"After being cooped up so long, I think I'd like to spend some time outside. We're lucky it looks like its a gorgeous day." She swung his hand with her own as they headed out the front door. "Although it might have been fun to see what else your twisted little Potter mind might dream up in the Room of Requirement." |
Harry laughed. "I'm glad we didn't have to see what my twisted little Potter mind might have dreamt up." They exited the school out onto the grounds, and it was indeed a beautifuk day. It was early in the morning and the sun was shining on the lake , giving it that familiar, glittery effect. |
Ginny leaned against Harry and drew his arm around her shoulder. "Its strange, isn't it? How much you can think you need to leave somewhere only to find out that it was home all along. I wish we could stay here, but you know they're going to try to find somewhere else to hide us soon. I suppose I'm happy we'll at least be together." She tilted her head against his shoulder and smiled at him. |
"Hey... maybe they would let us live here. You know, we could... sleep under Dumbledore's desk or something. And to earn our rent, we could help the house elves!" Harry laughed and kissed the top of her head that was leaning against his shoulder. "Everything's going to be fine... like you said... at least we're together." |
"I don't want to live under Dumbledore's desk. I'm tired of confined spaces, remember?" Ginny stepped out of his embrace and threw her hands in the air. "This is definitely not confined. Come on, I'll race you to the lake. Maybe the squid is around." She took off running before he could respond. |
Harry took off after her, chasing her all the way to the lake, where they both stopped, catching their breath. "You win," He said, "But now... I win." He picked Ginny up and ran with her into the lake, throwing her into the water and splashing her. |
Ginny screeched as she hit the water and splashed around madly in an effort to right herself in the water. "Harry James Potter," she cupped her hands and threw the water at his face. "I just got new clothes on, Potter. We don't exactly have an endless supply. Only..." she thought about the Room of Requirement, "only we do." She dived at him, ripping his glasses from his face and throwing more water on him. |
Harry laughed at the sight of Ginny flailing baout in the water, but when she came for him, he tried to run away, but she had him. And soon she had his glasses off. "Hey!" He shouted, "That's not fair... that's like taking away my eyes!" He pulled her close and covered her eyes with his hands. "How do you like that? No tbeing able to see?" He laughed and splashed her some more with his free hand. |
"I don't like it," Ginny laughed before she twisted her head to lick Harry's hand before biting it just hard enough that he jerked it away. Ginny scooted back out into the water and shouted, "Come and get your glasses, Potter." She made a big show of splashing around before she sat down, only the top of her head peeping out of the water. She wondered how blind he was without his glasses. |
Harry stumbled around in the water, finally getting to Ginny, who was little more than a blur with red hair. Only her head was out of the water. "Give me back my glasses, Weasley... or I shall have to dunk you." |
Ginny ducked under water and swam past Harry, swatting at his legs. She moved around underwater, trying to confuse him, until she finally came up behind him. With a loud shout, she jumped on his back and slipped his glasses back on. "Just try it, Potter." |

The world came into clear definition as Ginny slipped HArry's glasses on and jumped on his back. He fell backwards into the water, managing to emerge both of them underwater completely. He waited until she had unclung herself from him and he surfaced above the water. |
George considered it. "I think he just wanted someone with a sense of responsibility and the power to kick some major Dark Wizarding rearend in the house. He couldn't have expected you to control anyone, since our parents can't even keep us in line. We're Weasleys. And Potter is an honorary Weasley. And Granger wants to be one..." He almost growled at that before shrugging and smiling fully. "I'm being a prat. We're safe now, so we should have some fun while we can. Any thoughts?" Ginny choked on a mouthful of water. "Potter," she finally spluttered to the surface. "You're trying to kill me, I just know it!" She could barely get the words out as she still struggled to cough up the water. Ginny made her way to the shore and flopped ungracefully down on the dry, warm ground. |
She had to admit George had a point. Certianly Dumbledore hadn't expected her to keep them in line, merely to be there if anything bad should happen. Which it did and she wasn't so, no matter what she'd pretty much blown it so, why not have a bit of fun after all that? "Fun, eh? Well, I'm sure there's loads of fun to be had around here, even if there aren't any students around," Tonks replied, scratching her chin and narrowing her eyes in thought. |
"Tell me something, Tonks... I've always wondered this. I've heard a rumor that all the teachers' personal quarters are protected by an age line as well as being invisible. I've never managed to find any of them, but I'm certainly old enough now. You've been here a few times... is that true? What say you to a little professional curiousity? See how the professors live and all that?" |
"You know, I've never been here when it wasn't on business since I left," Tonks said, her eyes twinlling with mischief. "I think that's a grand idea but, where should we start looking? I mean, I'm sure Snape's quarters are in the dungeons, but I don't think I'd fancy going there..." |
George leaned in seriously so that Tara couldn't hear his words. "You know, I've always wondered if Flitwick's bed was only about four feet long. What say we go look for his quarters?" He glanced over his shoulder at Tara before looking back at Tonks. "You're not bad for a 'grown up', Tonks," he mocked her. |
"Why would I try to kill you?" Harry asked, laughing, and joining Ginny on the ground. "It's really not a good thing to kill people you love. Especially when they're so beautiful." He ran his hand through her wet hair and smiled at her. |
Ginny let him stroke her hair while she lay still on the ground before she finally caught his hand and pulled him closer to herself. "I don't know. I think you tried to drown me, and it will take a lot of work to convince me otherwise. I like the part where you called me beautiful. That was excellent." She put her hand to her wet hair and pulled a dirty underwater plant that had been stuck to her ear. "Ugh... I look like a mermaid out of water, don't I?" |
"Maybe a little... but, a beautiful mermaid. And you certainly don't have their... ferocious tendencies. Well, maybe you do have a little of that too. But it's a good thing," He smiled and pulled her closer. It was a good thing it was warm out or the to of them would have been frozen. |
"Yes, I am quite ferocious, aren't I? Perhaps I should go down and live with the mermaids and get myself a pet hinkypunk and you can swim down and visit me. Make sure you bring enough gillyweed to stay a while. We'll live in a little hut made of sea weed. It'll be lovely." She rolled over suddenly so that she was seated on his stomach. "My brother Charlie is much more ferocious than I am. You'll have to be careful when he finds out about us. The year that Dean came home with us for Christmas, Charlie tied him up in Dad's shed and read to him from Bevvy Skibbun's Wizarding Guide to Reproduction." |
Tonks poked George hard in the shoulder. "Enough of that. I'm not that much older than you, even if I am more mature," she said, trying hard not to laugh before whispering back to him "Now, let's go try and find Flitwick's quarters. I'm guessing they might be somewhere near Ravenclaw tower. Of course, I could be wrong but, I just figured since Snape sleeps so near the SLytherin Common Room, perhaps the other professors stick close to their hosues, as well." |
George rose and offered a hand to Tonks to help her up. "Professor, we're going to go for a walk and try to forget this morning and stretch our legs. If you don't need anything..." She shook her head and George pulled Tonks quickly from the room. "Hey, once we find his room, I'm going to borrow a pair of his pants." He pointed to his still bear legs. "I forgot to grab pants out of Ginny's box." |
Tonks giggled. "You're going to borrow a pair of Professor Flitwick's pants? You know, there are easier ways of getting pants; pants that fit, I might add. But, really, why would you want to hide those lovely boxers? I mean, no one can read them if they are covered up with pants," she said, casting a glance at his rear and blushing. |
