Too Cool! Those are all really good books. So glad to see HP in the top ten.

I agree w/ some of those books, but certainly not all.

Maxilocks 06-20-2008 01:05 PM

Niiiice. But, personally, I find the top three much, much more deserving. ;) And the sixth, seventh and eight are great choices, too. =)

Why is it Animal Farm? It's not a bad book, that's for sure, but I think 1984 is much better, both in style and metaphysics.

Nice to see the Prisoner up there, though. Not the one I would pick as the best novel of the series, but then again, I'm no literary expert like those who voted for The Da Vinci Code! :lmao:

Wow, greatest novels of all time! That is a HUGE deal! That is way awesome; it's also my favorite of the series  Go Jo!!

Well done! How perceptive. :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

To be fair though (and I'm nothing if not that!), The Da Vinci Code was, to an extent, quite readable. But all-time top five? Come on. I have more trouble figuring out my daily's Sudoku than the clues in that book. :D

But quite possibly this 2000-people poll conducted on the Internets is not the last word in literary criticism.

^_^

Or is this about George Orwell? Hm...

BabyStag 06-20-2008 02:32 PM

Slytherin Fox 06-20-2008 02:34 PM

I'm very happy that one of the HP books is there, though I'm a bit surprised that it's Prisoner that was chosen and not one of the others.

Steelsheen 06-20-2008 11:22 PM

i was just wondering, with all these greatest novels list, why do they keep lumping LOTR as just one entry and HP as 7 different entries? since HP is a series much like LOTR and Narnia shouldnt they just evaluate JKR's work as a whole and not piecemeal?

aidan stylez 06-21-2008 01:10 AM

no lie dudes but i like the movie better then the book :) it's more action packed then the books dudes!!
