| | | Deathly Hallows embargo "could be broken"
The BBC are reporting that some book stores are expected to ignore the embargo on Deathly Hallows and sell the book early, in order to gain publicity. This wouldn't be surprising, as in 2005 the Half-Blood Prince embargo was broken several times. Quote:
"It's quite possible one will break the embargo," says Katherine Rushton from The Bookseller magazine. "They'd do it to be first, and for all the PR."
Quote:
The book's publishers, Bloomsbury, said it had "no reason to believe anyone would want to ruin the excitement".
"If such a thing were to happen, we believe that the public would make their feelings known by not buying it from such a spoilsport retailer."
However, it added, "it is our intention to vigorously enforce the embargo if required".
It is feared however that as this is the last book, there won't be an incentive not to sell early, as the publisher's cannot threaten to withold future installments. |

hey! that's not fair >=/ sure people will want to read the books, and we're all VERY excited & curious to find out what will happen, but the sellers should respect JKR, and sell it on the correct date, that makes more people want the book anyways,
I cant wait for the REAL opening date to come!!!!

Don't think they can make it illegal - however, however the book dealers can be open to contractual fines which cause them to loose profits. Then the stockholders will get mad....It is all about money.
