Emmy-nominated producer Isabella Rupp was the guest speaker at the 17th Annual Student Arts Festival - the High School Exhibition in East Hampton, New York, this past weekend, where she encouraged students to become storytellers. Using J.K. Rowling as a specific example of a famous storyteller, Rupp said: Quote:
“JK Rowling’s first manuscript for 'Harry Potter' was rejected 12 times,” Rupp encouraged. “Just because your stories aren’t always successful, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep telling them.”

wonder how those people who rejected PS/SS feel now? I'm sure they look back (reluctantly) on it as a "career defining moment"!!! LMAO!!
this is great advice for struggling writers - publisher rejections shouldn't necessarily be taken as a bad thing if you're confident in your ability as a story teller.
