Video: Deathly Hallows, Helena Bonham Carter coverage at 83rd Academy Awards The 83rd annual Academy Awards took place this evening, where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I was nominated for two awards, in achievement in visual effects and art direction. Unfortunately, Deathly Hallows was shut out in both categories, losing to Inception and Alice in Wonderland, respectively. Actress Helena Bonham Carter, who was nominated for her work in The King's Speech, lost out to Melissa Leo of The Fighter. A few photos of Helena on the red carpet before the ceremony can be found in our galleries. http://www.snitchseeker.com/gallery/...p_a8cbe689.jpg http://www.snitchseeker.com/gallery/...p_60943ae4.jpg Additionally, a sort of musical video editing and auto tuning scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, aptly titled "Tiny Ball of Light", featuring Ron's return to Harry and Hermione, was aired during the programme. That can be viewed here. A full list of winners at this year's Academy Awards (currently being updated), can be found here. |
I actually like her dress this time, at least she's wearing matching shoes! Lol. |
I was stunned and LOLing when I saw it on the show! |
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I was watching the show...when I saw this 'musical' thing I almost die :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) it is actually amazing to know Rupert and Emma have such musical voices now that Daniel is back at Broadway, they could join him........LOL |
the lil videoooo!!!! omg the video!! i loved it, me off to no end that they didn't win..and helena didn't either, but cest la vie, DH rocked and so does Helena...the fans know it!!! |
ok that autotuning thing is hilarious. like siriusly  and Helena was so gorgeous at the red carpet, i only saw the live coverage of that, her ensemble looked better with her trademark Ray Bans on, but yeah those photos doesnt do the dress justice. she was beautiful even as she moved. |
I'm sad that HP didn't win an Oscar (again <_< ) and Helena didn't, either, but congrats to them for getting nominated still! :) |
Epic! |
Hilarious video!! I love that they opened it with "Tiny Ball of Light"- OMG!! And I almost peed my pants at "Doesn't He Own A Shirt"! Helena- stunning dress and hair, stunning performance in The King's Speech regardless of who won! |
I have newfound respect for the Academy Awards. :lmao: Not only do they support Ron/Hermione (the best couple ever), but they took my favorite clip of them and got them to sing, "Tiny Ball of Light!" ♥ Honestly, I was laughing so hard but at least they know who belongs with who. :rotfl: I know what I want a boy to sing if he wants to serenade me! "You're my ball of light..." :xd: I love Helena's style choices but I was actually expecting something wackier to be honest. :P It's too bad she didn't win because I was rooting for her the entire time but we all know she's a brilliant actress without an Oscar. I'm of course upset that HP didn't win but it's what was expected. You'd think that the Academy could at least take into consideration how much the films have grown visually over the last ten years... Oh well, there's always next year, especially since most of the last film is mostly action, which puts out a lot of room for visual effects. But at the same time, if HP couldn't win, I'm glad it was Alice in Wonderland and Inception because they were both good visually. I thrive off of Tim Burton's wacky world so I can't really complain. |
[QUOTE=steflegan;10204271]Hilarious video!! I love that they opened it with "Tiny Ball of Light"- OMG!! And I almost peed my pants at "Doesn't He Own A Shirt"! Seriously!!! I thought I'd about die when I saw those two numbers!! |

I gotta say too, I know it was auto-tune but still...Rupert and Emma's voices sounded cool singing! I would love to know their reactions to the spot. Helena honestly did not look that bad, I was expecting much worse. Not a shock Part 1 was shut out considering who they were up against but still disapointing. Part 2 could possibly get a win though next year considering the huge battle at Hogwarts and all the effects that will be in that. |
I missed it tonight and I'm about to watch the video! Eeeep, I'm excited :D |
Dude. I'm SO glad I downloaded it before it was taken down. KNEW that would happen. Good ol' keepvid.com works wonders. |
Too bad they didn't win anything. + the video has been taken down T_T |
I love the pics of Helena and the video! :P |
I'm not quite sure I like her dress. *stares at it* Erm...but I do love her hair. Very pretty. :loved: ...and I love Colin Firth's bow tie. :eyebrows::P And I can't watch the video, sadly. :( |

Great pictures! I love Helena so much! And the video is so cute!♥ |
She looks nice.. |
well im disappointed of course but i hope next year will be better :D and im sooooooooo happy for The King's Speech and Inception <3 |
OHMYFREAKINGWORD! I just about died when I watched that video, Ron/Hermione were SOO adorable! And at the end. "He doesn't own as shirt" *dies of laughter* that was really amazing!! I think that Helena looks a lot like Bellatrix with that outfit (quite similar to Bella's, don't you think so?) |
Next year they will be honored, surely |
