Jack sighed. "The kids aren't in danger, your friend has them." He said with a great amount of dislike in the word 'Friend' "I should get you to bed, dear...." He said picking her up, being very gentle, for once she couldn't tell him she was fine to walk. It was clear that she wasn't. |
"No." She pushed him away, dropping to her knees. Elizabeth glared at him for his dislike. |
Jack picked her up again, refusing to let her go. "Elizabeth, you need to rest...please...stop this, I'm looking out for your health.." He said looking at her very seriously, showing her this had nothing to do with his dislike, purely to do with her being okay. |
"No, Jack." She pushed him again and tried to stand tall. "I will not have it. I will not let you help me any more because of how you treated my friend just now." She crossed her arms and swayed. |
Jack sighed. "Elizabeth, stop being stubborn....you need to lay down..." He said taking her arm as she swayed so she didn't fall. "How would you like it if our children showed up with someone you barely knew?" He asked knowing she had to understand that. |
She frowned and yanked her arm away, which caused her to fall again. Elizabeth wasnt happy with him. |
Jack picked her back up and put her on the couch. "If you won't go to our room at least stay on the couch...please don't get back up....You'll only fall down." He said knowing she was mad at him but she was being ridiculous, he knew she'd be furious to see her children trusted with someone she barely knew. |
Elizabeth ignored him and stood up. She somehow made it to the door. Her face lit up in joy at seeing Benjy, "Benjy!" Her arms went around his neck and she beamed. Her anger grew at Jack, seeing who it was. |
Jack snarled and shrugged it off, he went to get Alice and picked her up. "Hello, my little flower.." He said to her and walked back inside. "I'm putting her to bed." He said walking away from his wife, a bit annoyed with her. Alice's face lit up seeing her Mommy until she was ignored and that weirdo with the same hair as her got her Mommy's attention, she crinkled her nose in annoynce, until she was again rescued by her Daddy, He was her second favorite person. (Mommy was clearly number one) She smiled up at him as he walked her away...but she still wanted to see Mommy. |
After Elizabeth got steady again, "No... wait a few moments, Jack." She took Alice, lightly. She leaned against the house and sat on the patio so she wont drop her. "Hey there, my precious." She kissed her nose and hugged her. "I missed you, baby girl." |
Jack glared at her, holding their baby in such a state, endangering the little one. "Fine.." He said softly, he understood, she missed their daughter too. Alice lit up as she had Mommy's full attention. Smiling brightly and trying to form words, she was very sleepy but she was pretending not to be so she didn't have to go to sleep. This was the best moment in days! She was being held by her Mommy, who didn't look well...Alice was concerned...but she didn't even know what being concerned was. |
Elizabeth saw the glare and looked at Jack, "I aint endangering her that much... I am sitting and her butt is on the ground so she doesnt fall." She snarled and looked back at Alice. "You are so pretty, my baby girl." She gave her daughter kisses on the cheek and forehead, "I miss ya." She stroked her cheek. |
Benjy just kinda stood there as Jack freaked out at him. He had kinda been expecting that but it was a little more harsh. "Look... Henry owled me to tell me that Elizabeth was sick. So I owled back and said that I'd come right over to see how she's doing and then he asked me to bring the kids and some of Taylor's old clothing." Benjy said planly to Jack just as he heard something fall in the house. And shortly after Eliza herself was at the door and throwing her arms around the redhead, bumping the sleeping Lucas in the process. "Are you okay??? I heard you are sick." Benjy said to Eliza, as her stood on the doorstep of the house. At least Elizabeth was sitting down now... Benjy thought as she took baby Alice. |
Elizabeth glanced up, tired. "Yeah... I just have malaria..." Yeah she could die from it but oh well... She hugged Alice then sighed, "Jack you can take her back now..." She leaned against the wall, closing her eyes. She started to shiver and shake out of coldness... worse than what she was inside since now she was outside in the actual cold. "Th-th-th-thank you Be-be-be-benj-j-j-y." |
Jack glared at Benjy. "Whatever...not your fault i guess...Henry will hear about this..and you could have owled before showing up with a person's children.." He said adding 'is inconsiderate' to the list of things he disliked about the younger man. He Took Alice back from his wife and looked her in the eyes as she shivered. "I want you to go inside...you'll catch your death out there...Poor, Carina is afraid for you enough as it is...rebel against me all you wish, but think of your children." He said walking off, he never thought he'd have to tell her not to be reckless. |
Elizabeth snarled at him and pulled herself up from the floor. She glanced at Benjy, "He is being a grouch today." She rolled her eyes, "Would you like to come in?" She smiled at her friend then frowned at the house, where Jack went to. |
Jack brought Alice to her room and changed her into her pj's. Laying her in her crib he read her a bedtime story and kissed her on the head before turning out the light and leaving her door cracked. He walked back into the kitchen to deal with the noodles. |
Carina pulled on Jack's arm, "Momma is still outside." She pouted and tugged on his arms, pointing. |
Jack nodded, trying to mask his anger. "I know, little one...don't worry. She'll be all right...now where were we..ahh right Magic...it's very real and i'm sure you'd be a brilliant witch..." |
Carina frowned and said through her teeth, "Momma sick outside." She stomped her foot a little and pointed. She was worried and didnt get why Jack wont do anything about it. |
Jack sighed. "Carina...your mother is very stubborn and won't listen to me...I know it's bad for her and i told her that...but your mother....she's like...a dragon...you can only poke it so many times before you get it's teeth..." He said wondering if Elizabeth would listen to Carina.. |
Carina crossed her arms, "I thought you was suppose to be good for her." She frowned and stormed out in the opposite direction. She was clearly upset with him and didnt get why he wasnt helping her mother. |
Jack sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose, feeling a bit like a failure...they were both let down by him...he couldn't make one happy without pleasing the other... |
Elizabeth tried to get back into the house but she was shaking too much. She clung to the railing of the patio, a little too prideful to call for Jack. |
Benjy just stood there, listening to Jack talk. Truthfully, the hit wizard neither liked not disliked the man, but he knew that Jack disliked him very much. He didn't even flinch as Jack took the baby and brought her inside the house, leaving Eliza outside in the cold. .....wait.... Did she just say malaria?? Wasn't that.... deadly... if left untreated??? "uh....Um... we should probably get you inside now so that you can warm up some..." He said, reaching out his only free arm and doing his best to try to support Eliza and help get her inside. |
