Emma Watson updated her official website today to dispel a few rumours going around in regards to her stay at Brown University, what she may do her third year - her reps have already confirmed she will be transferring out of Brown this fall - and getting ready to film The Perks of Being a Wallflower next month in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Quote:
Dear all,
I felt the need to let you all know the reason I took a semester off from Brown had nothing to do with bullying as the media have been suggesting recently. I have never been bullied in my life and certainly never at Brown. This '10 points to Gryffindor' incident never even happened. I feel the need to say this because accusing Brown students of something as serious as bullying and this causing me to leave seems beyond unfair.
Please don't try and speculate about what I might do in September - no one can possibly know because I don't even know yet! Like my other fellow Brown students I am trying to figure out my third year and whether or not I will spend it abroad (this is common).
I hope you all liked the new Harry Potter trailer. I am off to Pittsbugh soon to start "The Perks of being a Wallflower". I've just got back from hanging out with Stephen Chobosky (the director and writer), Logan and Ezra (the two other principal actors) and I already know this is going to be an incredible experience. I feel very lucky.

Well, I had already assumed this to be false because Emma never gave any indication before that people harassed her. She always said she loved Brown. Even if she was ever bullied there, Emma doesn't seem like the type of person to simply leave and give up her dream of going to college just like that. The media just likes to turn simple things into dramatic stories but I'm glad Emma put that to rest.

wow, i'm glad that she's addressing these ugly rumors. it's nice that she keeps her fans updated and correctly informed about this stuff.
i'm looking forward to the perks of being a wallflower. i think i'll have to read it again (though i seemed to have lost my copy) before it comes out. i'm hoping it has an awesome soundtrack; music is so central to the book! i never really pictured it on the big screen, though...
