Patience smiled at his jesting. He was surprisingly easy to talk to and she liked the sound of his voice. Watching his face, she noticed some emotions flit across his face. Worry maybe? Then he gave her a nervous smiled. Eager to set him at ease she listened to his answer and laughed. The playful sound echoed off the walls.

"Astronomy? That's such a safe answer!" She gave him a light tap, meant to be playful. "My favorite subject would have to be a tie between Transfiguration and DADA. I love using spells and those are two that we get to use magic the most in. And my least favorite would be Muggle Studies."

"Well Mrs goody-two shoes, while there aren't any professors around I'll just have to get you into a bit more mischief." He said grinning at her and soon enough they reached the portrait that lead to the kitchens.

"So how was your summer?" He asked her, he hadn't heard from her in the last few weeks of summer and thought she was busy.

"It was pretty good." She said smiling at Hanz, before we came back to Hogwarts it was quite busy though. Mostly visiting family." She said with a sigh, it was a bit tedious. "How about you?"

They'd reached the door of the kitchen and still Kylie hadn't been able to look at Brent after taking his hand briefly. She reached forward and tickled the pear on the painting and watched as the door opened. She looked back at the others before she walked into the room.


"It was pretty good, we didn't actually do much that was exciting. Kylie and I wrote a few new songs, but that was about it," he told her. "How was your summer?" he asked, just as they reached the door.

He waited for his sister to open the door and then walked in behind her.

Sapphire grinned up at Victor as he spoke, " Oh really now? And what kind of mischief would you get me into too. Pray tell?" She asked with a slight laugh as they reached the kitchens. She looked up at him with a slightly impish grin as she leaned against the wall.

Emma watched a few people leave the hall and smiled as Shawn made a comment."Thats a fair point.."she said.She'd known Shawn for a while,and they'd been pretty good friends which was nice.She thought he was sweet,caring and very hot.Emma smiled at the thought.

She looked at him for a moment and then nodded,"Sounds like a fair plan to me..lead the way.."she said to him,her eyes slightly shining as she looked at him with a sweet look.

Joshua walked with his arm around Kylee. He looked at her, So are you hungry? He smiled at her and rested his head against hers.



Serena walked behind her brother skipping slightly. She smiled a big smile despite the situation. She was humming lightly when she ran into a Slytherin.

Anya smiled to Keegan, "Oh it was pretty much the same as always. I spent almost the whole summer over at Shawns but thats every summer" She told him as she followed him, Kylie, and Brent into the kitchens.

"So new songs eh?" She asked him, "Would you ever let me hear any of them?" She asked, she had always known that Keegan and Kylie wrote songs, that was just what they did, everyone knew that.

Shawn couldn't help but smile when Emma siad lead the way. There was just something about the way she said it. "Where would you like to go?" He asked as he opened the door to the great hall for her.

He had always liked spending time with Emma, even though they weren't like best friends or anything, they were pretty good ones. "So how was your summer?" He asked her.

Bella stepped through the portrait opening and took a look around. No elves? Even more odd than no professors and students. She wandered to the pantry and grabbed a piece of fruit.

Kylee nodded slightly, not wanting to cause his head discomfort. She held his hand around her loosely with her own and smiled slightly. Why do you think everyone's gone? There's barely a handful of us here.... She sighed, happy, though, that Josh was with her.

Keegan smiled at her and said, "sure, sometime I'll have to play them for you." He had almost said that he'd sing for her, but he held back at the last minute.

"So what was the best part of your summer?" he asked her.

He shrugged half way, Don't know. What do you think? He looked around as much as he could while still hugging Kylee. He noticed that the pictures were empty. Kylee? Did you notice the pictures?

Anya smiled as Keegan said that he would play them for her, she had actually never heard him sing and was excited that he was going to.

