The High Street is the main street of Hogsmeade, from which you can access all its most famous shops. This particular street connects to several narrow streets and alleyways due to how the shops are laid out. Some of these passages will take you to other shops and even the residential area of the village. Stay on this path until the very end, past Dervish and Banges, and you will find yourself coming to a stop at a stile that faces the mountain beyond.
It is not common for those who are people-watching in the benches next to the street lamps to see large numbers of students and adults ambling up and down the pavement and peering into shop windows. After all, this is the most popular place you can meet up with your friends before heading over to the Three Broomsticks for a butterbeer, entering Zonko's with a mischievous grin, or diving into Honeydukes with your mouth already watering.
She could always count on Alouette to look like a fashion plate. It was one of the things Pippa had always found amusing, probably because her own style was rather edgier than her sister’s. For example, she had an artfully tattered red jumper on underneath a black leather motorcycle jacket she’d borrowed from Dad a couple years ago and never returned, over lined denim leggings and black boots with wool socks underneath. Plus, her hair practically acted as an insulator, anyhow. Laszlo obviously thought so, anyhow.
Her thoughts had still been on the flyers to request a guitar tutor as her sister had finally caught up to her, meaning it had taken a moment before she had turned to acknowledge Allie’s arrival. Only a moment, though, as she had glanced down at their entwined arms before looking up at her sister’s face with a laugh. “Probably. I doubt we’ll have much chance to buy anything once we’ve returned to London”, she mused aloud. Not that she was particularly fussed over presents. She’d figure things out one way or another.
“You always are up for ice cream, aren’t you?”, she added, laughing softly a second time. It wasn’t exactly balmy in Scotland at the moment. Definitely different from New Zealand this time of the year. Especially at the reserve.
If one asked her, Alouette would say it was these stark differences that made the older Wild girls so much fun to get to know. As far as siblings went, she’d go so far as to say she and Pip got along pretty well. Opposites attract, wasn’t it? Though the siblings probably were more of the same charge repels type of evidence. And while the sixth year didn’t think she could pull off the edgy look, her sister certainly did.
Sharing that she wanted guitar lessons would have been an excellent tip too for Alouette - because even if Pip didn’t post an add, she probably could have found someone to do the lessons and then voila, one gift already figured out. She might have even had the forethought to sweeten the deal and find someone cute who would be able to give the lessons, just an extra cherry on top. “It’d be nice if here at Hogwarts we had better options for ordering things. You’d think that’d be a service that would be better provided by shops further away - since purchasing is so … limited here.” Which was more of an assumption considering she had yet to actually step foot into any of the Hogsmeade businesses.
Allie grinned, giving a small shrug of her shoulders as her curls bounced slightly. “Who isn’t always ready for ice cream? It’s a delicious treat no matter the weather.” Today was a better day than she’d been seeing weather wise, but even if it weren’t she’d still miss the little parlour. “You think that little date spot would have any? I’ve heard they have same pastries.”

It was the third weekend in February and it meant another Hogsmeade weekend. It also meant that the cold was still there. But that barely was an issue when you were a wizard and were able to perform certain charms to keep your clothing warm. Then the cold wouldn’t bother you.
“Do we have somewhere in mind we wanna go?” Ary asked Jan. He had thought they could eventually make a stop at Zonko’s and the Three Broomsticks but the guy wasn’t picky. Besides, he was being a good friend by letting his dormmie choose. “Or we could just keep walking. Sour Patch Kid?” Ary offered Jan the pack which he had literally opened a second ago. ”Red ones are the best. Cherry flavour.” It was a Redberry Cherry one that he was now plopping into his mouth.

Jansher was used to the winter weather. Most of the time. On the especially colder days, however, it also helped having a godfather teach you certain charms that were useful in the time of need. Plus, with help from a dormmate friend such as Ary, the walks were like a pleasant sunny day.
"Mm... nope," Jan wasn't usually the type to have a purpose in his step. Though maybe he should nowadays. "Thanks," He took one tasting the cherry flavour from a red one. "You ever tried combining them with a Bertie Bott? Sometimes gives double the flavour." Unless it was dirty dishwater flavour, nothing ever redeemed that one.
"You already signed up for clubs, right? I'm still thinking about which ones to join next year," Maybe he had some ideas since Jan didn't want to end up with the wrong crowd.

