Default That Summer - V.3

Once again this is a continued role-play created by hazydazy012, kept ever so strong and alive by it's loyal RPers. As the title says, this is version (3) three, the first two threads have reached their post limits. From the original thread:

One year at Hogwarts a mysterious spell was cast that not even the professors can undo. You wouldn't be able to see a difference at Hogwarts, just looking at the school, but it actually made magic impossible! Not a single person or creature could cast a spell while in the school. How are the students supposed to learn when they can't try out the new spells? Sure, most were devestated, (Especially the 7th years! How are they supposed to finish their last year?!) but of course, some were estatic too! Who doesn't want to have a longer summer vacation? So, most students go home in high spirits TWO months before Hogwarts was officially supposed to be let out for summer break. Only one week into their luxuriously long holiday, every student recieves this letter:

"It is mandatory for any students who want to complete their year to attend "La Bacchetta Magica", a summer learning camp for wizards located in a small getaway near Tuscany. You will be finishing up the studies that were unfinished at Hogwarts. Please bring your wand and other necessary items for regular classes."

Fantastic. Some are angry, but most are excited! I mean, it's called "The Magic Wand" in Italian, for goodness sakes. It's gotta be fun. And guess what?! It is! Everyone is having a great time with the mix of school and just plain summer camp fun! How will the Divinations in the morning and campfires at night affect the students? You decide!

Please join! There will need to be a few professors/camp counselors! Even number of boys and girls, please. Post a bio with a picture, thanks!

(P.S. I looked up "La Bacchetta Magica" and it told me "The Magic Wand" but it was only an online translator. If I'm wrong, then whoops! Heehee)

Vianna gave a bit of a grimace as Ferris mentioned that Julia deserved a grudge for kissing him right in front of her; this was obviously not the most pleasant of memories for the girl and she had been hoping to keep the subject buried in obscurity for the rest of her life. As he then asked if she wasn't angry with Julia, Vianna gave a small shrug the boy couldn't really see. "Well, I'm not necessarily looking to make best of friends with her," she replied with a soft chuckle, "But... I can kind of understand why she did it... I don't approve of it, and I still think it was wrong, but I understand it... And besides, I'm not the one who's been friends with her since I was a child." She raised her eyebrows slightly, though Ferris couldn't see this. "I don't think it's worth it to lose an old friend for-- well-- over-- I mean-- y'know... people come and go... it just doesn't seem right..." And now she just began blabbing, not really able to get her point across, as to say the words bluntly and straightforward seemed to intimidate her. "Anyway, are we going to visit your house now?" she asked after failing miserably at making any sense a moment ago.

Ferris listened as Vianna explained that she had no desire to become best friends with Julia, but she could vaguely understand why she did it. His eyebrows rose, as he himself could hardly comprehend what would make Julia kiss him like that, but continued to listen as Vianna tried to get her point across but failing as she started stuttering out random phrases he couldn't quite make sense of. Ferris decided to let it go as she asked if they were going to go to his house and he nodded, "Yeah, let's go," he said, releasing her waist and instead taking her hand as they started back down the road towards the outskirts of town where his home was.

Vianna smiled faintly as Ferris began leading the way down the road and over to his house. She was quiet for most part of the walk, her mind still going over their last conversation. Though she decided to push that subject aside and preoccupy herself thinking about more important things - like avoiding the old lady coming in her direction. Vianna almost crashed into the boy beside her as she moved aside rather abruptly after just realizing the old woman had been heading in her direction. Walking without being seen was more difficult than she had imagined.

Ferris was nervous about seeing his house once more; one side of him desperately wanted to see it again, go inside and feel at home once more, but another side was worried about what he would see there, if everything was still alright and where it should've been. He was abruptly shaken from his thoughts a moment later as Vianna collided with him as she avoided running into a bystander, forcing him to miss a step but caught himself with a soft chuckle. "You alright there?" he asked her softly as they started walking once more, getting farther and farther out of town. Finally, they started down the dirt road towards his home.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine. Sorry," Vianna replied with a sheepish chuckle, feeling rather silly for her clumsiness. She watched as the scenery around them changed, turning from small crowded streets in the small town to the countryside; a countryside that felt familiar to her, even if she had only been a part of it for a few days. She grew quiet once again, beginning to feel rather anxious for what was to come, hoping dearly whatever greeted them next wasn't going to be horribly bad.

