a bio and post shortly, I just have an essay that needs to be done right now. I had not noticed everyone either put up bios or edited their posts with bios. This rp went down on the list and I literally thought it to be another casualty of the rp world. I am sorry I cannot do anything more right now but I will soon. Most likely tomorrow.
Victor woke with a yelp, he had been having a bad dream... The same reoccuring dream, of the clowns. He needed to grow out of that fear, but the dream would always come back to him every now and then. It sounded as though someone was already up, presumably Alex preparing breakfast, but it was most definately her... he could already smell the oatmeal. There was also the possibility of Vivienne being up as well, lurking around the house unseen, even after all of this time his adoptive sister still creeped him out slightly.
He needed to vent his 'Clown Dream' frustration in the only way he knew how, by breaking things. He launched a viscous kick at his bedside cabinet which flew into the surrounding wall, shattering and leaving a great dent in the foundations... that was satisifying. Alex would probably be mad, but he could handle it.
He rushed to the kitchen, where Alex and Vivienne were already at, muttering a quick "Morning," to his adoptive siblings and preparing his oatmeal with oranges, just the way he liked it...

Olivia yawned and stood up from out of her bed and wrapped her blanket around her body. She rubbed her eyes and walked into the kitchen and sat at the table and looked down yum, oatmeal with tons tons of sugar! She smiled up at Alex and said Morning Alex, thanks for the oatmeal. She turned to her other siblings who had entered the kitchen she said Morning Vivienne and Victor, did you sleep well? Vivienne was already dressed, Olivia was still in her pajamas. She took a bite of her oatmeal, it tasted good, the sugar melted into the oatmeal.

Alexandria Bloom acknowledged Vivienne's prescence by waving distractedly. Then, noticing the dark rings of purple under Viv's eyes, Alex decided to mention them. "Another sleepless night?" Was her indirect question, hoping Viv wouldn't scuttle away to sulk in the shared room.

Alexandria was just about to take a bite of her oatmeal when she heard a crash and a dull thunk. Victor was up. As the boy came out, he greeted her, which was more then what Vivienne had done. "Morning Victor. I hope you know you're going to be fixing whatever you've broken this time." Alex said, as calmly as one would say "Pass the salt" or "My name is Alex". She bet the thunk was the wall, too. She swore that if he made one more dent in the badly constructed foundation, the whole builing would come crashing down.

Oh good, Olivia was awake. She was the only one Alex could count on to be polite and sweet. "You're welcome, Liv." Alexandria said, ruffling the eleven-year-old's already messy hair. Liv had yet to annoy her this morning, and she hoped Kiera would follow suit. Something about today made Alex feel like everyone had to be on their best behaviour... or at least not tick her off.

She took another bite of her oatmeal, forgetting to blow on it... She screamed out and dropped her spoon, she whispered Opps! and grabbed a napkin from the table and clean up her mess. She smirked and hoped no one saw that inncident...Luckily her pajamas and blanket missed the accident too!

Viv finally looked up from her bowl at Alex's question. "What do you think?" she said, which was basically her way of saying 'why yes, a bit embarrassing that you noticed, but I have had a bad night yet again'. But of course Viv couldn't be that polite.
Viv rolled her eyes at the crash coming from Victor's room. When he came into the kitchen, she had to bite back a snide remark at how they could just cement all his furniture to the floor. Easy as that.
And then ... Olivia. All sunshine and daisies, as usual, which just seemed to make Viv's mood worse. She rolled her eyes again at the little pipsqueak's question. Did she look like she'd slept well?
Victor looked up from his oatmeal when Alex asked him the question, in which he noticed only a trace of sarcasm. "Erm... Yes, I can try to fix it," he said, thinking of the shattered cabinet, "The dent can be straightened out though..." he rambled on, not really knowing what he could say next.
When Olivia entered, Victor greeted her with a smile "Morning Liv, I slept okay..." Clowns he shuddered slightly, "...How about you?" he carried on with his oatmeal until his youngest sibling screamed, which made him jolt slightly and squeezed his spoon too hard into a mess. Damn...
Then Vivienne, he could feel her unspoken retort, you could always tell what she wanted to say even when she didn't speak. "You're just a ray of sunshine aren't you today?" he scowled at her, laced with sarcasm.

