| | |  Wizarding World of Harry Potter opening events kick off
This morning Bill Davis, president of Universal Orlando Resort, and Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, were on hand to welcome the world’s media, including SnitchSeeker, to the Grand Opening press events that are happening throughout this week.
Comparing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to other top attractions at Universal, Mark Woodbury explained that the Wizarding element is a ‘complete and total revolution’ that is on a ‘different scope and scale’ to anything they’ve ever done before. Woodbury also remarked that following the soft opening of the park, he is 'over the moon' regarding the feedback he has had from fans. He also mentioned that the collaboration process with J.K. Rowling was 'outstanding'.
Bill Davis spoke in regards to the high volume of visitors expected this weekend, assuring that he is confident that the team will be able to cope with the numbers. He also confirmed that Islands of Adventure will be open from 5:30am on Friday for fans to gather prior to the red carpet Grand Opening, which begins at 9am EDT and will be broadcast live (feed can be found here).
The Evening Celebration that takes place in the park tonight will also be broadcast live, this time from 9:30pm EDT. We will be present at this event and shall be live tweeting all evening, with coverage on the actual site appearing late tonight.
Additionally, the Orlando Sentinel have exclusive panoramic photos of the park, which allow you to view various attractions from 360-degree angles, including the Hogwarts entrance, the Butterbeer cart, the entrance to Hogsmeade, the Owlery, the Three Broomsticks and Dervish & Banges.
