The term has ended and now you’re stuck with two months of summer stretching before you. Freedom from essays, from potions, from star gazing. Now you can stay up late and go to bed early. You’re away from all the Professors who are crazy in love with each other and now it’s all about what YOU want to do. Or rather… what your parents let you do. School’s out for summer!

This takes place after Term 10 in the SS School RP. The term has ended so this is a way to play out the summer longer than available in Diagon Alley, and as a way for the graduated students to have a place to play. This is invite only, so if you haven’t been asked to come in, chances are you can’t join. If you have an idea for any characters that should be invited back, let me know and I’ll consider them. I can’t think of everyone, after all.

Naturally, the Rules follow SS Rules and you still have to use literacy (a major pet peeve of mine, really) We follow the School Plot, but I’m sure the most of you will be able to handle that. Anyone invited who plays a shop keeper or a helper will play them in here (as long as you wish of course) and if anyone would like to fill an empty spot, please do let me know.

Kay had been resting somewhat peacefully on the couch for several hours when four swift knocks on the door roused her from her sleep. Slowly, she opened her blue-green eyes and blinked a few times in the light that came from the windows. She sat up and stretched the best that she could before standing up. Now, who would be calling at this time of day? I don't even look presentable. It was true: she had taken to dressing in shorts and simple tank tops, and wearing her hair down (it covered the worst of the scars on her right shoulder). The only adornment she wore was a golden snitch necklace around her neck - a necklace she had never taken off since the night Elijah put it on her.

The floorboards were cool on Kay's bare feet and the boards creaked as she appreached the door walking with a slight limp. WIth her left hand, she turned the knob and opened the door. Before her stood the one person who filled her thoughts night and day. "Elijah?" she asked softly, her voice cracked in disbelief. It had to be a dream.

There she was. The one person who could make Elijah feel joy and longing at the same time. The one person who could make any horrible day he was having 100 times better. The one person... he wanted to be with all the time.

He smiled at her as he cuped her face in his hands and stared into her eyes. His thumbs gently caressed the never-failing soft skin of her cheeks. "I got your letter," he said simply, but couldn't wait a minute longer. He closed the distance between them, softly touching his lips to hers.

He pulled away slowly, his smile never fading from his face. "Kay..." he said softly. "Merlin knows how much I've missed you."

It seemed like a dream to her . . . but it was real. Kay knew this the instant Elijah's hands touched her and their lips met.

"Elijah . . . " she said softly and she smiled as a few tears of joy streamed down her cheeks. "I've missed you so much." She reached up and touched his face with her left hand while her right managed to rest lightly on his waist for she could not raise it any higher.

Ashlie glanced back over her shoulder at Jamie and Bucky and smiled. It was nice for him to have a friend over, even if she had no idea where she was going to put Bucky. Two bedrooms. Why did this remind her of the previous summer when she thought it bright to allow Jamie to bring his THREE friends over?

As they arrived at the cabin, she peeked in to see their belongings had already arrived. Admiral Michael sat on the bed, blinking lazily at her, as if to laugh like cats did. Sai was sitting under the wooden desk, thumping his tail against the wood floor.

Wood. Urgh. Ashlie constantly forgot how much she disliked wood floors. Darting in, she found her laptop amongst the bags of luggage and clutched it to her chest like a long lost child. Which is most certainly was. She slipped it into its carrying case, which she promptly slung around her neck.

"Alright you two. Can I trust you to stay around the cabin? I'm off to look around, find where everything is. That okay with you?" she asked the two children (teenagers, really, save Jamie had a month to go).

Then, she took off, not even sure where she was heading off to.

Jamie shrugged at Ashlie and watched her walk away, tilting his head. "Sometimes, I think Ashlie is really weird," he said, turning back to his friend. He grinned at her then turned and squinted into the sun at the lake. "Wonder if she expects us to swim in that," he pondered outloud.

The fluffy orange cat poked his head out of the door left ajar by Ashlie and mrowed at the sight of the two kids. He was hungry, Jamie took it for missing him. He lunged forward and grabbed the fluffy ball of fur and held him to his chest.

"So. What d'you wanna do?"

OoC: You have NO idea how hard it is to play a 12 year old Jamie and then 18 year old James O.O Seriously. Hah.

