| | |  Philosopher's Stone Fat Lady actress passes away
Elizabeth Spriggs, who played the Fat Lady Gryffindor common room entrance portrait in Philosopher's Stone, recently passed away. Aged 78 the actress had excelled in her lifetime on both screen and stage. Quote:
Acting for Elizabeth Spriggs could be a painful experience: "You have to be open to new ideas. It's a little like an open wound, never healing ... It's vital to be constantly stretched ... I hated most of my disciplining, but it taught me more than technique."
Quote:
This was a career path, however, that brought her no fulfilment: "I felt as if I was dying inside. The desire to act was like a weight within me, and I knew if I didn't do anything it would destroy me."
