The term has ended and now you’re stuck with two months of summer stretching before you. Freedom from essays, from potions, from star gazing. Now you can stay up late and go to bed early. You’re away from all the Professors who are crazy in love with each other and now it’s all about what YOU want to do. Or rather… what your parents let you do. School’s out for summer!

This takes place after Term 10 in the SS School RP. The term has ended so this is a way to play out the summer longer than available in Diagon Alley, and as a way for the graduated students to have a place to play. This is invite only, so if you haven’t been asked to come in, chances are you can’t join. If you have an idea for any characters that should be invited back, let me know and I’ll consider them. I can’t think of everyone, after all.

Naturally, the Rules follow SS Rules and you still have to use literacy (a major pet peeve of mine, really) We follow the School Plot, but I’m sure the most of you will be able to handle that. Anyone invited who plays a shop keeper or a helper will play them in here (as long as you wish of course) and if anyone would like to fill an empty spot, please do let me know.

Diagon alley was crowded. It was practically overspilling with people. Grimwald cleared a space through them effortlessly. It might have been the scar on his cheek. Or the glint in his eyes. Or his big hands that looked quite capable of crushing a skull. Then again, it could've been because of his charm.

Right.

Peony got into the Leaky Cauldron. Eventually. She looked around ineffectually for anyone she recognized, then got the bright idea of letting Boreas loose. The owl hooted madly, flying here and there and nearly slamming into a few lamps.

Andi Mao-Macdougal had no such Grimwald - Waldo Grim - to escort her. She valiantly shoved her elbow into a gut, and stepped on someone's foot. Luckily she wasn't wearing her highheels, or the stilleto might have gone right through the foot. Unfortunately, she was shoved right back by some barbarian and pushed against a glass wall that turned out to be the door of the store.

The tinkling of a bell sounded as she fell in.

"Dammmmit," she muttered.

After nearly two hours Katrina descended the stairs from her room to meet with Kay who was waiting for her, ready to leave. Katrina stopped by the mirror and fixed her one last time. "Okay, I'm ready." She didn't see her sister around. Her Aunt told her she had left to Diagon Alley and would be waiting for her. Katrina walked to the fireplace and gathered a handful of Floo Powder, her lips and her hands were trembling when she attempted to say "Diagon Alley" she instead of that she said something esle. When the flames surrounded her and vanished Katrina found herself in a dark, musty and with odd objects. Katrina walked forward and an old man with scabs on his face suddenly appeared in front of her. She let out a shriek and ran around the store knocking things down as she old man ran after her with his cane trying to stop her. Katrina finally found the exit, pushed the door open and left. She paused far away from the store to breathe. When she looked up she saw a sign that said "Knockturn Alley". She gasped and looked around, there was a witch with a hood on but her nose was so long she could see it, and it had a hairy mole on the top of it. Katrina was terrified. She saw a bunch of cats chasing after the biggest rat she'd ever seen in her life. She walked around for a little but she couldn't find Kay anywhere.

Kay placed her blue ribbon inside the old book to mark her spot and closed it with a soft thud. After two hours, there was no sign of Katrina emerging from the Leaky Cauldron. With my luck, that girl probably exited at the wrong grate, she thought as she slid her book into her purse. I'd better go check inside the Leaky Cauldron first because she might be waiting for me at a table.

She weaved her way around the foot traffic on the street and arrived at the door of the Leaky Cauldron. With one hand, she gently pushed open the door and walked inside. Kay had to blink a few times as her eyes adjusted to the lighting inside the pub. "Kat, Kat . . . where is Kat?" she mumbled to herself as she looked about the premises. She recognized many faces but not the one she was looking for.

As she turned to head back to the door, her heart skipped a beat. It was Elijah! Kay took two steps towards the bar and then she froze. A sickening feeling overcame her as she saw who he was with - Ashlie. Her jaw tightened and a cold glint came to her eyes as she watched the two of them for what seemed to be an eternity (in reality, it was less than 30 seconds). She abruptly stormed out of the Leaky Cauldron, slamming the door behind her as she left.

Her feet seemed to have a mind of their own, and soon Kay found herself entering Knocturn Alley. A monsterous rat ran past her feet and she jumped back against a moldy wall as a bunch of mangy cats came charging after it. She shook it off and continued walking down the dark alley.

There were an assortment of witches and wizards conducting business in the shadows. A toothless witch with an eyepatch and grimy fingernails was selling bottles of doxy venom, while a well-dressed wizard was handing a few gold coins to what looked like a vampire for a bottle of blood. Kay walked past them completely unnerved, as if she encountered these kinds of people on a daily basis. Then she saw who she was looking for.

