AOL Moviefone have named Lord Voldemort as their #1 movie villain. He beat fictional figures such as Hannibal Lecter, Darth Vader, The Joker and Cruella De Vil.

It's kind of interesting how a nearly non appearing character shapes a story so much and becomes so important.

Voldemort is pretty much Satan incarnated. He doesn't have one good bone in his body. Never loved, never trusted, never gave but grief and trouble.

my brother isnt pleased hes a big star wars freak and thinks darth vadar is more evil
but im the harry potter obsessed freak and believe voldmorts far better as a villian..... ahhhh some good arguments im having with my brother XD

No - he killed his grandparents and his father. And then went on to seek immortality in the most irreversible way possible.

I disagree. What makes a great villain is the author's ability to make you see their motivation and empathise with them. As much I might be repulsed by the choices he made, I can sympathise with his tragic startings in life.