Aryan usually forgot that Professor Feirgrund was Jansher’s Godfather, for some reason. It was an important fact about his friend, but as far as he knew, Jan didn’t go around telling the world about it. Much like Ary didn’t go around letting everyone know that Aunty Hady is one of his dad’s best friends and so the second year was quite close with the CoMC professor.
“No worries. We’ll just enjoy the walk then.” It was a great day, the environment was cold, the boys were warm, life was good. “Nuh uh.” Ary considered the suggestion. “Now thats would be very interesting. What would you pair it with, Jan? A nasty flavour, just for the fun of its or a nice flavour?”
Ary kicked at a pebble as the boys continued on their stroll so that it raced a few feet ahead of them. “Yep. Creature Companions, Duelling Club, SPEW, Wizard Card Collectors' Club.” Note that he had not joined any sort of athletics club. “I cans help! What do you enjoy doing in your spare time, even if you’re nots good at it?”

The nice thing about the walk was just enjoying the scenery with a mix of window shopping. So many shops, and they had the majority of the year to explore them. It also helped to get away from their Professors ruling the school. As much as he loved his godfather and he imagined Ary felt the same with their staff familial connections they had in common.
"I'd have to be paid for a nasty flavour pairing," Jan chuckled, "It'd go great with the hot fudge or lemon flavoured," He added after some thought. "What would you suggest?" Something to dare or something worth a share.
"The Duelling Club? You don't get hurt that often, right?" Jan didn't want to admit his hesitation on joining last year. But he likely didn't have to share his true reasons why. As for what he was into, "Maybe something active. I do like the flying lessons we get from Professor Burke, but I think anything to do with outside as well would be fun." Though he already asked about the Duelling Club, "What's it like in those clubs?" He already had a picture for how they went, but wanted to hear his friend's thoughts.

It was indeed so very nice to just get out and enjoy the views. He wasn’t a huge shopper, usually only spending on necessities and items he wanted to buy for someone he loved but one could never deny that window shopping could be relaxing. It was nice to get away from the professors, from the essays, from all the schoolwork as a whole! Ary was looking forward to being out in Hogsmeade for the entire day, actually.
The guy laughed. “A good scheme to makes Galleons.” It was a good way to get compensated for feeding one’s mouth yucky tasting things. “Lemon flavour is a goods one. I’d chose tangy or sour flavours over sweets so… my choice would be… cranberry. Or gooseberry.” Yes, he knew he was weird in this manner.
“Nah. Professor Khanna woulds normally match us withs our age group so we can be equally matched as possible. Ands he’s there in case anyones gets hurt. Plus the dangerous spells are not allowed.” See? Three good reasons why Jan should join the Duelling Club! “They're rathers enjoyable. Especially Creatures fors me since I love creatures. It’s nice swapping Wizards Cards and talking about ways to treats the Elves betters.” Ary paused for breath. Boy, talking was hard work. “Flying sounds like your thing. I woulds say that Creatures Club can be too since that’s usually outdoors.”

Fynley was evidently not himself. It wasn’t like he was usually a bright and bubbly person but he did often carry himself with an air of confidence and friendly swagger that he hoped made him approachable to the onlooker. Today he looked a bit of a mess. His curls were disheveled and flopped unstyled upon his forehead where they rested across his tired eyes, he looked a little paler than usual and his clothes were crumpled as if he had just picked them up from a pile on the floor which quite frankly he had.
He’d come to Hogsmeade for a breath of fresh air and to get away from the castle which had become even more suffocating after the Christmas break. He had remained at Hogwarts anyway considering he had no home to go to and had thankfully had the companionship of several of his favourite people to keep him somewhat sane. And yet when the other students had returned and the school became the enormous social distraction that it was, he found himself stressing again. He’d never put such importance on his grades, he couldn’t care less about a piece of paper telling him how thick he was and yet suddenly it seemed to dawn on him that that stupid letter would dictate the rest of his life and to top it all off had created a strained and complicated scuffle between two of the most important men in his life.
He could be spotted sat on a bench somewhere between two of the shops on the high street, hands clasped in his lap and his head hung low deep in contemplation. Or quite possibly asleep with his eyes wide open.

