| | | New Half-Blood Prince video game preview & cover art (UPDATED) IGN U.K. have published their preview of the Half-Blood Prince video game, which will be released mid-November. Having got to grips with the demo at Comic Con, they report back on some of the new features. Quote:
The game's even adding changing times of day so it won't perpetually be noon outside and different student moods to accompany those times -- i.e. a kid who is super-energized in the morning might be rundown by the evening.
Quote:
EA's even putting an emphasis on realistic body motion and more accurate facial representations this time around.
Also EA have released the cover art for the PS3 version of the game, which can be seen here.
Source: Sugar Covered Quills & UHP UPDATE: EA have now released the cover art for all platforms of the game. The same picture is used in every instance. They can all be seen here thanks to Blog Hogwarts. |

Just asking, did you guys like the Order of the Phoenix videogame?
While the design of the game was breathtaking (I mean the castle was flawless!), the actual tasks were .. boring and you never really lost the game ..
My personal favorite game was CoS. It wasn't design perfect, but it was really a fun game. I loved that you actually had to go on a quest for spell books.. instead of Hermione knowing everything and teaching it to you in two seconds.
Just wondering if anyone thinks the same?

I do miss learning the spells in an actual classroom task, though. I thought they were fun - except I can't get Luna to lift the thestral food, try as I might! And I know katiebell is having the exact same problem! Quote:

I loved the look, the sound (both the characters & the soundtrack) and the gameplay. I like not being able to lose. I tend to lose patience with games where I keep dying I definitely think playing it on the Wii beats out the PC, Gamecube and PS2. Quote:
So is that how the cave will look like then ... ?
I'd expect it to be that shape but a bit grittier.

Just wondering if anyone thinks the same? i loved the OOTP video game. i played it on the PSP and Wii platform. and indeed the layout of Hogwarts and the grounds is one of the best things about the game. i actually enjoyed the tasks, looking for DA members and doing challenges. i mean not everybody would be so willing to join an underground resistance movement, and being students they have their own concerns-- homework primarily being one of them . its also a clever way of exploring Hogwarts and having the chance to do different sort of spells at the same time.
what i think is a missed opportunity on the Wii was a really good dueling game, either at the Dueling Club or fighting as a group around the castle grounds/ dept of mysteries. i enjoyed it immensely on the PSP despite the kooky controls (i tell ya Wingardium Leviosa/ Incendio is a pain to do on the PSP, which unfortunately is one of the most common spell that you have to do to get tasks done). but now that they've added the duelling segment in the HBP game, the Wii platform is the console to play HP on. the Luna task for the PSP was different, and i think more challenging. i had to bring down the Weasley Twins' Portable Swamps which were hidden on the roof part of the courtyard. obviously there is no ladder so i had to move big rocks and benches all aroundso i could climb. took me days to figure it out because Luna was giving wrong instructions!
but yeah i love this game. unlike the other games that i have, even when i've finished it i still play the dueling part specially when i feel like letting off some steam |

Luna is very distracting...and the food constantly slides down for me, even when I balance it against the rocks! Like I said, I have little to no patience when it comes to perserverence.

^ Nope but no doubt I will go back to it. With an 11 year old brother off school for summer, it's rather hard getting at the TV to play |
