| | |  West Salem sisters knit Harry Potter scarves for charity
Ingrid and Britta Enstad of West Salem, Oregon, have combined two of their favorites hobbies, Harry Potter and knitting, to raise money for charity. The sisters knit Harry Potter themed scarves, hats and wristbands, then choose a different charity every season to donate all of their profits to, such as humanitarian relief in Darfur, Sudan. Quote:
"We've put both our hobbies together (reading Harry Potter and knitting)," Ingrid said. "We haven't found anyone else who is doing this. The scarves we've seen aren't handmade or authentic to the books."
"Then we thought we could probably sell these. People always wonder where we got them," Britta said. "We would be knitting anyway, so why not knit for a reason?"