Elijah gave Kay a reassuring smile as he gently wiped her tears with his thumbs since his hands were still gently cuped around her face. He closed his eyes for a moment as her hand touched his face.

He kissed her again, and pulled away, resting his forehead on hers. "Don't cry," he said simply and quietly. "It's alright, Kay. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere.

Kay looked into his eyes and smiled, for what she saw reaffirmed his words and that he truly cared for her. "I love you," she said softly and slowly brought her lips up to his, kissing him gently.

Elijah wrapped his arms around her, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck; taking in her voice, her touch, her kiss, and everything else he could. He hadn't seen her for what felt like years, and he wasn't about to let her go. He reached behind him with his right hand and closed her cabin door and replaced it on the small of her back, his face still nuzzling her neck. "Kay I love you too," he said in a low voice. "More than anything else in this world, how I love you."

"I love you more than anything else in the world," Kay said in soft, husky voice. "Each day . . . each moment without you has been more painful than enduring the Cruciatus Curse."

She rested her head on his shoulder and her breath softly caressed his neck as she continued to pour out her heart. "I never gave up on our love, even when facing evil. The very thought of you gave me the courage to fight . . . fight until my battle was lost and there was pain . . . a horrible pain but all I wanted was you. You and no other. Only you could make the pain go away and make me whole again."

Kay tried to raise her right arm high enough so that she could put both arms around him, but failed. "And you have. I love you, Elijah Young," she said softly and brought her lips up to his, kissing him gently.

Xavier continued down the trail towards his cabin. He noticed there was a small shed where there were boat rentals and even better dune buggy rentals. He smiled, remembering his summers back on the Oregon dunes as a child.

Suddenly, he bumped into someone.

"Urgggh! People swim in that?" he asked.

Celestina's eyes widened. The thought of carnivorous bugs attempting to consume her flesh made her want to run and go back home to her Dad. Yes, the very same Dad she wanted to get away from in the first. She rather confront skirts and dresses and dare she even think of it, makeup than be digested by multiple-eyed scaly bugs.

"No. I didn't bring bug spray. No one told me," she said in an accusing manner as if this was all part of their evil plan to annihilate her.

Luckily for her, Ashlie cleared matters but not before giving a hair rising account of camping in the wild and being attacked by bears. Okay, maybe she didn't mention bears but Bucky was sure she got attacked by bears at least once while camping.

"What's wrong with the water?" She asked confused, it seemed refreshing to her although she really didn't want to wear the bathing suit her father packed for her. It was terribly embarassing.

Bucky nodded and saluted Ashlie as if to let her know the ship would not sink while Celestina was in control. Meaning, she would keep Jamie in check and out of trouble and away from man-eating bugs.

"Well, she is a bit odd," reflected the thirteen year old girl twirling a strand of auburn hair around her finger as she did so. "But I suppose that has to do with her age."

After all, Ashlie was rather old already. Celestina gave the cat a sympathetic look but made no attempts of rescuing it from Jamie's grasp. She didn't really like cats or many animals for that matter. It was the reason she had given Rosemary away that and because the tortoise refused to give up her man-eating habits.

"I'm hot," she complained wiping the perspiration away from her forehead with the back of her hand. "Is the Air Con even on?"

Ashlie was too busy looking at the sun's glimmering effect on the water, the way it sparkled and seemed to dance and wink and flash at her when something bumped into her and she bounced back. She stumbled a little over the sandy path, falling to the ground.

It was almost like slow motion. She saw it happening, but only vaguely felt it. Luckily enough for her, she only fell on her butt, and the lap top stayed perfectly unharmed. Of course, she still grabbed the case and clutched it to herself, as if feeling for any harm.

Finally, she glanced up to see feet. Instantly, she felt her anger bubble up.

"Who do you think you are, walking into people like that?" she asked, pushing herself off the ground. "You should watch where you're go-" Her voice faltered as her eyes landed on the reason of her collision, a tall dark haired boy. Her eyes grew wide without her even realizing it. "Xavier?"

"The fishes swim in that water," Jamie said, as if it was the most obviously thing in the world while he scratched his cat behind the ears. Admiral Michael dangled from Jamie's arms, the boy hoisting him below his arms so he seemed to be clinging, though his eyes were closed in the pleasure of the scratching. "What if the fish try biting you or something?" He made a face, clearly not wanting to get bit by a fish.

