J.K. Rowling has no "firm plans" to publish Harry Potter encyclopedia in book form

Although author J.K. Rowling stated on her newly-launched official website last month that she was currently in the process of writing the Harry Potter encyclopaedia, she updated this month with a bit of a change in plans regarding the future of the comprehensive text for the series.

Well at least we know she really is going to make a encyclopaedia of Harry’s world. Just not when.

As rich as she is, she should hire someone to do it. Like the SS staff LOL all of whom would likely do it for free ... I'd do it for five minutes with Jo so I could ask her all kinds of questions about HP and her new book and Rupert ... *squeeeeeeeee* but you know ... that's just a suggestion. :wizard:

My first question would be, "Why is Ron so cool?" and "What's Rupert's cell phone?" :P

I like the idea of having this just be in web form. While the extra information is neat, I don't think it's worth the cost of publication. I'm sure fans will buy anything Harry Potter related really fast, but it's not the same as buying and reading a full story. It'd be great to have it all on Pottermore, if that site ever gets off the ground.

Well that's kind of confusing... Hope she does publish it. :yes:

*Big huge sigh* Well then WHY the huge hissy fit when Steve Van der Ark wanted to publish his encyclopedia? Yes or no, firm answer, make up your mind and stop teasing the fans!

I hope it comes out some day (sooner rather than later, of course).

I would like it in book form, it would be much easier than going through Pottermore for the information, even though Pottermore is cool.

I was really looking forward to the HP Encyclopedia, especially in book form. Books always appeal me more than e-books, or electronic text.

Oh no... I prefer books!!!