Wrapped up against the chill, the oldest Grimaldi was making the most of the Hogsmeade weekend, as she did every time. Of course it wasn't the only time she left the castle, but it was the only sanctioned time, and given she didn't have to worry about whomever she was with getting caught she was much more relaxed. Her eyes scanned the pathway as she walked, wondering if she'd catch sight of one of her sibcousins and totally not looking out for a certain sixth year Slytherin.
Winifred's initial reaction when she happened upon Fynley was to be concerned - he didn't seem his usual jovial self, what with the hung head and messy hair. She was tempted to push some of the locks away from his forehead, but forced herself to refrain by shoving her hands into her pockets.
"Knut for your thoughts?" she asked softly, scuffing the toe of her boot on the cobbles in front of him.

It was likely the assumption that his current state of mind meant he didn’t think he’d look approachable was the reason he was so surprised that someone had bothered to talk to him. He had seen the boots first, women’s boots and therefore not one of the aforementioned guys he’d been wrangling his thoughts over. The realisation of who the voice belonged to came second as she slowly lifted his head, hair still flopped irritatingly across his eyes but he couldn’t be bothered to correct it.
Then came a small smile - a genuine one at that as the present company was one that was always welcomed even with his current negative attitude. “Hey Winn” he started, contemplating how to respond to the question she had sent his way. If it was really a question and not just a way to get his attention. “You don’t have to pay me for those, I’d give them to you for free” he chuckled half-heartedly. Even if money was tight right now and all he could think about was what on earth he was going to do after graduation and without a home to go back to.
“I was just.. thinking. NEWT year an’ all.” It wasn’t a complete lie, nor was it wholly the truth. It was expected however that his final exams which dictated the direction his future would be going in would cause a seventh year some kind of stress but it was Fynley, the type who claimed he couldn’t give a monkeys if he failed or not.

Maybe he shouldn't be so surprised that his friend was bothering to talk to him. Honestly, Fynley, that was exactly what friends did. Hence her presence here, right now. Worrying just a little.
His smile was something of a relief, though - whatever was plaguing his thoughts wasn't too dire, at least, that his face was locked into a frown. That, or she was losing her ability to determine genuine from forced smiles. Given that that was a skill she prided herself on, Winifred hoped it wasn't the case. But either way, it wasn't something she was going to dwell on right then. "I love a free thought," she smiled back, before dropping onto the bench beside him, and nudging him gently. "Somehow I don't think that's everything." Her response to his mention of NEWTs was gentle, but she had never thought of him being particularly worried about grades. "However, if you don't want to talk about whatever else is bothering you, I won't push."
And she wouldn't, because she knew how it felt to not want to talk and have people insist that talking helped. Instead, she cast around for a distraction, and then bent to scoop up some smooth pebbles from by their feet. "Bet I can throw further than you," she said, offering him one of the stones. "But you're disqualified if you hit a first year."

The thing was Fynley might’ve opened up a little more if he was truly able to pinpoint what it was that was affecting his mood in the first place. He didn’t mind if she did push for an answer either if he had a solid one to give. “Honestly? I don’t know what I’m thinking about.” The small laugh that followed was genuine albeit less gusty than usual. “Just seventh year in general I guess? NEWTs, figuring out the future, conflicts between my best friend and my boyfriend..” He scrunched his nose up a little. “Other than that everything is great!” Not to make Winn panic over the fact she would be facing seventh year soon enough.
The challenge was a welcome distraction, one that the Slytherin couldn’t help but to smirk at. “You’re challenging a Quidditch Keeper to a throwing competition?” Arguably keeping was more about the catching than the throwing but it involved the same group of muscles and.. well not to toot his own horn or anything but he was pretty good at it. “What do I get as a prize if I win?” He accepted the stone from her and rolled it in the palm of his hand, chuckling at the statement about not hitting a first year. “I won’t intentionally but if one walks in front of me that isn’t my fault.”

With her camera strap around her neck, Ivy snapped a quick photo of the shops on one side of the street. It didn't capture all of them, but she liked the angle on the redesigned shops, especially with the people wandering about dressed up in historical attire.
She had agreed to meet Cooper here for the day, the event presenting a perfect opportunity for a little photo session like they used to do when they were in school. It had been awhile since she had extensively used her camera - but by choice this time, rather than due to fear or negative experiences. She'd simply been using her creative energy more towards her poetry and other writing these days, though she did bring out her paintbrush on occasion too. But it would be fun to stretch her photography muscles again, especially for such a special event as this, even if there were the occasional twinges of conflicted feelings being this close to Hogwarts once again.
Ivy refused to let those feelings affect her time with her friend, however, so she ignored them, focusing instead on people watching as she waited.

