The
BBC today reports that a 51 year old man, Paul Lomax, has been ordered to stay away from J.K.Rowling after he bombarded her with letters and phone calls. Lomax was fixated with the idea that he'd met Jo on a train 17 years ago.
Quote:
Edinburgh Sheriff Court issued an indefinite non-harassment order against Lomax, banning him from contacting Ms Rowling or her staff.
Lomax, from London, was also fined £300 after pleading guilty to the offence.
Quote:
Ms Rowling became seriously concerned when in one letter Lomax compared himself to Kenneth Halliwell, who committed suicide after killing fellow writer Joe Orton with a hammer in 1967.
Prior to being arrested last year Lomax had ignored two previous warnings from the police.
Lomax apologised for any distress he had caused the author or her staff.
