Video: New behind-the-scenes look at Neville's stand from Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Harry Potter: the Quest unlocked a new feature from the Harry Potter films focusing on the scene from Deathly Hallows: Part 2 where Neville stands up to Voldemort at the Battle at Hogwarts featuring commentary by director David Yates and actors Daniel Radcliffe, Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch.
Matthew Lewis: I really liked the scene in the courtyard with the Voldemort monologue and Neville stands up to him.
Evanna Lynch: It's as if it's over and it's kind of like there's no point in fighting anymore.
Matthew Lewis: It was really my first scene, and then we came into the studio and we went straight into the courtyard set for a rehearsal and Ralph [Fiennes] was there. It was the first I'd spoken to him, but he put me at ease anyway very quickly. We had a good time at rehearsing, then we went back inside to all the hair and make up, all the blood and the bruising and the ripped clothes. We went back outside to the courtyard and it was just so effective. I was just so angry at Voldemort that it was very, very easy to get into the character.
David Yates: He's battered in this story, and he's bruised and he's broken, but he gives this speech about why they're not gonna give up - which is suicidal. It's kind of like, "He must be insane." Everybody knows he's gonna be killed. But, yeah, it was lovely to see Matt do that, and he did it really, really well.
Daniel Radcliffe: Matt's put so much into these films and he's been so good. He does brilliantly in that scene.
Oliver Phelps: He couldn't even hold his frog together on the first film. So to go from someone who loves frogs to someone who's slicing up snakes, he's certainly turned into quite a warrior and headed the resistance at Hogwarts, which is a very brave feat for Neville to do.
Order the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 DVD and Blu-ray sets, out today in the U.S. and December 2 in the UK, at the Amazon links below, or through the official Warner Bros Shop.

That must've been hard for Matt to act all heroic and do a good, epic job of cutting Nagini's head off... when there was nothing there to slice but air!
I LOVED Matt's delivery of these lines. He did great!
My only beef with this scene is Yates didn't focus on the continuity of emotion in the other characters. Ginny had just screamed her head off in agony because Harry is dead, but in the next scenes while Matt is talking, everyone, including Ginny, Ron and Hermione, are just standing there with concerned looks. Given what Ginny had just done, she should have been just short of hysterical with grief, hanging in her father's arms for strength. Hermione wouldn't have been much different and leaning on Ron. There were no tears, no struggling to find that inner strength... just standing there. The scene came across as disjointed, in a way. It was as though no one was THAT broken up that their hero was gone.
