Failing to think of anything else to do, she kissed him briefly and leaned into him, watching as Alan stood by Andriel's body and Archie stood in the corner, still looking disgruntled from the Darrin ordeal.

Dumbledore came back into the room and walked over to where Snape and Marcella were standing. "I've talked with the Minister and he has agreed to let you stay here until such a time as a trial can be arranged."
Snape looked up and moved slightly away from Marcella as Dumbledore walked into the room. He was surprised by his news, but grateful. Marcella would get at least her one night.

Smiling, trying to remain calm whilst also acknowledging that the trail was still to be held, she watched as the headmaster exited and then flung her arms around Severus.

Snape pulled Marcella's arms off of himself and looked into her eyes. He held her hands and spoke softly, "I'm going to go back to my quarters now. You can stay here with Andriel, if you want. Or..."

"If there's nothing I can do for Andriel, what's the point in staying?" she asked, not wanting to let go untill she was forced to.

Snape smiled at her. "Then, would you accompany me?" he asked, gesturing for her to follow him.

She nodded her head and lopped her arm through his, her eyes lingering on Andriel's frozen form, still in concentration.

Snape escorted Marcella back to his quarters, among much whispering and scurrying students. Normally he would be handing out detentions and taking away house points, but he just didnt' care about that anymore. If these were to be his last days with Marcella, he wasn't going to bother with students.

As she walked with him, she caught onto her half-brother's eyes and quickly shifted them to the ground, in a sense of sadness, quickly removing the thought of him from her mind.

Entering his room, she shut the door, which was responded to by even further gossip in the halls. "This is getting ridiculous.." she exasperated.

"It doesn't matter anymore," Snape said. "I'll be gone soon enough." He was miserable. Never, in all his life, had things gotten so completely out of hand.

"I dont get it though. You've spent your whole life being careful, chopping between roles, keeping your temper under control. How could it be that in one second, you forget all that and it all goes to pot?!" she cried, desparately misunderstanding the situation at hand. This was all wrong, so wrong.

"Not my whole life," Snape replied thinking of his time at Hogwarts with Potter and his little gang.

He had always had trouble hiding and controlling his emotions around Marcella. The closer he got to her, the more he showed. "You seem to have a strange effect on my emotional control," he said.

"And that happens to have had a negative affect, this time round.." she mused, suddenly understanding everything that had gone on between them. "Maybe if we had never, you know, maybe you would've been better off."

"I don't think it would have made much of a difference. I knew my time was limited; I just never thought that this would be the side which finally got me. I was sure your father would be the one to finally do me in," Snape mused.

"Isn't it ironic.." she sighed, sitting behind him, laying her hands on his shoulders, trying to ease the stress that lay so heavily upon him.

"Yes, it is," he said, covering on of her hands with his own. "If only James and Sirius could see me now... The'd really be enjoying this."

Baffled, not knowing who these people were, she frowned lightly and continued to rub his shoulders, just being there to listen. "I dont think anyone would find the concept of living out the rest of their years in Azkaban, humorous or even remotely funny."

Archie sat down in a chair near the door and rested his forehead in between his index finger and thumb and sighed.

Suddenly, Marce remembered Archie was in the room adjacent and this saddened her slightly, knowing they would have to be careful what they did, for Archie's sake.

Snape snorted, "These were the same people who thought it would be humerous to feed me to a werewolf." He had no idea why all these memories suddenly came flooding back to him and even less of an idea why he was sharing them.
