"I can neither confirm or deny that, I was unconscious at the time. But, if harming people was in his nature, surely he would've been reluctant to help me. Surely, if that was the way his character were formed, he would've left me to drown or bleed to death, or just allow my father to posess me and make me commit suicide. If he was a man who enjoyed hurting people, he would've had perfect oppurtunity to do that to me, but he didn't. Because he's not like that!" she said, a little too defensively. "You always did seem intelligent," he commented and then shrugged, "I guess I have a knack for guessing what's wrong with people." |
Completely losing his train of thought, Fudge began to walk back to his seat. He was seated before he realized he hadn't dismissed her. "Thank you Miss Riddle," he said, sounding quite annoyed. Dumbledore stood once again to address the council. "Very well, Miss Riddle, you may return to your seat as we call on the next witness, Mr. Archie Terabel." "Hmmm," she sighed, closing her eyes once more. "I hope he's okay," she mumbled. |
Reluctant to move, she stubbornly did, throwing Fudge the most sour look she could muster. Walking past the dock in which Snape stood, she winked toward him and nodded her head, a smile clearly playing on her lips. "Dont worry yourself." he told her, her head back down upon the pillow. "The best thing you can do for you, is rest that sweet head of yours. Goodness knows, you worry too much over that man, he's old and stupid enough to sort things out for himself." |
Archie slowly stood up and walked down to the defence stand as he passed Marcella he gave her a smile lasting about a second. |
"I can't help but worry about him. It's kind of a side-effect of him being my father and all," she said. "But, you're right. There's nothing I can do for him so I might as well take care of myself." |
Acknowledging Archie's smile, a thought struck her as he passed. realising it were too late to try and communicate with him, she steadied herself back into the stands, biting upon her nails, hoping Archie wouldn't slip something out in the interrogation. "Exactly." he said, kissing her forehead and flicking his wand so that the few candles burnt down to small stubs, blew out and left them in semi-darkness. |
Lupin stood and asked, "Mr. Terabel, could you please recount for us what you remember of the day Professor Snape cursed Mr. FLetcher?" |
"Oh, that's better. I don't know why I didn't think of doing that sooner," Kristi laughed as the room was blanketed in semi-darkness. "I guess I'm not as intelligent as you think I am." |
"Now, what I used would be common sense. That is what you lack, Kristi, not intelligence." he said, his eyes becoming diverted to the nearby window, out of which a half moon shone. "Is that light annoying you?" he asked, concerned. |
"yes, I remember meeting Darrin for the first time on the day that Professor Snape used the cruciatus curse" Archie said carefully choosing his words. |
"Not too much," she said, looking out the window. It was getting late and Kristi was about to start wondering about the appeal again when she chastised herself. She would know the outcome soon enough. |
As if reading her thoughts, he murmered, "These sorts of things can go on well into the night. They may not be back before morning, or for a couple of days, depending on how much evidence they have got to go on." |
"That's not exactly what I wanted to hear," Kristi groaned. "I don't know what I'm going to do if it takes days. I'm certainly not going to be able to concentrate well enough to attend classes." |
The thought of speding days with Kristi, the temptation of escaping Voldemort's grasp for that long, was too much to resist. Kissing her fully on the lips, he said, "You wont have to. I wont move from your side untill they return." |
ooc: oooo... :shifty: Kristi put her arms around Darrin and kissed him back. "Thank you." "What was your impression of Mr. Fletcher?" Lupin asked. |
Vaguely waving his wand to the curtains, they closed slowly and he allowed his wand to fall to the stoney floor, as he wrapped his arms around her and lost himself in her lips. ick, I hate soppy stuff!! ooc- yes well. It fits doesn't it. He did save her life and then appeared to want to kill her? Something tells me this is going to be a long case... |
Sliding his hands onto the ends of the blanket, he took it from over her and shoved it to the side. Lifting a creful hand to her waist, he shifted her jumper up slightly, caressing her side as he kissed her lovingly, but roughly on the neck, a clear drive of desparation behind his actions. |
Kristi gasped and tensed as Darrin's hand met the bare flesh of her side. But, she slowly relaxed. It felt so good to be wanted and to be doing something so utterly selfish to escape thinking about what her father must be going through right now. No sooner had she finished the thought than, all further thoughts of her father were driven out of Kristi's mind as Darrin continued to caress and kiss her. |
Shortly after the flurry of kisses, darrin had fixed his arms around her and pulled the blankets up over the pair of them. Midnight was looming and he knew they would not be back that night. |
Kristi carefully slipped out of bed the next morning, so as not to disturb Darrin. She ran a comb through her hair, threw on some shoes and her school robe, and quietly left the room. She was anxious to hear any word on how the appeal had gone or was going and it was almost time for the post to arrive. Kristi walked outside and sat down beneath a tree to wait for it, curling her hair around her finger in her anxiety. |
Darrin could sense almost the second when Kristi left, Voldemort beginning to return. He shot up dramatically, the sheets falling from him as he clutched his head, a deep burning sensation swelling through his mind. Clutching at the back of his skull, he screamed, foaming at the mouth, the pain almost unbearable. Just as he felt himself unable to take it anymore, the sharp flinch faded, but a dull ache was left, where he had been placed back in his mind. "You ever do that again..." a voice hissed inside his now hollow head, vibrating off the walls, causing a disturbing echo to bounce between his ears. "And you wont even live to regret it..." |
Kristi looked up at the sound of owls overhead. One veered off course and landed on her knees. She took the scroll of parchment the owl had been carrying and he took off. Opening the seal, Kristi read through the letter from Dumbledore. The appeal had started, Snape was doing okay, and he expected the appeal to last at least until the end of the day, if not longer. She sighed and leaned back against the tree. She wasn't sure what to feel. In some ways it was encouraging that it was taking a while because it meant that at least they didn't dismiss the case outright. On the other hand, it meant spending even more time anxiously awaiting the verdict. Kristi got up and walked back to her room, with her head hung low. All she wanted to do was crawl back into bed and sleep until this was all over. |
"he seemed ok, I could tell that he and Miss Riddle were very close friends he seemed ok when I met him ...at first" Archie said carefully. |
"You say, "at first." What happened?" Lupin asked. |
His mind now taken over once more, he stormed up, flinging the covers to the floor and slipping his shoes on distractedly. Storming to the door, he flung it open, just as Kristi arrived and his face twisted into a scowl reflecting the deepest of loathing. |
