Entertainment Weekly has rated Alan Rickman as a "most valuable player" citing his role as Snape in Order of the Phoenix for being "icy" and "humorless". Quote:
Rickman may not be on screen long — but he owns every minute. He's magnificently intimidating, whether jousting with Daniel Radcliffe's Harry or turning a simple retort (''No idea'') into a mini-symphony of contempt.

Anyway, I really don't like the part about the short screentime. Let's hope they make up for that in movie 6, there's really no way they can reduce his storyline to a few minutes there...

Snape threw Harry from him with all his might. Harry fell hard onto the dungeon floor.
"You will not repeat what you saw to anybody!" Snape bellowed.
"No," said Harry, getting to his feet as far from Snape as he could, "No, of course I w--"
"Get out, get out, I don't want to see you in this office ever again!" ....I'm so gonna watch it over and over, step by step..and it they cut it out i'll take out my revenge on everyone who didn't miss it. MWAHAHAHA! I love it when Professor Snape gets angry, 'cause Alan Rickman does such a great job. *Smiles up at Professor Snape..who probably is now creeped out*

The EW article was great, also the editoral Stephen King does on the back page tells how all the other authors are happy to send him advanced copies of their books but not Jo. He says he'll be standing in line for Deathly Hallows like every other kid knocking them out of the way. It was really funny!

Techinically, he's not all that bad. If you really think about it, he hasn't done much harm to Harry or anybody, well, except for that last sticky situation in Half-Blood Prince. He's also played by one of the greatest actors of all time!