The frequency with which Cooper found himself in Hogsmeade was almost ridiculous. Performing house calls as a creature healer to some of the residence of Hogsmeade had certainly not been on his BINGO card for life but it was not a terrible twist of fate by any stretch of the imagination. The Ravenclaw alumnus was still working more than was necessary with shifts at the Menagerie taking up the majority of his time, taking practically any freelance photography job he could get, and occasionally filling in for Monsieur Benoit as a winged horse jockey. The last of these items on the list being something currently under scrutiny and included in some scandalous gossip among the French pureblood circuit simply because he only had an amateur jockey license rather than professional and apparently this was a point of interest - he truly would never understand high society. He did not hate his career path...but he still did not feel fulfilled. He still had not found that spark that showed him that what he was doing was what he was meant to do.
What he was meant to do today was clear, thus making it easy to wear a smile as arrived at Hogsmeade and made his way down the high street to spot Ivy. He had recently acquired some new camera equipment, lenses and such, that he wanted to properly trial before the weddings he was providing his photography services for during the week. Spotting her a bit further up street from where he was, Cooper adjusted the strap of his bag so it settled more comfortably across his chest and slipped his thumb and pinky into the corners of his mouth to whistle loudly, mimicking a bird's call, to draw her attention. And then he offered a wide grin. "Waiting for someone?"

It was Diego’s first time in Hogsmeade and Viano was determined to show him every single corner of the village. Not that Vi knew every bit of the place; they could always explore together where necessary. All bundled up in his clothing, which were lined with Heating Charms thanks to his older sister, the older Gryffindor peered at Di as they trudged down the snow covered High Street.
“So, what do you think so far, Di? I mean, I know we haven’t gotten started on your exploration…” Surely his best friend had already formed an opinion? Vi was excited to hear all about it! He kept his gaze a little longer on Di than was necessary. It couldn’t be helped, not when Vi had been struggling with his feelings for about two months now. He mentally sighed, absently kicking at snow in frustration with himself. The second year needed to talk to Vesper about this; it was getting to a point where it was all too much to handle on his own.
Despite that, he absolutely refused to let the storm within him ruin Di's fun.

Diego was happy to be out here. His closest venture was at some of the activities that took place at the Hogsmeade Wizarding School, but even then he visited via floo powder and never walked through the village. Vi's older sister was nice enough to even perform a heating charm on his clothing before they walked outside. His eyes sparkled reflecting the occasional snow fall as he looked around.
"I think it's brilliant!" He smiled before running to wrap his arms around in a hug. "Thank you Vi for being my tour guide!" Letting go as he ran around the street his arms out. "You know what we should do?" He squatted down to pick up a snow ball. "Think fast!" Throwing it in his direction. The village was nice looking, but look at all this snow!

Vi liked how happy Di seemed. It was definitely the look that suited him best; in that moment, Vi could help but reaffirm to himself that he was always going to do his best to do whatever he could to keep that sparkle in his friend’s eyes. Anyone could see that Diego Melo-Dreamer was the most precious!
Viano barely had a second or so to register the enthusiastic words before he found himself enveloped in a hug.
A hug from Diego.
It was as though Viano’s brain had ceased to cooperate with reality since he suddenly felt everything go hazy. He heard a part of himself yell that he should hug Di back and he did exactly this, putting both arms around Di albeit cautiously. He somehow was irrationally afraid that Di would sense his feelings through their contact. “You’re welcome, Di,’’ he managed then was watching as the other guy ran around. Oh yeah, Diego deserved to always be this happy.
Perhaps his brain was still addled from the hug but Vi didn’t comprehend what Di was up to until it was too late, until there was a snowball hurtling at a fast rate at him. It slammed into his left shoulder but was enough to pull him out of his reverie. “I’ll get you back!’’ Some residual snow was wiped from his face quickly before the older boy was grabbing snow to shape into a ball. “Revenge is a dish best served cold!’’ And the snowball zoomed towards Diego.
It was a good day to be out and about despite the freezing weather. With how overworked Tony was feeling in recent days the Scrivenshaft’s shopkeeper decided to venture out to The Three Broomsticks for a warm drink. With his beloved stationery shop closed for about half an hour (there was a sign on the door announcing as much) Tony was determined to have some me-time.
Or he was attempting to. His favourite cat, Goose was squirming under his arm. “Hang still Goose! What is it? You hate your new onesie?” Goose was dressed in a warm reindeer onesie complete with antlers. Goose gave an almighty meow and made one sudden spring from Tony’s arms. It landed on its paws before dashing off down the street.
“GOOSE! YOU GET BACK HERE!” Oh Merlin! This was not going to end well. Tony was quite out of shape. How he wished he had half of Goose's agility!

