Post 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' Broadway production second casting round underway

It looks like the second round of casting for the Broadway run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is currently underway with Jim Carnahan at the Roundabout Theatre Company. For more information on how to audition (presumably open casting for those with equity union acting cards), head right here.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”
If you never got your Hogwarts letter, fret not because Harry Potter’s wizarding crew is about to hit New York City. A trip to jolly old England out of the question? Start saving your dollars for Broadway, because J.K. Rowling’s latest Potter venture is moving stateside after a run on the West End.

The spellbinding performance that is currently—like every other Harry Potter–themed venture—getting rave reviews across the pond is setting sail for America in 2018. Harry, Hermione, and Ron revisit their childhood when a new mystery leads them back to Hogwarts. Casting on the project is underway with Jim Carnahan at the Roundabout Theatre Company. The musical aims to have the Lyric Theatre’s curtains levitating by Spring 2018. (Wands and spell books not included.)
Among those set to be cast include adult Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Ginny Potter, and Draco Malfoy, as well as their children Rose Granger-Weasley, Albus Potter, and Scorpius Malfoy.

Nah, we even posted an interview with Anthony a few weeks back where he said he was done in May. He's not coming back. This is going to happen a lot, and always does with stage productions. They all probably have a year-long contract, and have the choice to continue or let it expire and move on to other projects.

That's what happened with the majority of the current main cast. All of their contracts expire in May and they chose not to renew them.

Director John Tiffany said a bit back that the original London cast would get first dibs on reprising their roles (including Jamie/Harry, Paul/Ron, Noma/Hermione), if they want to come to Broadway. That's of course up to the actors.