Oliva tried not to notice Viv roll her eyes at her but it was hard, what had she ever done to her. She smiled over at Victor and said Thats erm-good to hear, mine was fine too. She laughed when he made a mess and said Sorry Victor, heres some towels... handing over some towels. She tried not to laugh at Victor's comment about Viv becing a ray of sunshine, she succeded and instead had a big grin on her face...

Alex continued to much her breakfast. "Sorry, Mouse." She said. 'Mouse' was a nickname given to Olivia because of her size, and because she loved Mickey Mouse. As her sibling screamed out in an "Oh I Burnt My Tongue" way, Alexandria helped Liv wipe up the oatmeal. Alex then threw the wadded up napkins into the garbage can that was readily stationed by the TV.

Alex ignored Vivienne's moody retorts; she was used to it by now. "Hmm. Did you know that interrupted or impaired sleep can weaken your immune system and cause mood disorders like depression?" Alexandria said, hinting that Viv's snide-ness was caused by her lack of sleep. It was lucky that the only free channel in the motel was documentaries on health and nature, since that kept the siblings well educated. Alex took a particular liking to ones featuring doctors and paramedics, Viv seemed to like documentaries about lions killing gazelles, Victor loves specials about cheetahs and bears, Olivia likes colourful bird facts, and Kiera - wait a minute, where was she?
"Kiera has been sleeping in for hours. I wonder if she took a midnight swim." Alex said, hoping nobody had seen her sister in the public pool.

Olivia smiled at her nickname and said Thank you, Alex, She looked around she hadnt yet noticed that Kiera wasnt there. She said I think shes out swiming, I think... I walked past her bedroom, I dont think she was there She wondered if she should go check...Nah she wanted to finish her oatmeal..

Kiera entered the kitchen while drying off her hair from her morning swim in the lake, she wouldnt dare risk going to the public pool, way to risky. She just walked to the lake. She still had on her bathing-suit-so it appeared she was normal- and had her coverup on her arm which she stuck on her chair and sat down. She smiled at everyone and said Good morning, how did everyone sleep? She sat down next to Olivia and said Why such a big smile Mousie? She looked down at her oatmeal, perfect watered down just as she liked it! She turned to Alex and said Thanks for making breakfast, its just what I needed after my swim, breakfast is the most important meal of the day

Alex grinned at the appearance of her sister, but then frowned. "Did anyone see you there? Did you remember to never go near the west end?" Alexandria asked worriedly. There were dolphins in the west end, and therefore tourists, and therefore... cameras. Listening to Kiera's chatter, she remembered something. Yes, Kiera liked to watch documentaries on the eating habits of animals, especially sea creatures.
Alex had finished her oatmeal, so she washed the bowl in their old sink, dried it, and put it in the cupboard. Too bad the room didn't come with a dishwasher. As she was looking out the window, contemplating the sunny day, Alexandria noticed a frantic mailman stuffing thousands of letters into their apartment's letterbox. "HEY!" She shouted at the man, who promptly ran away, dropping letters as he went. Alex wondered if they were all for their apartment. Oh well, she would check the mail after breakfast. It probably wasn't even their box - who would ever give them mail? Ms Verecent had no idea where they were, and all the possible relatives they had would be long gone.
Victor smiled at Kiera as she entered the kitchen, "Morning Kiera!" he said through a mouthful of oatmeal and oranges, before glowering once more at Vivienne and finishing off his breakfast. Whilst he washed and dried his dish, he thought a moment... Why did he get a slight telling off for smashing his drawers, when Kiera had snuck off and could've potentially unveiled the family to the world?
His thoughts were disrupted when Alex shouted, he whipped around to see mounds of letters falling through the letterbox. "Are those for us?" he asked excitedly, they never got mail!

Viv had gone into a moody silence at Victor's remark and Alex's sleep suggestion. At least she hadn't retorted - contrary to popular belief, she didn't really want a fight. She just ate half her oatmeal then stood and dunked the rest in the bin before washing her bowl and spoon. She only ever ate half of anything - an old habit among the many she'd picked up at the circus in her early years.
Another old habit was that she always checked the mail for her name. Who knows, maybe her parents had finally decided to contact her? Unlikely, but not impossible. She turned invisible just for the heck of it, and glanced over Alex's shoulder. What she saw almost made her heart stop beating. "My name!" she shrieked, trying to grab the letter on which Vivienne Continent was written. The completely new sensation of excitement was rising in her chest. Finally!