"That's alright," he said with a chuckle of his own, though he focused on the road in front of him, his fingers still intwined with hers. Ferris remained silent for the rest of the walk, only looking up when they neared the house and he stopped in his tracks, his brown eyes falling on a sight he wasn't prepared to see. First of all, the yellow house was no longer filled with the life his mother usually occupied it with, but was rather a hollow shell of what once was. The door wasn't fully open with the lights on, welcoming them inside as it usually was but rather just ajar leaving the appearance of the home to be very empty and eerie. But worse than anything, it appeared to be trashed. A window was broken in, one of the bars of the porch rail was popped out and hanging there, and muddy tracks were all over the front porch. Ferris remained silent, his brown eyes going over all of this as his heart sank into the pit of his stomach as he started fearing entering his home.

Vianna had once again, as she usually did, grown distracted in her own cloud of thoughts until it suddenly snapped and she was brought back to reality as Ferris came to a halt. She turned to the view ahead of them and her eyes widened at the sight that welcomed her; a sight that sent a chill down her spine. The kidnappers had been here. They get closer with each passing second... The young girl's expression was rather disturbed for a moment before she turned to Ferris as she normally did, except this time she wasn't able to see the boy. This bothered her; she needed to see his expression, read his body language, figure out what was going on in his mind so she could find something proper to say. But she couldn't tell any of this unless the boy flat-out said what was on his mind. And so, at a a loss for words, Vianna tightened the grip of her small hand around his, knowing that whatever the boy beside her must have been thinking or feeling was definitely not even close to happiness and joy.

Ferris was vaguely aware of Vianna's hand tightening around his own, but he only had one thing on his mind and that was the house that was right in front of him at the moment. He was reluctant, but knew that he had to see the rest of it. And so a moment later he was starting up the porch steps, his hand still in Vianna's as he carefully and slowly opened the front door more just to see his living room with the furniture turned over, his mother's paintings on the wall either crooked on their hooks or broken on the floor. He turned his eyes to the fireplace, the soot from it all over the floor, mixing with the mud that the intruders had obviously trailed in. The various books on their bookshelves were sprawled across the floor and as he saw this he dropped her hand. A moment later there was loud stomping as he made his way up the stairs, a door pulling open and then slamming a minute later. Then the sound of another door opening and slamming shut. Then more stomping as Ferris ran back down the stairs angrily, making his way over to the kitchen. He only had to glance at it to know that it was just the same as the rest of the house; trashed. And then there was more footsteps as he came back to the living room, kicking over the side table on the floor with an angry yell, "DAMN IT!" the boy exclaimed, his voice filled with anger and anguish.

Vianna was caught off-guard when they started moving again, heading in the direction of the house. Her eyes widened slightly at this; judging by how the house looked outside, it was obvious that what they would find inside would not be pleasant. But she didn't have time to rationalize and suggest they stay out when they were already making their way into the house. The sight that greeted them made Vianna's forehead crease slightly, a hint of panic beginning to grow in her eyes as they roamed over the area. But then, suddenly, Ferris's hand had left hers. The young girl turned, as if expecting to see him, but of course she didn't. "Professor?" But there was no response; instead, there were footsteps echoing in the house, doors slamming, and stomping as the invisible boy made his way upstairs and downstairs. She was just about to move, try to look for him somehow, when one of the sidetables near her suddenly fell to the floor and Ferris's voice came along with it, causing the girl to jump in surprise. Vianna didn't need to see the boy's face to read the mix of anger and aguish in his voice, which made her heart drop. She searched blindly until she found him, taking his hand into her own rather shakily. "Come," she asked of him, leading the boy over to the nearest couch and sitting down.

Ferris nearly jumped as he felt Vianna's hand on his own, as though remembering she was still in the room. He listened as she told him to come with her, numbly following the girl over to one of the couches that was still standing properly. He took a seat, his brown eyes angry and saddened as he let his hand rest dully in her own. He remained silent for a few moments, "They've ruined it. They've killed my house," he murmured, his voice cracking accidently as he let out the words.

Vianna's eyes went over their surroundings as the couple remained quiet for a few moments before Ferris broke the silence, making a statement that made the girl beside him cringe slightly. She couldn't pretend optimism this time; she couldn't say it would be alright and his house would be back to normal in no time; it wasn't true. "They've... made quite a mess," she muttered a bit hesitantly before continuing, "I'm just... glad that none of us - especially your mum - was here when it happened." It was true, this was most definitely not a welcoming sight, and she knew that this type of personal invasion was a deep wound on the boy beside her; but she couldn't help feeling extremely lucky that they had left the house those few days ago; who knows when this had happened? The day right after they left? Or perhaps even the very night after they left? Either way, they were lucky the victim this time had been an architectural structure and not a living person. She turned quiet for a few moments before wrapping his hand in both of her smaller ones and letting them rest on her lap, looking down as if she could see them though really all she saw was the couch beneath them.

