The previous one-day box office holder domestically was the second installment in The Twilight Saga, New Moon, which took in $72.7 million over a year ago. The film made an additional $82.5 million internationally just through Thursday evening sales. The finale's next target is the weekend domestic box office record, currently held by 2008's The Dark Knight, which brought in $158.4 million three summers ago. We will have full weekend box-office numbers, both domestic and international, by Sunday.
