| | | POA film classification downgraded - POA film classification downgraded Summary:
PoA Film Classification has been Downgraded in Australia. Article:
In Australia, the Office of Film and Literature Classification had originally given the third film a "M" rating for mature, suggesting that the film was not suitable for children under the age of 15. The Classification review board decided yesterday that the "M" rating was not warranted for the film and downgraded it to PG, like in the U.S& UK. www.mugglenet.com |

| Keeper of Mr Tennant's specs i thought it was quite stupid actualy. i mean there is only maby 1or2 scary oi mean really scary bits and both of them are Dementors when u see there mouths i mean if u are wee like 5-8 (parents still take kids that small even thought they were told it wasnt really good for them) would be scared.
i am pleased for people who live in Australia. but it didnt make any diffrence to how much money POA made it has still done amazingly well.
WB have already made there money back on it already after a week.

I dont think they have yet. $93 million dollars halfed (to get it to sterling) is about 46.5 million plus the 23 million in the UK doesn't add up to the supposed £100 million they spent on the film.

That's probably in dollars though. To make it sound like more.

Yeah its great and all but now all of these so called "experts" are saying how the film is still damaging to the minds of young kids. I just saw it on the news that one person said that although it is rare, kids could actually become stuck in the film and wouldnt be able to get out. Im sorry but that it is a load of crock. I actually laughed. Mum said that it sounds as though these people would rather have their kids watch people get beaten up on screen and drunk and stuff rather than watching Harry Potter. It is outragious.

NO!!!!! ah I was happy it was M! Alot of people kinda judge movies that are rated PG to being bad movies so I was happy it wasn't going to get that. M just sounded so much better....I'll stop complaining now.

^ I dont really understand how you came to that conclusion. SInce when were movies that are PG considered bad movies?

I took my 4 and 7 year old children and neither one of them had any problems with the movie. Neither child had nightmares nothing. They in fact loved the movie and cant wait to see it again. As it was rated PG and I am the parent and knowing the kinds of movies my kids enjoy watching (ie Jaws, Twister, Tremors, Starship Troopers) I decided that my children would be able to handle this movie and they were. I think it totally depends on the child and the parents. But both of my children have already sunk their teeth into much nastier movie fare than POA.