"Well I guess the best part was, I don't know it was all really boring. We took a trip to Madrid, so I guess that would be my favorite." She told him. Both the Cally and Rainee family always vacationed together each summer, so other than having to put up with Shawn in Spain it was really really fun.

Torin's grin grew wider at the sound of Patience's melodic laugh, a sound that he could definitely hear more often. Merely shrugging playfully at her teasing of Astronomy, he nodded at her own answer. "The most magic and the most difficult," he told her, wondering if he should be impressed or discouraged. She had to be really smart to count those two among her favorites. Perhaps she would agree to help him study and pass his classes. If classes were in session this year. After all, there were no teachers around...

Trying to steer the subject away from academics for the time being, Torin looked down at the Ravenclaw girl and said, "So how were your holidays? Do anything exciting?" Glancing up ahead to peer down the corridor, the Slytherin boy noticed they were nearly at the kitchens and saw a few of the others climbing through the portrait hole. Sliding his arm down the length of hers, he grasped her hand to pull her along. "C'mon, we're nearly there," he said, glancing back at his shoulder to give her another grin, feeling almost like they were embarking on some sort of adventure.

Shrugging Patience looked away from his face. "Melinda decided to take a camping trip to find her 'inner witch' and I spent most of it by myself. Well and Tank." Patting her pocket where the sleeping kitten snoozed happily.

She wondered vaguely at how he would take her currently living status, or even her status period. Sighing, she pushed all thoughts away and looked back up at him. She had to giggle at his enthusiam as he pulled her to the portrait hole that led to the kitchens.

Tristan had given up on trying to talk to the group of lopers, so he was going to follow Torin down to the kitchens. As he turned someone ran smack dab into him. His arm flashed out and caught the person around the waist, making sure they didn't fall over. When he got them both steady his mind finally registered it was a girl. Dropping his arms quickly he shoved them back into his pockets.

"Hey."

Serena was picked up and set back down. She got her balance and smiled at the boy. Hi. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to run into you. I just was sooo not watching whre I was going. Are you okay? She smiled and cocked her head to the side slightly and watched him. She started to bounce slightly.

Tristan smirked at the girl. Yeah, so not watching were she was going. That was stating the obvious. "I'm fine. Thanks. I'm Tristan by the way." He watched as started bouncing in place. Did she have some goofy charm that made it impossible for her to be still. Her voice intrigued him. Odd.

Serena watched him as he watched her, That's good. I'm Serena.She saw him look at her mouth and started moving her hands. She was getting nervous. Which very rarely happened to her. She saw him smirk and she liked it. That was unusal. She smiled again but this time bewildered.

Even more odd was the smile that crossed her face. He couldn't place it. Tristan shook himself mentally. It shouldn't matter to him. His careful mask was back in place. "So, what do you think of our situation?" He would say anything to break the silence.

She looked at him for a moment and said, What situation? Her eyebrows came together, I do confess to some confusion but on the other hand, we better catch up to the others. Let's go! She grabbed his arm lightly and procceded to pull him down the hall to the others.

Victor smirked, "you'll find out soon enough." He said with a smirk, "pity there's no teachers to annoy though." He said with a grin and lead her into the kitchens, looking around he grabbed a cookie and took a bite out of it.

Sapphire grinned up at Victor. " Oh really? Well I am just eaten up with curiosity to find out what you have in store for me." She said watching him as he took a cookie. She took one and started to munch thoughtfully on it. "Maybe one of these days, I'll find out what you actually think of me." She said as she moved from his side and began to explore the kitchen.

"Maybe you will." He said grinning, "I still don't know what you think of me either, eh?" He pointed out although he had his own opinion on what she thought of him. Of course him being a bit full of himself his view might not be true.

Hmmm.... Kylee began, thinking quietly, but she was able to make no further comment before he mentioned the portraits. To be honest, she hadn't been paying much attention to them. She quickly looked around them, though, and saw that they were all empty as well. Wow. Where is everyone, Josh? It was beginning to get kind of creepy.