"Yeah, thank God for that," the boy murmured sadly as Vianna pointed out that they were lucky no one, especially his mother, was here when this happened. Ferris felt her take his hand in both of hers, feeling her tug his arm over so she could rest their clasped hands in her lap. He remained sitting up straight, tense and worried as he looked around his house. But he couldn't hold this in much longer and a couple minutes later he had let his stature fall, letting his head come to rest on her shoulder as he sank back into the couch.

Vianna smiled faintly as Ferris's head came to meet her shoulder. She leaned over a bit and placed a kiss on his cheek before letting her own head rest against his curly hair. She was quiet for a few moments, playing with the fingers of his hand absentmindedly, the way he often did with her own hand. She remained like this for a number of minutes, feeling no need to say anything; she knew words couldn't console the boy beside her in a situation like this. But all thoughts and distractions came to an abrupt halt suddenly as a sound caught the girl's attention. It was a creaking noise, like the sound the old doors at the inn made when opened. Vianna's breath came to a halt and her head lifted from Ferris's, her eyes widening as they looked straight ahead though at nothing specific. "Did you hear that?" she asked the boy beside her in a quiet voice.

Ferris was staring at the floor, feeling numb and horribly sad with this situation. But it was then that he heard the creak of the door and he looked up just as Vianna seemed to do. "Yes," he whispered in reply as she asked if he had heard the noise. He looked around as though expecting to see the cause of the noise, but upon seeing nothing very quietly wrapped his arm around Vianna, pulling her into him as he attempted to pull both of them back into a corner of the couch. Moving at the moment was not an option, because if someone (if someone was there) heard them moving, they'd be exposed. And since they were invisible, he assumed that the best move at the moment was to make themselves as small as possible and remain quiet where they were.

One of the kidnappers then came to view and pulled an Avada Kedavra on the kids.
And they died, the end.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding!

IC:
Vianna felt her heart quicken its pace as Ferris pulled her back into a corner of the couch. It seemed that with each passing second, her heart came closer and closer to her throat as the girl's panic and fear only seemed to escalate. She wanted to speak, ask what was going on, but she knew that would completely defeat the purpose of being invisible at the moment and expose them to whatever was wandering the house. But she gave an involuntary jump as there came another sound that seemed to originate from the kitchen; it sounded as if someone had just dropped a wooden plank onto the floor, making an echo in the rather empty house. Vianna's eyes were wide with horror now and she sunk as far back into the couch as she could.

Ferris's eyes widened as a louder, more distinct crash came from the kitchen and he felt the girl wrapped up in his arms jump slightly. He pulled her a little closer as though the stranger within the house might snatch her away if he wasn't careful, his brown eyes turning to her though they met air. That wasn't comforting. He couldn't see her, share a glance, get any hint of what she was thinking. What should they do!? Should they run while they had the chance or...? He pulled Vianna onto his lap, pulling his legs up on the couch silently as his brown eyes turned to the doorway of the kitchen into the living room.

OOC: DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THAT WAS MEAN!

Vianna let out an involuntary whimper as her eyes remained glued to the kitchen's doorway, waiting for a cloaked stranger to come out any second and attack them. Suddenly, even if they were completely invisible, she didn't feel as safe as she thought she would. And then the intruder walked out from the doorway, completely oblivious of the couple he had scared senseless with his noisy entrance. Vianna was quiet for a moment as her horrified eyes fell upon a gray kitten before letting out a sigh of relief, her heart rate beginning to slow down. "A kitten!" she exclaimed, a mix of disbelief, amusement, disappointment, and anger in her voice. "A kitten had us curled up to the couch almost begging for our lives!" She went on, not aware of how the tables had suddenly turned and it was now the kitten who looked absolutely horrified as two voices seemed to fill the air out of nowhere.

ooc: I thought it would make for one of those epic endings!