"Don't worry, we have bug spray though. We'll douse you in it and you won't get eaten or anything. Bugs are weird little things. We'll kill em all though, won't we Admiral Michael? We will we will we will!" He beamed happily and Admiral Michael mewed as though he wanted to help.

When really he just wanted to go chase that bird down on the dock.

"I'm really sorry," he said, starting to walk away. "I didn't mean to bump you." He stopped, feeling like an idiot. He turned, offering his hand to help her up.

She had actually considered bathing in it but now, she had second thoughts. The fact that she detested her bathing suit, all baby blue complete with a skirt and hair cap didn't help her build up the courage to go and dive in it anyways.

So she would have to sweat. A lot. And possibly melt. Or dehydrate. Or, suffer from heat stroke. This was going to be the worst vacation ever. They just got worse and worse didn't they? Bucky would have to keep in mind to say no to Jamie for once.

"Douse me in it?" She repeated again, picturing herself being dunked into a cauldron of green and stinky bug repellent. "DOUSE?"

Yup. Definitely the worst vacation ever.

"They aren't any bears here....are they?"

Suddenly, her eyes grew wide, extremely wide at the thought and she let out a yelp

Ashlie bit her lip and took Xavier's hand for a moment to get herself off the ground. After wards, her hands were on her hips and she was shaking her head, curls swinging this way and that.

"You should be sorry," she said. "What a greeting eh? Walk walk walk oh lets bump Ashlie!" She tutted once and adjusted the strap of her lap top case. "Anyway. What brings you here? You're staying here too? Mysterious reservation? Cos I got one of those and I'm pretty wary about this place. You know, this should probably be alarming me, running into people and a lot of the Diagon Alley staff being here. Sounds fishy. And I do mean smell, that's just the lake."

Suddenly, it dawned on the young woman that she was rambling, a habit she got into when running into the students she'd gone to school with. A really bad habit. She even babbled with Peony and they saw each other often. So, she fell silent and scratched absently at her hair, glancing out to the water which was still sparkling. She'd have to take the kids out there. They'd enjoy it.

"Merlin it's hot."

Their was a shrug from Jamie. "That's what Mummy told me. She never took us to the lake because she said they were disgusting and dirty and the fish would bite us." He finally let Admiral Michael free and the cat stalked back into the cabin.

"Fine, not necessarily douse, you know," he said with a grin. "We'll have to spray you with it though. It's that or get eaten. Bears?" He shook his head and laughed. "Noooo there's no bears," he giggled. "C'mon, go inside, there's fans there. Not sure about an air conditioner."

He pondered this momentarily, wishing Ashlie hadn't taken the lap top. He needed to send Mummy an email.

"I got a reservation from 'An Old Friend'. That's what it said in the letter at least," remarked Xavier, chuckling a little at Ashlie's actions. She'd definitely changed a lot. She definitely was older.

He shook his head. What was getting into him? "But yeah, so a mysterious letter on your part as well? That kind of unnerves me. It makes me wonder whether anything here is safe or not."

He looked over at the boats. "I was planning on taking one of the motorboats out later, but I'll probably check with the receptionist first to make sure they're safe."

He closed his eyes. Now he was rambling.

Celestina whimpered knowing that there was no choice after all. The lake had been so deceiving with it's fun and refreshing appearance. Now it seemed to be laughing at her with every movement of the greenish water.

"Stupid fish," she muttered plotting their doom. They would die. Oh yes, they would die from taking her lake from her without asking nicely.

"Eaten? They don't literally feast on my flesh right?"

Okay, so perhaps she was being a little paranoid but it was nature's fault. AND THE FISH! It was all the fish fault! She walked into the cabin searching wildly for the air con. If she didn't find it it was surelt the fish' fault as well.

"Kind of?" Ashlie asked with a derisve snort. "Let's try just a little freaky. We all get letters from 'An Old Friend' and suddenly Diagon Alley closes shops and heads for the hills. Or lake, rather. It's just... very unnverving. The end."

She laughed at their suspicions and shook her head. "Honestly though, I've no idea about it. I'd assume everything here is safe though. It's a Muggle Resort, I highly doubt they'd vacation somewhere that would be them into danger. I myself will probably make myself cozy with my lap top. I wonder if there's any internet around. I really need to email a few people."