"Katrina!" said Kay as she rushed up to her sister who looked positively frightened.

Katrina let out a shriek when she heard her name but when she turned around and she saw her sister she was very glad and she ran to her sister and hugged her. "This old man is following me!" She told her sister and ran behind her, grabbing her arm tightly. "Why didn't you wait for me?" she whispered.

"Sorry about that Kat. I just wanted to get away," apologized Kay as she embraced her sister. She took Katrina's hand and started pulling her. "Let's get out of here before one of the teachers spots us." In truth, Kay was hiding the fact from her sister that she was upset and exploring the dark shops of Knockturn Alley would have gotten her mind off of what she had seen in the Leaky Cauldron.

Several minutes later, the sisters were stepping into the sunshine that shone down on Diagon Alley. "Let's go get our books, Kat. You know how I hate having to purchase used school books," Kay suggested as they passed the Leaky Cauldron.

Ando got to her feet, pulling together some semblance of dignity. The smell of oil and leather filled her nose, and she bumped heads with broom-bristles. For once she stood tall and straight, this being the only way she could look more in-control, like a cat fluffing up fur.

"My - my apologies," she said with a half-second stutter. "If I broke anything -" she glanced at the dented bell. "- I'll pay for it."

Katrina, glad she had left that horrible place, let go of her sister and agreed to go buy their school books. Katrina didn't like old books as well but she wouldn't complain if she ever had to buy them, they still contained the same information regardless of how they looked. Diagon Alley was crowed, she hated it. She walked into people, and some of them would give her scary looks and others would even curse at her. She followed her sister closely, until they reached the book shop.

Maddi peered through the huge, heavy wood door that hung from the hinges of The Leaky Cauldron. A smile spread across her face as she heard her name cried out. It was, no doubt, Jamie Reiss her adorable best friend.

"JAMIEEEEEE" She cried pushing the door open more so she could slide through and skipping toward the counter he and Jenno were behind. "JENNOOOO" She added realizing he was not alone. "THISISGOINGTOBEGREEEAT!" Her excitment showed once more.

Taking a seat she looked at the other two. "Ohhh French Toast".

The main street in Diagon Alley was becoming more crowded as the morning hours progressed. Holding her sister's hand tightly, Kay maneuvered both of them through the crowd to their first destination - Flourish & Blotts. With her free hand, she opened the door and ushered her sister inside.

"Do you have your list with you?" Kay asked her sister impatiently as she spied the marked stacks of books for each year.

Tyler chewed his lip thoughtfully for a moment. His mother was the hardest person to find a present for.

"I was thinking something along the lines of a scrapbook. Or possibly a stationary set," he suggested. He honestly had no idea what his mother would like and was hoping Mrs. Blotts might have some suggestions also.

"Hiya Maddi!" Jamie said happily, bouncing on the heels of his feet now. "Yeah, french toast! I'm gonna see if Cook wants to make some more!"

He turned and headed a few steps to the door leading to the kitchen. "Hiya Cook!" he grinned. "I've got some friends in an' I was wondering if you'd make two more plates of the good french toast? They want to try it cuz I told them how good you are."

Cook smiled at the boy and nodded, adding a ruffle to his curls. Jamie gave him a thumbs up before skipping back to his friends.

"Why hello," Ashlie said through gritted teeth, turning to the boy who was tapping on her. "Generally we wait at the counter, you know," she said, tyring to mask her her irritation. How rude! Coming up and tapping on her shoulder. "It'd do you some justice to use a few manners," she added under her breath, pulling out a paper.

She slid it before him, forcing her fake smile. "Here, fill that out, please," she said in her phony voice. The form requested his full name, age, any pets, and the number of rooms he'd be in need of.

Then, she turned back to Elijah, before casting a look at the rude boy.

Aero finally pulled herself from bed, stretching slowly. Ahhh... she still had a couple hours before she even had to go into work. She smiled as she stood to dress, thankful to be out of the skirt uniform and pulled out a pair of jeans and a tank top.

She fluffed her hair a bit before pulling it up into its usual knot, the few tresses too short to reach falling around her face and into her eyes. She grabbed her bag and made her way out of the room, stumbling over her pyjamas.

As she strode out of the Leaky Cauldron, she caught Ashlie's scowl and she waved back with a smile. Have fun with the morning crew! Once out of the pub, she walked down the street to Flourish and Blotts. It seemed she was in a need of some more books. She walked in, bouncing a bit, before heading for the new Wizarding Novels shelves.