The gentle fall of snow added a magical feeling to the village of Hogsmeade, and in a way it soothed the nervousness Tristan was feeling right now. He had invited Diamond for a date here, and though he was far more comfortable than he had been during their very first date, there was another reason for his nerves now. A good one-
Well, hopefully, it depended on what she would say in response, but...it was still good. Exciting. Nerve-wracking. So many things.
He stood outside of the Three Broomsticks, having already ordered a hot cocoa for each of them, one held in each hand. A lunch date was in the plan for later, but he thought a walk around the village with hot cocoa would be a nice start. And channeling his nervousness into movement instead of sitting down was an added benefit. It would be easier to get the words out - or so he hoped.
But for now, he needed to wait, alternating between scanning the crowd for Diamond and watching the falling snow to relax his mind.

Winter suited Hogsmeade in a way was offensively picturesque ― like one of those quaint (but tacky) little postcards you might buy at the Owl Post.
Diamond could practically hear the background music some sentimental filmmaker would insist belonged to the softly falling snow, the rooftops dusted white, and the warm glow spilling from windows. Snowflakes drifted ubiquitously through the village, settling on shoulders, rooftops, hats, and eyelashes alike until the entire place looked as though it had been curated by someone with an excessive fondness for romance. If she were writing about it — and she very well could... if she were desperate enough for a seasonal feature — it would be something unbearably saccharine about romance flourishing despite the cold.
Fortunately, she had standards.
The heels of her knee-high suede boots clicked confidently against the cobbled street, the sound softened by fresh snow as she made her way toward the Three Broomsticks wearing a sadie brown wool coat, tailored neatly through the waist, cinched with a broad belt that did more for the silhouette than for warmth. Beneath it peeked the hem of a cream knit dress, the soft color playing beautifully against the caramel leather of her gloves and matching handbag tucked beneath one arm. Gold hoops caught the pale winter light whenever she turned her head, while her curls had been coaxed into a glossy half-up style, the rest cascading over one shoulder in immaculate spirals that had absolutely not spent the better part of an hour perfecting. A swipe of berry gloss completed the ensemble somewhere between the apparition point and the village ― to draw attention to another of her obvious assets, of course.
The early days of wondering whether Tristan would ever gather the courage to brush his hand against hers had long since melted away. They'd graduated to lingering kisses stolen beneath doorframes, quiet mornings spent together when their schedules allowed, his shy smile against her shoulder, her lipstick occasionally finding its way onto his collar in ways that amused her far more than they probably should have.
WWN wanted another evening panel discussing transfer rumours. Witch Weekly expected edits before Monday's print deadline. Somewhere in her handbag sat an invitation she'd marked with a very noncommittal maybe to some industry gathering where everyone would pretend they hadn't already heard the gossip before loudly discovering it over champagne. A professional obligation for networking and material, if nothing else.
Whether she would be attending this evening or not was a decision that had very little to do with the event itself.
She rounded the final corner and spotted him easily, standing exactly where he'd said he would be and she tried not to let the smile on her face be too obvious. She, truly, could not stand most men ― luckily for him, his personality had made him an exception. She stopped just inside his space, glancing from the cocoa to him.
"Hey there, handsome. You must be absolutely parched. Two hot chocolates?" She didn't wait for him to respond before plucking one from his hands. "I better take one of these off your hands."
And before he had the chance to become even more adorably flustered — as he invariably did despite himself — she leaned in, the scent of vanilla and winter roses following her, to press a lingering kiss against his cheek.
To be fair, he had already seemed flustered before she had even arrived, which was nothing that her instincts immediately flagged as peculiar ― Wonder Boy was often teetering on that edge in her presence even in his more confident moments.