Now was where the conversation sunk to its awkwardness. It was easy to talk to people you went to school with, but eventually it faltered out and sputtered. So she stood around awkwardly for a moment, staring at the hem of her pants. They were getting frayed.

"You know how to work a motorboat?" she finally asked to kill the silence.

Jamie gaped at Bucky. "Have you ever been bit by a bug?" he asked rather incredulously. She seemed deathly terrified of the whole bug set up. More terrified than he was of cooties. Looking around, he found a small window unit across the room. Crossing the room, he switch it on to high. High didn't feel too cool though, so he hoped that it would start to cool the whole room down.

"I wonder where we're sleeping," he pondered. "Cos, you know, there's only two rooms." He made a face of pondering and padded into one of the rooms, looking at the big bed.

After a moment of contemplation, he crawled onto it and began jumping.

"Yeah," said Xavier looking over at the boats. "I used to go out on the lake all the time when I was a younger kid. I was raised by muggles."

He smiled. "And I doubt you'll get internet out here. Look around, there aren't any telephone lines. No telephone lines, no internet."

He shrugged. "So, do you want to go boating later? It sounds like you like have basic knowledge and it would give us a chance to um." he paused. "Catch up?"

It was almost a suggestion and he wanted to hurt himself so bad for saying it, but he had already said it.

One monkey jumping on a bed. One fell down and bumped his head.

"You're going to crack your head open," she said before throwing her head back and grunting as sweat trickled down her neck. "I'm soooooooooooo hoooooooot!"

Elijah closed his eyes and let the warmth from Kay fill him up. "Kay I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you when all of that happened," he said in a low, soft voice. "I let my training take over my life, and I lost my priorities."

He shook his head slightly and held her as close as she could be to him. "You are my heart, my soul... my world. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you. The fact that you endured so much that night kills me. It kills me because I wasn't there for you. Like I promised."

"Is that so?" asked Ashlie. "What about cable lines? We get cable television and all, so there must be available cable internet. What do you think the receptionist does all day?" She grinned to herself and gave her lap top a hug. Not that was really addicted to it or anything.

A smile quirked onto her lips as he asked her to go boating. Arching her brow, she crossed her arms. "Hmmm, not sure," she said, grinning. "See, I have two kids to take care of and all. But, it's a possibility. What cabin are you staying in?"

She still couldn't imagine Xavier being grown up. In her mind, she kept shifting back into the fifteen year old she was always yelling at due to his insistant rule breaking. And yet, here he was standing, definetly not fifteen. Well that certainly was odd. Even odder that he was inviting her for a boating ride.

Jamie ceased his jumping and pointed to the window in this room, where another window unit sat. "Turn that on," he suggested, and fell into sitting position on the bed. "The sheets are cool," he said with a grin, sprawing out on them, as if trying to suck up every last bit of their low temperature.

"I bet it gets cooler, don't worry," he consoled her. "It just might take a little bit. We might actually have to wade out into the lake water. Or take a cold shower. I'll do that tonight. You never run out of cold water."

He beamed and Sai jumped up onto the bed, sailing in a perfect arc, before pawing at Jamie expectantly.

"Two kids?" Xavier asked, quickly. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were married." He tried to remember who her Hogwarts sweetheart had been but he couldn't remember anyone. Oh, why did it matter anyways?

But something did make it matter. It was kind of weird. Maybe it was just seeing her again. "I'm in Cabin 20, just so you know." he said.

Marching over to the window unit she stared at the two buttons unsure of which one was which. Warm to cooler. Well, obviously as cool as you could possibly get would have to be the choice. Cranking it on high glad that this piece of muggle technology didn't give her a hard time she placed her face in front of the air vent and closed her eyes enjoying the sensation of the cool air against her skin and how it sneaked inside her hair cooling her hot scalp.

"You're on the sheets," she reminded him and tried to convey the fact that he was hogging the coolness all to himself. "I sure hope we don't run out of cold water. That is if we even have a shower."

Although Ashlie had told her that they would be staying in a house and to be honest, did this look like a house she still couldn't help but feel a bit paranoid and she never got her hopes up anyways. She'd believe there was a shower when she'd see one.

Elijah chuckled lightly and kissed the top of her head, still holding her close to him. How he loved her.

"I'm sure your cooking can't be that bad," he said looking down at her. "And besides..." he added. "You've got a boyfriend who grew up in a Muggle family. I can help cook any meal we want to."
