The Common - Grounds
Leaving the castle and following the stone path will lead you into the Common. The Common is set up with trees and rose bushes around it. This makes the area seem more private and closed off than it really is. It allows for a sense of relaxation for students to study, catch up with friends, or just find a nice spot to read.
Students can decide if they want to bring a blanket to set on the grass or choose one of the many white benches to sit on. The trees and bushes attract birds, butterflies, and other small creatures, so keep your eyes out for nature to happen right before your eyes.

It was a beautiful day outside. The sun was shining, but the temperature was comfortable, neither hot nor cold, with fluffy clouds dotting the sky, and a gentle breeze caressed his face.
Yet here he was, studying.
Cliff knew it was necessary - even if there was no chance of him acing the JARVEYs, he wanted to earn decent grades at the very least. Failing wasn't exactly fun. But neither was studying.
He let out a sigh from his position on the ground, legs crossed and history textbook open in front of him. Maybe he should just accept that he would be getting a terrible grade in this subject and call it a day. He could be writing another scene in the movie he wanted to film over the summer or testing out his camera. But he didn't want to quit that quickly, tempting as it was. Maybe he could memorize something.
As he attempted to once again read the same paragraph without actually processing it, he fiddled absentmindedly with his wand with one hand and picked up a small rock with the next. He tossed the rock, and then recalled it with a quiet, "Accio." He repeated that process with each sentence read and reread. Not really helping his memorization attempts, but it at least felt like he was doing something.

Antonio had not meant to linger for long. He, too, had JARVEYs to study for.
In fact, he'd been cutting across the grounds toward the potions hut with his satchel slung low over one shoulder, sleeves pushed to his elbows, a rolled bit of parchment tucked behind his ear like he'd forgotten it was there. The weather alone was enough to pull anyone outside—warm light, just enough breeze to stir the grass. For a moment, he'd simply been enjoying the brief moment before having to devote the next few hours to studying.
But then he spotted Cliff.
Or, more accurately, he spotted the rock.
It zipped neatly back into his housemate's hand with a soft pull of magic, over and over again, like some kind of absent-minded metronome. Antonio slowed, head tilting slightly as he watched the pattern. Toss, Accio, catch. Toss, Accio, catch.
A faint smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Y'know, amigo," he called as he drifted closer, voice easy, threaded with amusement, "if that's your study method, I'm pretty sure you're doomed."
