New UK Half-Blood Prince release date: July 15, 2009

We have received confirmation from Warner Bros that the UK release date for Half-Blood Prince has been pushed up by two days; it will now be out the same day as in US, on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.

Other international dates are listed on the Half-Blood Prince official site.

WOW!!! I still Don't understand why they changed it by TWO days!? Oh well, makes me happy!!

FIRST TO POST!!!!!

Rosa Chispa Princessa 05-12-2009 01:32 AM

To match the US release date, duh.

finfin91 05-12-2009 01:49 AM

I think it's because they want to get a great showing for the weekend box office. They want to get at least $75million for the opening weekend. Right? It's all because of MONEY!

Ginny GL 05-12-2009 02:42 AM

Great for them!!

well, I got that part....silly!! I meant why change any of them at all! I guess extending the opening weekend by two days makes them more money..... that makes sense now!

This is great but I wish I hadn't booked a train ticket based around the original release date!

Emma C.D. Watson 05-12-2009 11:26 AM

couldn't they have put it the 15th from start??

hpnaiv 05-12-2009 12:07 PM

Great. But what makes me a little annoyed is that why couldn't they have just changed it when they changed ours (US) to July 15? Better yet, when they announced July 17, they should have just made it July 15.

Patronus Charm 05-12-2009 12:11 PM

whatever the date is.....there is nothing anyone can do about it other than whine and go see it when it comes out....

No because that wouldn't catch out the competition. Now other studios have less time to react.

Probably because it took longer to organise.

Nabs 05-12-2009 12:28 PM

Booger. I won't be here then...

Don't you all remember? The original release date was supposed to be last november.

Padfoot7 05-12-2009 01:08 PM

I don't think WB realiss how many plans they keep ruining by constantly changing the day.

Now you Brits are going to get it before the Americans! :P
