Fourth clue of Pottermore's Magical Quill Challenge on Goblet of Fire now closed
 

The Fourth Round of Pottermore.com’s Magical Quill Scavenger Hunt has been launched, giving Harry Potter fans worldwide the chance to have early access to the expansive new website by answering a question from the fourth novel, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Once registered, you may also insert your Pottermore name into your SnitchSeeker profile, if you would like to, by following this link and completing the field titled "Pottermore Username".

SnitchSeeker will continuously update with news on Pottermore every day of this week, including when the new clues are released. Thursday’s question will revolve around the fifth and largest book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, so it may be worth brushing up on your knowledge of the Department of Mysteries (for it’s a mystery what the clue will be!).


Note: If you figured out the clue and answer, and have been able to register and get your verification, you are done with this stage of the Pottermore experience. You will no longer have to register again this week through the Magical Quill challenge; the next part is to await for the Welcome Email for the Pottermore beta site, which will be sent anytime between August 7 to September 30, 2011.



UPDATE: The Pottermore Insider Blog has once again updated, answering a question asked by many regarding the creation of multiple accounts.

UPDATE 3: The Pottermore Insider has revealed a hint on the timeframe of the next clue.

For all those unfamiliar with British Summer Time, that's 3.30pm - 7pm GMT; 11.30am - 3pm EST; 8.30am-12pm PST.

AH just re-do the quill.pottermore etc. and the number and it will just automatically take you to the registration page. I think they stuffed it up?

They've messed up the quill. Reanswer the quill's question and it'll allow you to register directly.

I thought maybe I had to "Shop" for something to find the quill, but I couldn't find it when I clicked shop for a blu-ray player..

Has anyone found the Quill through the Sony website? If so, what browser are you using? Chrome and Firefox aren't revealing anything with me.

I refreshed the sony page and reentered the quill.pottermore page. I got redirected to the Congratulations screen, I got in!

If you don't add quill before pottermore.com/*** you'll get to the invisibility cloak page

So, I was able to register no problem, but it told me I was under 18 and couldn't choose my own username...and I'm over 18. I even went back and entered all the info again and it still wouldn't let me choose my own name. So now I'm stuck with CloakAsphodel185, which isn't horrible, but it's not what I would have chosen...anybody else have this problem?

It doesn't let you pick your username, ever. It always gives you a randomly generated one, choice out of five.

It worked for me with Internet Explorer. I had no blockers up or anything, but I'm not sure if that helped.

It kept redirecting me to the sony sight but if you type in the URL again it showed up. Super weird. I GOT THE QUILL!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEKKKK I'm so giddy.

No quill actually. After I entered quill.pottermore.com/*** -- the next page said Congratulations! You got the Quill...or something like that. Quite weird 'cause my sister registered the last time and I saw the page wherein you have to actually catch a glowing quill. I'm using the latest version of Firefox, btw.

When should I be expecting the email? For those who already signed up previously, how long did it take you to find it?

It took me about a half hour to receive my email. I know someone who registered the same day as me and it took a few hours. But we all got ours, so don't worry too much :)

You have to manually type in website and the answer is 112 which i hope all you know. I'm getting in early for Pottermore though! So excited! I hope to see you guys there early too.

They said that the first three days would be harder and the remaining would have easier, this may be an example...

I'm glad that they waited to open this one for a decent hour in the US lol...the last ones were like at 2 or 3 in the morning!!!

A quick browse of twitter makes it look like Internet Explorer was the only browser it initially worked with. Now it's working fine with the rest, though.

HeartAuror190 is here! ^_^ It's makes me seem much cooler than Crookshanks the cute and cuddly kitty! Finally! After setting the alarm clock to the early hours of the morning (I had to snooze it like around 20 times) and keep checking Pottermore for the clue, I literally slipped off of my seat (and yes somehow that is possible) when I saw it up. All I got to do now is wait for the validation email. I hope it doesn't take long.

I am so upset!!! i kept on typing in the answer but it just took me to the pottermore site!!! and now it's closed :'( this is horrible. ABSOLUTELY horrible.

News about Pottermore is spreading. Yesterday it was 30 minutes... today was like 15-20 minutes...

Was lost when it brought me to the Sony web coz there wasn't any sign of the quill. This is the difficult part when we knew that we are suppose to search for a quill. Kinda misleading. :dizzy:

Actually, this time it was more like 40, but still, that's much shorter then it was previously, but at the same time, no quill hunt, easiest question ever. Don't even need to have read the book to get in, just the movie will have done for once.

And I'm validated!! So hopefully I get my welcome letter soon :) :)

Ah! I can't believe I missed it again! I had to be gone for one hour of the day at an appointment and that's when it was. Grrrr!
