The News of the World has today reported that Emma Watson has refused to sign a contract for the next film, Half-Blood Prince.
This contradicts yesterday's report from The Sun which said "sources" at WB said she'd signed up for both the sixth film and Deathly Hallows. Quote:
Daniel Radcliffe is already signed up to star as the quidditch-playing wizard and Rupert Grint will again play Harry's best pal Ron Weasley.
He told us: "Emma doesn't want to do it any more. She's tired of being known as ‘that girl from Harry Potter'."
Rupert added: "Daniel and I are distant from her now. We don't text or talk to her when we are not filming."
They say WB confirmed that Emma hasn't signed up for more movies.
Neither sources are particularly reliable, and the reports are conflicting, so we won't know anything for sure until WB make an official announcement. UPDATE: CBBC Newsround have spoken to WB and they have assured fans that Emma Watson is NOT leaving the Harry Potter franchise. In fact, she has gone on record, in interviews for Order of the Pheonix, saying she WILL do the last 2 films. Quote:
"We're extremely confident that Emma will be back for films six and seven."
Emma, unlike Dan and Rupert, hasn't signed a contract yet, hence all the speculation, but that is because the details of it are still being worked out.  | |

If that report was true, than she wouldn't be known as the "that girl from Harry Potter, but the stupid girl that gave up the harry potter movies. It would be a shame to have that many fans go from adoring you to hating you! It is bound to happen, even if her reasons are justified. I hope this is an aweful rumor that someone thought would be really funny to spread, and please WB, contradict this soon!!!!

And well I find it kinda dumb, if this is true, on Emma's part to not do the last 2 films. I mean why do 5 and not the last two? Might as well just finished them, right? It would be very different without her because she plays Hermione so well and also because we're just so used to seeing her in the movies. Well shes been saying that for a while,but i hope its not true.She makes the perfect Hermione.Anyways we are so used to her that if she quits it would be bad for the Potter moies.I dont like her that much I think she is to show-offy &concieted.Plus she doesnt have bushy hair....LOL!!!!

But Emma can't quit! Hermione is nothing without Emma! Emma is the one who brought Hermione Granger to life! She can't just leave like that! I know it probably does get stressful being reffered to as "that girl from Harry Potter" but I thought Emma could handle it! Actually I know she can handle it! I think this is just a false statement! Daniel always says how he and Emma are so close like brother and sister! So the part where it is reported that Emma, Rupert, and Dan aren't close is false too!
This is just a rumor and I refuse to accept it! I am about to cry here! If Emma doesn't come back.... IT'S NOT TRUE! SHE IS COMING BACK!

Emma has always been the last to sign, I really don't think it would be a good move on her part. Yeah she may not like being that girl from Harry Potter but that's better than not being remembered at all. I'm sure the stocker scared her but dropping out with only 2 more movie doesn't make alot of sense. We'll just have to wait and see!
