Video: Deathly Hallows, Helena Bonham Carter coverage at 83rd Academy Awards
The 83rd annual Academy Awards took place this evening, where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I was nominated for two awards, in achievement in visual effects and art direction. Unfortunately, Deathly Hallows was shut out in both categories, losing to Inception and Alice in Wonderland, respectively. Actress Helena Bonham Carter, who was nominated for her work in The King's Speech, lost out to Melissa Leo of The Fighter.
A few photos of Helena on the red carpet before the ceremony can be found in our galleries.
Additionally, a sort of musical video editing and auto tuning scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, aptly titled "Tiny Ball of Light", featuring Ron's return to Harry and Hermione, was aired during the programme. That can be viewed here.

its time to choose between what is right and what is easy
I couldnt stop laughing while watching this last night i was freaking out! every bit of that autotune video was absolutely hilarious! i wish they had made the twilight "doesnt he own a shirt" a bit longer because that joke will never get old!
i too agree and hope that after all the hard work that has come out of HP that the Academy will acknowledge the HP series in some way seeing as it is the biggest selling franchise to date
Helena Bonham Carter looks really pretty =) It's unfortunate neither her nor Deathly Hallows won any awards, but those they lost to deserved them as well.
OMG!!!!! Luckily I recorded the entire ceremony. When I saw this part I was laughing so hard I rolled down from my bed. The Harry Potter one was the best but i liked the Auto Tune version of Social Network as well.
I was a bit disapointed that HP didn't win in neither of the categories in which it got nominated, but the competition was really tough. Although I expect part 2 to win AT LEAST one Oscar. There is going to be a lot of visual effects in the second part so I'm hoping it'll get recognized in that field. It's hard to imagine that the most successful film franchise of all time could be over without an Oscar... Sometimes I really don't understand the Academy. You'd thnk they know a great and determining film series when they see one...
LOL! I LOVED THE RON AND HERMIONE VIDEO CLIP!! I laughed soooo hard when I saw that. And I agree, my respect for the Academy just went sky high for actually taking time to do that and put it in the show! Rupert and Emma have amazing voices, hehe. Dan too, Broadway! I can't get enough of the video *hits replay*

THAT VIDEO. I nearly died from surprise when I saw that come up during the show last night, and once I recovered from the shock, I nearly died of laughter The R/Hr song is obviously my favorite of the four little songs, but I really enjoyed all of them, even the Twilight one. "She's so glad he doesn't own a shirt"
Helena looked gorgeous though I'm disappointed she didn't win, but I am happy for the lady who did And I kind of expected DH wouldn't get the ones it was nominated for, not with the ones it was up against. I really hope the last movie will get at least one Oscar next year though. It'd be a nice way to end it all.

LOL at the video!
My future husband (who has to have red hair) has to sing that to me one day^^
Next time there’s an interview someone has to ask Rupert to sing again!!!
I would so have loved to see Rupert’s and Emma’s reaction on the night that was on TV
I like Helena’s skirt (the top’s not so well) and I always like her hairstyle!!!
Helena looks pretty and I like her dress! Very 80's
I was expecting something crazy and wackier.
At least the Kings Speech won- I've gotta to see that film!
