Jack held her close to him and shook his head. "You don't look fine...where did you go, Elizabeth?" He asked, he wouldn't take no for an answer. |
"Jack." She glanced at Carina, trying to tell him to drop it in front of the little one. "I am fine..." Carina came over and put a hand on her mother's face, "Pappa... she is a little warm..." She frowned and looked at Jack, worried. |
Jack nodded to his wife and then looked to the girl. "Carina...why don't you go out in the garden...I need to talk to your Mum for a moment...why don't you go ou there and find her your favorite flower, okay?" He said hoping she'd go for a moment, he was very curious about what happened. |
Carina sighed and frowned at him, "Well momma be okay?" She wasnt gonna move if she wasnt gonna be. Elizabeth sighed and nodded, "I am okay, Carina sweetheart, go on do what he said." She frowned when Carina seemed to ignore her, still looking at Jack. |
Jack looked at the girl and nodded. "Yes, I promise i'll take care of her...don't worry okay?" He said and nodded at her to run along. |
Carina sighed but nodded, running out to do what he said to do. Elizabeth leaned her head back and closed her eyes. She was exchausted. |
Jack wrapped his arms around his wife and kissed her forehead gently. "What happened? Where did you go?" He asked very concerned and even more curious. |
Elizabeth clinged to him and buried her head. "I went to the doctors... I havent been feeling good lately..." She frowned, "Ever since my trip to Africa..." |
Jack stroked her cheek. "And?....is everything all right dear?" He asked holding onto her for dear life, he'd lost her too many times to lose her again and for good. |
Elizabeth whimpered slightly at how tight he was holding her. She tried to lose his grip a little bit. "I wont die, if that is what you are asking." |
Jack loosened his grip, seeing how tight it was. "I'm sorry....I'm just worried....what did they say, Darling?" He asked, a slight bit of fear playing onto his face. |
Elizabeth looked at him, "I have malaria..." She closed her eyes and shook slightly. She was freezing but she felt like she was starting to burn up. |
Jack frowned. "What can we do to get rid of it?" He asked very concerned. He'd never had Malaria and never had to treat it...she was the healer of the two of them. "Is there anything i can do?" He asked stroking her cheek with the back of his hand, a sad expression on his face. |
"I have to take what the doctor prescribed..." She held onto him a little, still shaking, "Do you have the AC on? It is freezing in here." Elizabeth cuddled into him, trying to get warm, not thinking that her skin was hot to the touch. |
Jack nodded. "Okay..." He shook his head. "No, Dear..it's winter..the heater is on...But you're burning up.." He said feeling her forehead and cheeks. "Why don't i get you some water, okay? Unless you want something else, Tea?" |
Elizabeth nodded, "Water..." She let go of him so he could get up. She curled up on the couch, shaking even more. "Doo... w-w-we ha-ha-ha-ve a bl-a-a-anket-t-t?" |
Jack walked into their kitchen and filled a plastic cup with water, thinking it wasn't smart to give a shivering woman a glass. On his way back he pulled a large quilt from their closet and wrapped it around her, handing her the water and cuddling close to her. "Better?" |
Elizabeth nodded as he wrapped her into a quilt. "Y-y-yes..." She took the cup and tried to sip it. She tried to put it on the table but missed, dropping it. She cussed under her breath as she tried sitting up to take care of her mess. |
Jack stopped her from sitting up in a gentle way. "Lay down, okay?" He asked and with a flick of his wand the mess was clean and the cup back in his hand. "Aguamenti.." He uttered softly, filling the cup with water. He held it out, not for her to take but for her to drink, if she couldn't hold it he would hold it for her. |
Elizabeth sighed but settled back down. She frowned but took a sip. She turned and buried her face into the couch. She felt useless and tears were silently falling onto the couch. |
Jack saw the frown and the tears and set the cup back down. He kissed her cheek. "Elizabeth, how many times have you saved my life?" He asked i a soft and quiet way. |
Elizabeth sighed and looked up at him, "I just feel useless..." She tried to lightly play with his hair but she didnt have the energy which caused her to feel even worse. |
Jack shook his head. "You could never be useless...you make me smile every time i see you...let me return the many lives i owe you and let me take care of you, okay? Just take it easy..." |
Elizabeth sighed and tried to pull him closer to her. She only managed half of a cm then her hand shook and fell. "My love..." A tear trailed down her cheek as she glanced at him. |
Jack moved close. "It's okay, Elizabeth...just let me take care of you...tell me what you need and i'll do it...I'll owl Gavin and let him know we both need a few days, okay?" He said and kissed her softly. |
