* Williams May Not Score GoF Summary:
John Williams may not compose GoF music... Article: Distressing news from JWfan.net: Quote: We have learned from two very reliable sources that John Williams is not scoring "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", due to scheduling conflicts -although things might change in the coming months.
According to o*ne of the sources (someone very close to the composer), Williams might write the score for "Memoirs of a Geisha". Both 'Harry Potter 4' and 'Geisha' are scheduled for release in Fall, 2005. Courtesy: Mugglenet.com |

I really dont see the sense in backing out after 3 scores, which were fabulous. I can understand wanting to leave the series at his best but c'mon, we love the music the way it is. I dont want it to change!

He probably wants to move onto bigger and better things, staying on the same film doing the same sort of music can probably get a bit repititive or looking for a new challenge.

If that's the reason he should also want to move on from Star Wars too then ^

Aw, man! This sucks. John Williams was the greatest, the music gave me goosebumps (good goosebumps!) Oh well, he's probably on to better things.

That stinks, because Williams is my favorite composer - but, I'm sure that he'll allow the new composer to use the base theme, which is the most important. I hope he works out his 'scheduling conflict', and it's not just a bid to get paid more money...

OMG!!!!....this is indeed a g disappointment to all the HP crew and cast and esp. the fans!!!.......his soundtrack to all three movies were awesome and PoA was the most unique one......it was amazing....there were very few repetitives (spl?) in the PoA soundtrack like hedwig's theme.....the others were really awesome!!!....i loved Buckbeak's Flight and Mischief Managed the most......they were fantastic pieces of music.....awww....i hope they come to an agreement over his schedule!!....he has gotta stay!!!!.....

I really, really liked Williams's scores for Harry Potter, especially for PoA. John Williams is an amazing composer, but I've secretly always wondered what Hans Zimmer would do for the score. Anyway, I hope Williams does GoF, but if he unfortunately doesn't, maybe if I wish hard enough Hans Zimmer will consider doing it...

What??? He MUST do the soundtrack! He's amazing!
I suppose we could just have Howard Shore to do it, I loved LOTR soundtrack.
They better keep the music the same though at the beginning, you know, Hedwig's Theme.

I don't see the sense in not making music for the GoF after making such sensational music in the first three movies

But let's keep a good bubble of hope for now and hope that he changes his mind and scores for GoF!

*Jumps around and stamps foot like a disobedient two year old, screaming NO FAIR!!!*
Big shame if he does pull out, I will await better news in the coming months, as they may be able to re-schedule the scoring, hopefully not delaying the release of the movie though...
