That is like the meanest thing ever!!!!
JKR sold the rights for the movies, not the rights for having imagination. I'm very PedOff.
What is worse, is that the WB only cares for the money. Next thing you know, they will be shutting off SS and any other site that is similar. |

WB must protect their rights in relation to th use of "Harry Potter", it's that they are just mean or interested in money as a whole........
Just imagine what would happen if everyone was given free reign of use copyrighted material....... (intelectual or prperty rights)  | |

thats not very fair. I understand with them banning kids doing HP plays and stuff like that but a 'Harry Potter day' sounds pretty harmless.
does that mean that people called Harry Potter are not allowed to use their names on their businesses?

There are some things I could understand WB doing; stopping illegal copies of the movies from getting out on the web, keeping info that could put the actors in danger secret...
But this is just one step too far!!!!!!!!!!! This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. A harry potter party actually gets people in the mood, so they will want to go see the movies.
I also don't think anything is wrong with Harry Potter plays. WB has the rights to the MOVIES, not plays.
I think J.K.R. made a HUGE mistake signing over the rights to those bas***ds at WB.

I don't know why WB hasn't done this more in the past. There are tons of HP events using the name and all sorts of things from the movie/books. There was one here(where I live) just a few months ago for the March break for the Elementary School kids that were off. All the posters advertising it had HP all over them. Then again, it was a theatre that organized it so they might have stopped and asked permission. *shrugs* well, I'm not so surprised that this has happened but I don't understand why it's not happening more.

While what WB did may be legal, it certainly misses the point. Think how much positive they could have generated had they allowed the children's groups to have their Harry Potter Day. You know the parents of all those kids think WB is "low" and nasty, and now all of us agree with that.
I'm still angry at how they butcher the books in the movies, and now we have even more reason to think WB doesn't understand that their products' sales depend upon the good will of the fans.... WB certainly is mean-spirited, short-sighted, and money-grubbing.

God that is sooooo hateful. what would it have hurt for those kids to have that day? it wasn't like they were going to dress up like Harry and go through town trying to turn people into frogs! that is sooooo mean. i am outraged WB can be soooo gay sometimes!!!
