Too Cool! Those are all really good books. So glad to see HP in the top ten.

*wow first to post* (that is a first for me)

Niiiice. But, personally, I find the top three much, much more deserving. And the sixth, seventh and eight are great choices, too. =)

Why is it Animal Farm? It's not a bad book, that's for sure, but I think 1984 is much better, both in style and metaphysics.

Nice to see the Prisoner up there, though. Not the one I would pick as the best novel of the series, but then again, I'm no literary expert like those who voted for The Da Vinci Code!

Well done! How perceptive.

To be fair though (and I'm nothing if not that!), The Da Vinci Code was, to an extent, quite readable. But all-time top five? Come on. I have more trouble figuring out my daily's Sudoku than the clues in that book.

But quite possibly this 2000-people poll conducted on the Internets is not the last word in literary criticism.

[edit]
Or is this about George Orwell? Hm...

I'm very happy that one of the HP books is there, though I'm a bit surprised that it's Prisoner that was chosen and not one of the others.

i was just wondering, with all these greatest novels list, why do they keep lumping LOTR as just one entry and HP as 7 different entries? since HP is a series much like LOTR and Narnia shouldnt they just evaluate JKR's work as a whole and not piecemeal?