"My son bought me a stationary set once." Mrs. Blotts said, hiding a laugh, "Why don't we look at some other things you might get her? I just received a limited edition of some musical books." She said, pulling out a box from under the counter. "They sing original songs depending on the reader's moods."

She opened the book to demonstrate and giggled when it sang a very upbeat song about sunshine and happiness.

Half of him wanted to tap on her shoulder again, he was exhausted but she looked like she could bite his head off if he wanted to. Not that he was afraid of a girl, but he just didn't feel like getting into another fight so early in the day.

So he waited by the counter with the filled in form for the girl to finish with the other customer.

It seemed that it was hard to get some service around here. Fatima glanced around with her hazel eyes and rubbed her cheek, a helpless attempt at trying to get rid of the freckles invading her pale skin. She had left her hat upstairs in her room where she was staying and was starting to regret it immediately. Her light brown hair that she always kept in an uneven bob was looking even more uneven. At least, this time around, there was no bubblegum pink halo to attract unecessary attention.

Fatima was busy staring at the table and wondering what she should do to get the bartendress' attention when someone called out her name. She smiled at the familiar voice and looked up, her light eyes shining.

"Elena!" She called out and waved for the girl to take a seat. "It's been so long. How are you?"

Bucky ran down Diagon Alley, as she carried Rosemary in her arms. Quite a task for the skinny but tall girl. Rosemary was a large tortoise and restless at that. Always trying to get away. Celestina was late. As usual. She proceeded to enter The Leaky Cauldron. She came to a halt as she realized she couldn't spot the one friend she was supposed to meet her.

"Oh, bejabbers," she muttered, wondering where Jamie had gotten to.

Amaris finally woke up. It was a reasonable time to be awake and concious now. She brushed her teeth and hair and put on a pair of light blue jeans and long sleeved sweater. It was maroon. Or, at least that's what it looked like. It was a good day to read, she thought but there was a problem. Ama did not posess a book that she hadn't read but that could be easily solved. Quickly grabbing some floo powder, she entered the fireplace in her room and cleared her throat. She wasn't in the mood to being stranded in Moscow today.

"Diagon Alley!" She shouted and let the powder drop.

Green flames enveloped her and she kept her eyes shut and elbows tight as she waited for her exit. It ocurred to her that perhaps she had to actually watch for her exit so she opened her eyes and finally reached her destination with a loud crash and a massive cloud of dust. Coughing, she stood up and adjusted her tall purple hat, not caring how her long wavy dark brown hair looked or how filthy her clothes now were.

With a smile she entered Flourish and Blotts after only a short way of walking and admired a large tower of books right on the entrance of the store.

Aero flushed a light pink and smiled at Mrs. Blott's. She hadn't bought a romance novel in almost three, four years now. She hardly even read them now anymore. "Oh, that's quite alright, Mrs. Blott's," she said with a wave. "I think I'm browsing right now, I'll make sure to have a look though." She walked over to the woman though, quickenig her pace subtly at the sight of Tyler.

Jamie was now certain that he had some kind of sensor. As the door opened, he looked out to see Bucky walking into the Leaky Cauldron with Rosemary. Waving his hand above his head, he jumped so much that he nearly knocked over a chair and Ashlie turned to give him a dirty look. "BUCKY!" he cried. "BUCKY OVER HERE!"

He seemed quite oblivious to the many people gaping at him.

Turning away from Jamie, Ashlie shook her head, and found the boy had filled out the form. "Have you got parental consent?" she questioned, quirking an eyebrow. He was yet too young to be staying here in the Leaky Cauldron on his own.

Bucky smiled embarassed at the spectacle that Jamie was causing but decided that the sooner she go to where he was the sooner he would calm down. Celestina adjusted Rosemary in her arms once more and quickly strutted to where Jamie was. She nodded at the girls present.

"Sup?" She questioned, for once, not paying much attention to her homie Jen but staring intently at Maddi.

"I'll call you Jen, then." Francesca said enthusiastically as the toast was being prepared. She tilted her head when she saw a foreign looking boy over at the place to check in. Francesca wasn't really the biggest fan of foreigners when she was at home in the states, but she was technically foreign here. She put on a smirk and waved to the boy as two more girls came over to join their party. She smiled curtly to the two newcomers.

"Hello there. I'm Francesca."

OOC: Nothing to really DO with Astoria right now so I'm leaving her out of this post.