OOC: *glare*

Ferris gently stroked her hair with a shaky hand as she let out a whimper, silently trying to let her know that he was there. But it was then that something emerged from the kitchen and rather than a cloaked figure to bring them their death, there was an adorable gray kitten. The boy couldn't help but let out a trail of relieved chuckles, shaking his head as Vianna went on about how the kitten had had them begging for their lives on the couch. "I'll be right back," he told her, placing a grateful kiss on her cheek, suddenly really appreciating her light presence next to him. But he wanted to make sure there really wasn't anyone there, and so he stood up from the couch, heading over to the kitchen just to find no one there. "Alright, we're safe," he said with a soft chuckle. He then took out his wand, turning himself visible again suddenly. He flashed a smile in her direction before bending over and picking up the small kitten. "Hey little buddy," he murmured softly, holding him to his chest as he stood in the doorway of the kitchen.

ooc: xD! Aw shucks, I sowy.

Vianna, still a bit paranoid after the fright she had just been put through, gave a bit of a jump as Ferris's lips unexpectedly met her cheek. Her eyes then returned to the frightened kitten that stood by the doorway as Ferris said he'd be right back. But she was soon distracted from the small animal as someone else came to view - Ferris. Vianna beamed at the sight of him, feeling much more enthusiastic about seeing him than she normally would, but this being invisible business really made the girl feel like she barely got to really see him anymore. She watched with a smile as he took the small gray kitten who merely gave a weak 'meow' as he took it into his hands and chuckled softly, both endeared and amused by the sight.

OOC: *grumble* It's okay....

Ferris could only be amused by the kitten for a few moments as his relief washed away and he was reminded of where he was. He held the cat to his chest as his brown eyes roamed around his location and his smile faded. After a long few moments of silence, he finally remembered that Vianna was probably watching him and he turned his eyes back to the seemingly empty couch with a weak, fake smile. "Can we please leave now?" he asked softly, "Go somewhere where we can both be visible?" he asked, referring to just leaving the house and maybe going somewhere on the outskirts of town where no one lived.

Vianna was watching Ferris in a way she usually reserved for her beloved spoiled squirrel, but her warm smile faded as did Ferris's. She listened as the boy asked her if they could leave the house and go somewhere where they could be visible, and her forehead creased slightly as she found herself unable to agree to that. "It's too risky, Professor... The kidnappers are here, it's not safe to be visible anywhere near here. I'm sorry..." She gave him an apologetic look he could obviously not see, turning quiet for a few moments before an idea came to mind. "Unless..." She looked up at Ferris again, "Do you think they'd know of that secret place you showed me back then?" she asked, referring to the almost fairy-tale-like place Ferris had introduced her to when they were staying in his hometown days ago.

Ferris gave a frown as she told him it was too risky, realizing what he was asking of the girl and he quickly shook his head. "No, you're right, I'm sorry," he said with a sigh, his brown eyes saddened. But as she mentioned their secret place, he thought for a moment, "That sounds...amazing," he admitted with a small smile but it faded a moment later. "But you're right...It's risky. And I'm not looking to be a part of another situation like this. The odds are that the next one won't be a kitten," he gave a weak chuckle. "Let's just...Go back," he said with a small, weak smile.

Vianna sighed, though she gave a faint smile and an understanding nod (none of which Ferris could see, she kept forgetting) as Ferris let her know that even the secret place from before was too risky. "Alright," she agreed as he suggested they just head back to the inn. The young girl got up from the couch and took one last look around the house before turning to Ferris again, waiting to be given her broom. "Is Mr. Kitten coming with us too?" she asked with a warm smile, taking a step closer so she could pet the gentle gray kitten.

Ferris could only hear Vianna's small response and was unable to see her as she got up and started over towards him. He nearly jumped as he heard her voice so close to him, asking if they were taking 'Mr. Kitten'. "Oh..." he turned to look at the kitten he was holding in his hands. "She is pretty cute, isn't she?" he murmured, staring into the kitten's green eyes with admiration in them. "But...How could we ever keep her?" he said, trying his best to shake out of the trance. He could be a bit of a sucker for animals at times.

Vianna frowned slightly. "It's a girl?" she asked with a blink. But then Ferris was asking how they could keep the kitten and she was quiet for a moment, not really sure herself. "I'm sure you could take care of her just how I've been taking care of Fluffy," she said softly. Though honestly the girl's mind wasn't really on this right now; seeing Ferris completely solid and visible before her was making her rather uneasy; what if the kidnappers chose this moment to come in? "If you want we can share a broom and I'll drive while you hold the kitten," she added. "Let's go before anyone comes, Professor."
