Cool, but to be honest, the other oscar-nominees were very strong...

siriusly_loving_gary 03-06-2006 12:41 PM

Harry Potter NEVER wins an oscar - this is just so unfair. And even more, coz the film wasn't even nominated for stuff like special effects and so on. But well...

Congrats on the other award!

'arrypotter01 03-06-2006 12:57 PM

who cares???
we dont need awards toknow GoF is the best!!!

DansAngel89 03-06-2006 02:24 PM

Just because Harry Potter didn't come home with an Oscar award, doesn't mean it's not as good as the films who won. Diehard Harry Potter fans know the truth - We don't need an award to believe that. However, seeing that Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes both won an Oscar proves to the people out there that Harry Potter has the BEST actors you could possibly wish for. ~Stacey~ :)

starlightangel 03-06-2006 03:24 PM

Well done to thise who won oscars, it's a shame GoF didn't.

Kitty Loves Steps 03-06-2006 03:26 PM

That award was better than none! Well done Goblet!

Erzer 03-06-2006 04:42 PM

Congratulation's, and celebration's........ah you know how the song goes!!!

Mrs Tonks 03-06-2006 04:55 PM

I really hoped GoF would win an Oscar, but at least it was nominated. That's a good thing anyway. Perhaps in future, some of the other Harry Potter films will receive an Oscar. :)

MrsRadcliffe 03-06-2006 04:57 PM

O kool, shame tho.. i heard about this, this morning did they actually win it?, but no one collected it?

I thought GoF had it in the bag for the Oscar win,but was quickly disappointed by who did win. Anyway, I am sure of it that in the future HP will get the credit that it deserves...they will take notice.

Kazters 03-06-2006 07:22 PM

We did deserve an oscar for something! but oh well

Mrs Felton 03-06-2006 07:24 PM

That's good ... but also bad. I'm glad it won an award though..

luvkati172 03-06-2006 08:32 PM

Congrats and yet not GOF!!!

dancerbookl 03-06-2006 08:42 PM

Congratulations to all the winners!

UPDATE:

Unfortunately, 'Goblet if Fire' failed to pick up the Achievement in Art Direction award at the Oscars this evening, falling to Memoirs of a Geisha. However, it was a good night for Harry Potter stars, as movies starring Brendan Gleeson (Six Shooter) and Ralph Fiennes (Wallace & Gromit) both won honors.

Congrats to Gof!!! But i was so siad when Gof didn't win the Oscar :violin:
How is it that the movies seem to be able win almost every possible award and not get nominated for an Oscar? Then GoF is nominated for an Oscar and doesn't win but still awsome that it was nominated!!

SummerThunder 03-06-2006 09:24 PM

Congrats to the winners but I wish the Oscars looked more at the Movies that everyday people actually went to see. I don't even think the top movies came to my town and we have a pretty good theatre. MAybe then GOF and others might have a chance at some of the big awards.

Petrovich 03-06-2006 09:36 PM

My opinion: GOF is completely sound and digital effects movie. And those people who worked at backscene, should get awards, not the stars. IMHO, though.
And certainly I wanted all the actors to win, and some of them did, and that makes me happy!!!!!!!

cool breezes 03-06-2006 09:42 PM

Ralph Fiennes was in Wallace and Grommit???? wow, did i ever not know that!! but congrats to him tho

Hermionespell 03-06-2006 09:43 PM

Yay =)

Too bad GoF didn't win an Oscar too, that would've been awesome :D

slytherin's_advent 03-06-2006 09:51 PM

I watched the oscar, and I was praying that Gof would be selected, so sad hey lost to memoirs of a geisha. But congrats to all the winners!!

Taytertots101 03-06-2006 10:50 PM

slythringurl04 03-06-2006 11:01 PM

ah well, we all know Gof was great!

TonksNymphadora 03-06-2006 11:03 PM

Oh well, maybe they'll get the next movie an Oscar.

prettyinpink 03-06-2006 11:20 PM

Congrats to the other award!

hpfreak009 03-07-2006 12:22 AM