Kiera answered Only a few fishes, and yes I stayed away from the west end I went to the other end and do you know what was there, tourists with their cameras so I had to walk all the way back and then I could finally get in the water! And Morning Victor!I saw something broken in your room, what did you smash this time? Haha, my swim was great...So was my walk... She finished her watery oatmeal and washed her plate accidentaly flicking water onto her feat, which were in flip-flops. Suddenly she was no longer standing but on the floor in mermaid floor. She had to control herself from cursing in front of Olivia-she was way too young for that. She looked up at Victor and Viv and asked Oo, is there one for me?? Who knows maybe someone cool had decided to write to her!
Victor was looking for a letter addressed to him, so he didn't realise what had happened to Kiera as she crashed to the floor. If Viv had a letter, then why wouldn't he? Someone might want to contact him... Then he found one!
"Yes!" he wooped, with an addressed letter clamped in his hand with a vice-like force. He found Kiera hers, before turning around to find a mermaid on the floor. He shook his head, [b]"You need to be more careful with water Keira," he said, before laughing aloud it was always funny to see a mermaid suddenly appear. "Anyway, here's you letter," he threw the letter down before turning to Alex...
*Everything I Know I Learned* *Adding Silently To The Noise*
Alexandria accepted the heavy letters with suspicion, since each of them were addressed quite specifically. For example, hers read: Miss Alexandria Bloom
Shantire Motel, Room 8B
The Room with the Red Door, Second Bed
And yet something made her trust the mysterious letters - possibly that they all hadn't received mail in five or four years - and she tore one of hers open. But before she could get to the first words written on the odd, yellowing paper, Kiera had turned into a mermaid and Vivienne was screaming and grasping maniacally for her letter.
The only ones under control were Olivia and Victor, so Alex didn't bother them. She trusted they would wait until everyone was ready for the letters. Alexandria rushed towards the bathroom, and found the hair-dryer. She plugged it into an outlet in the living room, letting the warm air turn Kiera back into a human. Alex swiftly unplugged it and sighed. "Let's all read our letters on three. One... two... three." She said, her eyes searching the paper. Her rushing eyes retained the key points from the letter; Miss Alexandria... magical school... Hogwarts... train... cauldron, hat, uniform, spellbooks, a wand. An additional two sheets of paper were stuffed inside her envelope: the first, a normal fifth-year requirements list. The second, a formal contract confirming that all expenses would be paid for by Hogwarts. Each of their signatures were needed on it.
Although quite cliche, this was the best day of Alexandria's busy life.

Olivia laughed while Kiera was being blow dryed, someone should be more careful with water...She took her letter and read her name in perfect cursive, Olivia Quirk. She loved reading her name, it had such awesomeness to it, even Viv had to admit. She opened the card when Alex said three, it said something about Dear Miss. Olivia Quirk you are hearby accepted to Hogwarts School for witchcraft and Wizardry... and then listed some other stuff, it was in the same perfect cursive that was on the front. She was still reading and she hadnt noticed she was beggining to float...

Don't Cross the Book | who turned out the | Lights Lennox
Viv ripped open her letter, not really taking in the suspicious exact lettering. Her heart fell slightly when she read the "Dear Miss Continent" part (no parent would address their child like that) but it picked up again as she read the bit about Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. "I'm a witch!" she mumbled, skimming through the rest of the letter, which included the information that she'd be a fourth-year. She glanced up at Alex, her brain finally catching up. "You think it's a hoax?" she asked bluntly. "A trick to get us out in the open? Or is this legit?"
Kiera looked up from the ground and said to Victor Yeah, or myabe just be more careful with flipflops... She laughed and waited until she was dryed down. She stood up and said Thank you Alex, dont know what Id do with out you! She grasped her letter and looked at the front, Miss. Kiera Portman...She didnt remember the last time she saw her name on the front of a letter.
She looked over at Viv and said Me too! She finished reading and said Well theres a number here, saying to call... Holding out a piece of paper that said Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts, and under it was the number...
Victor tore open his letter, reading through it quickly "I'm a wizard then?" he asked no one in particular. He would be a fourth year, with Viv apparently... He could assume Kiera as well then. He read through the equipment needs and everything would be paid for... They would have a suitable place to live, that would be a big change!
He seemed to latch onto the same thought as Viv, "I know we've got our powers and everything, but is that really magic?" he asked the group, Kiera could turn into a mermaid which was meant to be a magical creature so maybe... "This seems to good to be true!" he said.