Maddi giggled at Jamie's reaction. She spun around on her stool to see if it really was Bucky or if Jamie just scared one of the customers. Sure enough there in front of her, Bucky stood with the large tortoise in her arms. Now the circle was complete and Maddi was having an even worse time trying to keep her excitment low key.

When Bucky spoke Maddi turned to Jen, assuming that's who the girl was talking to, but when Jen didn't reply Maddi turned back at Bucky. Her eyes widened at the thought that Bucky was in fact asking her. Her face softened and she replied "Marvy! and yourself?"

"Good to know," she added flatly and decided not to reply to Maddi, this time her attention drawn to Franchesca.

Just where had she come from? Jamie had an uncanny ability to make new friends by the hour. This irritated Celestina to the point of wanting to throw sharp objects about.

"Right," she said to the girl who had introduced herself and nodded.

She didn't feel like being polite. Bucky rarely did. Perhaps, that was why Jamie definitely had more friends than she did.

"I'm hungry. Where's breakfast?"

Jen smiled at Francesca. It was always good to meet new friends. There was really nothing else to say at the moment, so she absently watched the cook prepare toast for everyone.

She was so absorbed in watching the toast that she almost didn't realize it when Bucky arrived. At least I wasn't late today she thought with a slight smile. It took her a moment to comprehend Bucky's question and by the time she had processed it Maddi had already answered. At least the two girls weren't trying to kill each other. Murder was no way to start out a day.

Elena hurried over to Fatima's table. It was such a relief to see one of her own friends over the age of 14. Children weren't her forte. As she made her way over she toyed with the idea of falling purposefully just to see what the barmaid's reaction would be.

"How've you been?" she asked the girl plopping down into a seat across from her.

Tyler tuned out Mrs. Blotts as he watched Aero make her way over to them. He couldn't help but be mesmerized. It was the first time in months he had seen her in anything but a skirt.

With a slight shake of his head, he told Mrs. Blotts, "Sounds good to me." He tore his eyes away from Aero and it took all of his willpower not to look away from the old woman.

Jamie noticed that Bucky was acting different. Really different and, to be honest, he didn't like it. "Cook is making breakfast," he said. "He's making French Toast. Special french toast. An' I can make sure he makes you extra special ones and doesn't use milk in it." He beamed at his friend, trying to figure out why she wasn't so happy to see him.

Aero caught Tyler's eye for a moment, before he tore away. She cast him a smile, walking over to the two and ending beside the boy. "What are we looking for?" she asked, tucking back a loose curl and smiling at Mrs. Blotts.

She smiled again as her friend took a seat next to her. The young woman nodded and tried patting down the rebel strand of light brown hair standing up.

"I've been swell," she replied with a sheepish smile. "You know? Lots of studying, lots of work. How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while."

Fatima nearly asked about Taylon but bit her lower lip and decided to inspect her prairie skirt. If anyone were to know about Taylon it would be Elena but perhaps he wasn't the best subject right now.

"French toast sounds good," she said and attempting to smile for Jamie's sake.

Bucky thought it was only going to be him, her and Jen. That was all and all of a sudden there are a dozen girls surrounding him. How was she supposed to react? She never got along well with girls, Jen, her homie, being an exception.

Jamie smiled when he saw Bucky smile. It made him feel like she wasn't being so hostile. "Wanna meet Chef?" he asked, grabbing her hand. "I bet he'd like you. He makes me extra special French Toast cuz he likes me." He tugged on her gently, trying to coax her over. Maybe they had to The Talk now.

Tyler grinned slightly. Mrs. Blotts certainly was an amusing woman.

"We're just looking for a birthday present for my mother," he answered leaning closer to Aero. "The singing stationary set has my vote. What do you think?"

His eyes were drawn to a stray curl that had escaped her bun. Without thinking he reached out and tucked it behind her ear.

Elena stared at Fatima. There was something going on but Elena had no idea what. She only hoped it had nothing to do with a man. Sure, the girls were friends but when it came to men they had entirely different views.

She raised an eyebrow and replied, "I've been alive. Spending time with my family is not my idea of a vacation. Children are so overrated."

To punctuate her views Elena gestured to the corner where Jen and her cronies were hanging.

Fatima laughed softly. Elena was always so blunt, so honest, so...her. There were few people she had met that could actually say they had a unique personality. Fatima was none of those things, unfortunately. She was quiet, cowardly, and often lied to be on people's good side. All things she wasn't at all proud of.

"They're not tha bad," she said playing with a random napkin left on the table. "But, I guess I can say that because I'm an only child."
