It has been reported that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is doing better in pre-order figures than the previous book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix did, in certain stores. It is expected that HBP will beat its predecessors figures. Quote:
WH Smith say it's doing better than book five did, and Waterstones say their orders are going extremely well.

It took just under three-and-a-half months for OOTP to sell 130,000 pre-ordered copies on Amazon, becoming the company's biggest ever seller.
HBP has sold 100,000 on the site in just over one month, so if sales keep on going, it should crack that record pretty soon!

Ah, yes, because of the converts  ... HP is reaching more and more people, yay! Although it would be ironic if people were just preordering really early and it would stop at say 120,000

I didn't get into harry potter until after OOTP came out. So this is my first time actaully wating for the next book to come out. I actually think I would have enjoyed started reading them after all 7 books are out because this wait is killing me.

Thats good news. Is HP more popular now or when it was first released? I think the movies have opened op HP to a wider audience, although the audience was always wide, lol.
