| | | Harry Potter a favourite in Australia The Sunshine Daily Coast Online reports that, for the second time in three years, Australian children have voted for the Harry Potter series as their favourite books. More than 15,000 kids took part in the Angus & Robertson Kids’ Top 50 book poll nationwide. Quote:
“This poll proves that kids’ tastes change rapidly and significantly when it comes to their favourite books but when they find characters that they connect with, kids are really committed to a whole series,” said Dave Fenlon, the book retailer’s group operating officer.
“The number of books that have been, or are being made into films is also high. It is extraordinarily positive that books and movies together fuel kids’ literacy and passion for stories.”
“Australian authors also feature heavily in the Kids’ Top 50, indicating that stories set in our backyard resonate with kids.”

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |

That is fantastic. I live in Australia and the book launches were always hectic. The crowds were huge (to say the least)
